Just started a maintenance job, and I’m using a utility knife every day. They do supply one, but it feels cheap and takes up more space in my pocket while carrying other tools. I was a little thrown by the price initially, but I know that if I buy a cheaper one and don’t like it it’s just gonna get left at home. I’m really considering it just to have a nice knife that I can carry, feels comfortable in the hand and looks cool, but at the same time I don’t care if the blade dulls or even breaks. I definitely have nicer knives in the collection, but this would easily be my most carried if I get one. To me, that makes it worth it even if it does do the same thing as every other cheaper box cutter. At least I’d enjoy using it.

I think that by the end of your video I’ve convinced myself. It’s the same concept as anyone who knows anything would rather have snap on tools than husky (or pretty much any other brand than husky, for that matter), so why not the same with a knife? A snap on tool box does the same thing as a husky tool box, or any other brand, but the snap on cost a hell of a lot more and people that care about quality still buy it.

Great review Dirk! I have and have carried the CHUB daily for about two years. I’m constantly opening boxes for my job, and honestly, I just got tired of dulling my blades on my knifes. So this is small enough to carry in my 5th (watch) pocket and is a great tool to use instead of dulling my main blade.

I got mine last summer and heat anodized the frame bronze and the button and clip a dark purple and love it! It rides in my 5th pocket at work with my ti keybar. Its really convenient to have a utility blade all the time thats super badass like this and blade swaps are super quick and east too. It saves on my main blade [preatorian scout] too when cutting dirty or things that i know will just ruin my edge super fast.

I got mine at the same time I got my liberation and chaves pen. One hell of a trio. I use the c.h.u.b at work. I do landscaping and the weed fabric was dulling my knives super fast. Very happy with the quality on all of the chaves stuff I have ordered. They all reate made?

    • @DirkWerning

Yes I believe they are all made my Reate.

Pretty cool. I carry a small folding Gerber utility knife everyday for work. They are a great edc option and make great knives. This one is super fancy but still would be a cool addition to the collection. Great review 👍

I love my Giltek Ruk but that was like $30 or less and that's about all I'm willing to spend on one of these, at least as of now. I find that I like it but I also enjoy using my knife:)

@@DirkWerning sorry. The shock overwhelmed me. I thought you were going to say $50-60 bucks. I liked it until the price ruined it. I own a home renovation company and my $12 button lock Milwaukee fastback folder utility knife I’ve used on the job for 10+ years isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Cheers!
