I love X-Men. I loved reading the comics and watching the animated tv show growing up then saw the first X-Men movie in theaters with my mom. I watched a little of the X-Men evolved then kinda fell out of it for some years and within the last couple of years really been getting back into all the old stories and show and sharing them with my kids . It's brought me alot of good memories. This was a great video Dave , it felt like back in the day when me and my buddies would get around and compare figures and talk about who would win in a fight. Very cool video. I got the Wolverine 5 pk for Cyber. It was a tough choice but then I realized I was also thinking of buying the Omega Red so it made the choice to purchase it a bit easier. Btw I agree with the state of modern X-Men comics. Hickman is an awesome writer but I hate what he’s done with the X related characters

The Sauron BAF remains one my holy grails I'd have bought him off you in an instant! Oh well, no worries. His first appearance was in X-Men 59-61, then my first experience of the character was in Byrne & Claremont's X-Men 115-117 followed by Marvel Fanfare 2-4 cementing him as top tier X-villain moving forward. Arcade is another personal favourite so check out X-Men 123-124, Marvel Team Up 89 and X-Men 145-147. Fun list Dave, though any top X-Men list without Banshee (despite the figure we have being completely tragic) is no list at all - but being Irish I may be a tad biased. For me I'd have included Magik, Dani Moonstar, Northstar, Warlock & Cannonball and ditched Maverick, Sugar Man, Wanda (she is an iconic Avenger first), Domino & Nimrod.
Loved the it’s always sunny in Philadelphia “sketch”(I guess) but you should have mentioned that to credit them and also find new audience for the series which is very important for the show to continue

They can retcon it all they want, to me Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will ALWAYS be Mutants, and ALWAYS be the children of Magneto! They only changed it because Marvel didn't think they would get Mutants back to use in the movies! Quicksilver is the spitting image of Magneto and Wanda looks exactly like Magda. I would actually be playing up a sisterly bond with Polaris, but I'm not in charge. A lot of people don't know this, but the first times we saw Magneto without his helmet, he had weird 'Beethoven' hair! Wasn't until very late in the original X-Men run that we saw unhelmeted Magneto as he looks now in a Savage Land story. Sometimes being ancient you know these things. 😀🙂😄😎🤠
I believe it was Original X-Men #11, but I could be wrong. I'm not having any luck finding an image. It could also have been #18. I haven't had those issues in over 20 years. We see Magneto without his helmet as we know him in Original X-Men #62.
2 figures that I have that weren't on this list are Fantomex and Xorn. Both absolutely confusing and absolutely non essential, just thought that was interesting. Also no Warpath.
Ah, I do have Sauron in my Savage Land as I have the Ka-Zar, Zabu, and Shanna, also Stegron, and several dinosaurs. Forgot Exiles; pretty slim there, Blink, Mr. Creed/good Sabretooth, custom Mariko/Sunfire, Spider-Man 2099, and an older Longshot And I have a complete 8 member Alpha Flight. Ah, and you have to add Wendigo and maybe Hulk. Also forgot I did a custom Rockslide from the movie Thing. Basically just painted him grey. So I'm always trying to expand everything.

46. I sold Sauron for the same reason. He's too big and out of scale with the X-Men, even ignoring all the shelf space he takes. 42. That was a hilarious Sebastian psych-out. Yes, he's the Black King. 34. Silver Samurai really is a great and underrated figure. 30. I sold my Blob for $150. I'm assuming a new and better one will come soon. 25. The way I see it, if you have Nimrod, you don't need the Haslab Sentinel. Nimrod is the most powerful Sentinel. It's how I rationalized not buying Haslab Sentinels. 21. I found the Mystique at Walgreens when she was out, but it wasn't easy. 20. The Sabretooth figure is the right size for the character. People complained about Venom being on that mold too, but it was also the right size for Venom. 18. Mr. Sinister is a great looking figure, but that cape makes him very back-heavy and doesn't necessarily support his weight. 13. "I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me, and be broken!" That's the quote as far as I remember. He's my favorite villain. 10. I prefer the dark blue and metallic pink version, but both are great. 9. That's the worst of the three Iceman figures Hasbro has done. The AoA version that just came out is amazing. 6. I proudly have both regular and Dark Phoenix, the latter the highlight of my X-Men display. I hunted several Toys "R" Us locations for her and Cyclops. 4. The retro Rogue is a little better, but both Jim Lee versions are great. 2. Rogue and Gambit wear jackets too. 1. They're just meeting demand.
Great list and I know you couldn't fit em all but besides Ilyana for me gotta also have Warpath, Thunderbird, Spiral, Toad, Longshot, Strong Guy, Cannonball, Boom Boom, Sunspot, Moira Mctaggert, and Banshee. Of course we need others but figures of them don't exist yet like Feral, Wolfsbane (I know the Dani Moonstar figure but I'm talking X-Factor version), and Siryn, but I think they're coming I just got a feeling.
I have my issues with the modern X-Men comics but you have to respect that the dynamics have to evolve. I don't love every direction they've taken the X-Men and mutants in but as long as it's not motivated some corporate pettiness like the outcome of X-Men vs Avengers and changing the Maximoffs parentage because of movie rights shenanigans then I try to go with the flow.
I just got out of the hospital for a serious surgery but I'm tearing up all the paperwork my daughter would have gotten my money in my house and you brother Dave would have gotten all my Marvel Legends
Marvel is never going to pretend Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are Magneto's kids again. That was just a "brief" thing Magneto convinced them of for like 6 years (in-universe time), and now they've doubled down and tripled down on PROVING that they're not related. They've returned Wanda and Pietro to a version of their ORIGINAL (far more interesting) origin story, and are expanding loads on that original origin. Demons, Mt. Wundagore, Chthon, the Darkhold, Chaos magic, a whole lineage of Scarlet Witches, experimentation by the High Evolutionary, etc.... No generic "just born a mutant" story. Any notion of them being related to Magneto will soon be a footnote.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour First Wanda casts a spell that only affects her family/bloodline, and while it affected Quicksilver just fine, it didn't effect Magneto, which is how they FIRST discover that they're not even related whatsoever. And then later on Wanda and Pietro had a whole discussion with the High Evolutionary, and he was basically like "Yea, that's nonsense, you're not related to Magneto. You're not even mutants. I'm the one who kidnapped you from your real parents and amped up your powers. I'm the one who made all that crap up about Magneto being your father and you being mutants." Ands then they revealed that the Maximoff's who they THOUGHT were their parents were actually their aunt and uncle, and introduced their REAL mom, the previous Scarlet Witch, who's the REAL source of Wanda's powers (and probably Quicksilver's as a side effect, since he's her twin). And they show an email Magneto sent to Wanda where he admits that he knows he's not their real father.
I'm only like 8 months late but.... I've been collecting Legends for a couple of years now, so I don't have the oldest figures, but there are a few I regret not getting that were available for quite a while on Amazon or BBTS (namely, Nightcrawler and Archangel). Most figures that I don't have I'm okay not having but those are two I wish I did grab. I'm so glad that Hasbro is giving the Animated Series X-Men love now because I not only grew up watching the Animated Series but the designs are so classic. I tend to prefer MCU figures over comic ones (that's just me) but the Animated Series figures are 🤌🏼. I've noticed that compared to the first few, though, the newer revealed ones aren't as packed with accessories. I hope that's not a trend that continues. Also, I just sold my Hellfire Club set for 2.5 times what I paid and I'm not even the least bit upset about that. The figures were cool and all but.... Money!
Given the price rise I've personally sold my entire marvel legends and star wars collection. I'm happy to pay premium prices to build a classic marvel character collection in premium format. That's just me.
Love the council of Daves. I have both Psylock figures from SDCC and purple hair and love them both equally. I was a little surprised that Black Tom wasn’t the last figure because you had to lose a bet to win him. I turned down an offer for the first domino and dont regret it, even if the Xforce domino is copy cat it falls under the “I dont care” category, I WANT IT! I kitbashed the Adam warlock head with Archangel and I think it looks good. I wish they would release every magneto figure with that head you use from mother Black suit Magneto its perfect. Beast I had a guy custoimize a grey head into the blue and it is beautiful. This is a great recap. I like the way the damn retros have really bridged the gap between the Uber high priced figures like rogue and beast and added enough changes to make me want to keep both my rogues and both Beast figures. I happen to also like the new Emma Frost I just wish she was in white. Great list although I think it could have benefitted with a runner up section for characters like The Brood. Also, How dare you forget Magic, BOOO! J/K kinda…

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Nope. He didn't really wear it that much. I'm pretty sure he mostly wore it during the Dark Phoenix arc, and a decent chunk of season 3. He also wore it when he learned that Corsair was his father and when Archangel was trying to take down Apocalypse, and those were also S3 episodes.

25. The way I see it, if you have Nimrod, you don't need the Haslab Sentinel. Nimrod is the most powerful Sentinel. It's how I rationalized not buying Haslab Sentinels.
21. I found the Mystique at Walgreens when she was out, but it wasn't easy.
20. The Sabretooth figure is the right size for the character. People complained about Venom being on that mold too, but it was also the right size for Venom.
18. Mr. Sinister is a great looking figure, but that cape makes him very back-heavy and doesn't necessarily support his weight.
13. "I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me, and be broken!" That's the quote as far as I remember. He's my favorite villain.
10. I prefer the dark blue and metallic pink version, but both are great.
9. That's the worst of the three Iceman figures Hasbro has done. The AoA version that just came out is amazing.

Great list and I know you couldn't fit em all but besides Ilyana for me gotta also have Warpath, Thunderbird, Spiral, Toad, Longshot, Strong Guy, Cannonball, Boom Boom, Sunspot, Moira Mctaggert, and Banshee. Of course we need others but figures of them don't exist yet like Feral, Wolfsbane (I know the Dani Moonstar figure but I'm talking X-Factor version), and Siryn, but I think they're coming I just got a feeling.

I have my issues with the modern X-Men comics but you have to respect that the dynamics have to evolve. I don't love every direction they've taken the X-Men and mutants in but as long as it's not motivated some corporate pettiness like the outcome of X-Men vs Avengers and changing the Maximoffs parentage because of movie rights shenanigans then I try to go with the flow.
As a young black kid in the 90s seeing this commanding compassionate wise Storm was pretty affirming so I guess it's down to what matters to you.

Marvel is never going to pretend Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are Magneto's kids again.
That was just a "brief" thing Magneto convinced them of for like 6 years (in-universe time), and now they've doubled down and tripled down on PROVING that they're not related.
They've returned Wanda and Pietro to a version of their ORIGINAL (far more interesting) origin story, and are expanding loads on that original origin.
Demons, Mt. Wundagore, Chthon, the Darkhold, Chaos magic, a whole lineage of Scarlet Witches, experimentation by the High Evolutionary, etc....
No generic "just born a mutant" story.
Any notion of them being related to Magneto will soon be a footnote.

And then later on Wanda and Pietro had a whole discussion with the High Evolutionary, and he was basically like "Yea, that's nonsense, you're not related to Magneto. You're not even mutants. I'm the one who kidnapped you from your real parents and amped up your powers. I'm the one who made all that crap up about Magneto being your father and you being mutants."
Ands then they revealed that the Maximoff's who they THOUGHT were their parents were actually their aunt and uncle, and introduced their REAL mom, the previous Scarlet Witch, who's the REAL source of Wanda's powers (and probably Quicksilver's as a side effect, since he's her twin).
And they show an email Magneto sent to Wanda where he admits that he knows he's not their real father.

I'm only like 8 months late but....
I've been collecting Legends for a couple of years now, so I don't have the oldest figures, but there are a few I regret not getting that were available for quite a while on Amazon or BBTS (namely, Nightcrawler and Archangel). Most figures that I don't have I'm okay not having but those are two I wish I did grab.
I'm so glad that Hasbro is giving the Animated Series X-Men love now because I not only grew up watching the Animated Series but the designs are so classic. I tend to prefer MCU figures over comic ones (that's just me) but the Animated Series figures are 🤌🏼. I've noticed that compared to the first few, though, the newer revealed ones aren't as packed with accessories. I hope that's not a trend that continues.
Also, I just sold my Hellfire Club set for 2.5 times what I paid and I'm not even the least bit upset about that. The figures were cool and all but.... Money!

Given the price rise I've personally sold my entire marvel legends and star wars collection. I'm happy to pay premium prices to build a classic marvel character collection in premium format. That's just me.
Mafex are slowly releasing the entire "Infinity war" comic book collection. Im happy to pay for these.

Love the council of Daves. I have both Psylock figures from SDCC and purple hair and love them both equally. I was a little surprised that Black Tom wasn’t the last figure because you had to lose a bet to win him. I turned down an offer for the first domino and dont regret it, even if the Xforce domino is copy cat it falls under the “I dont care” category, I WANT IT! I kitbashed the Adam warlock head with Archangel and I think it looks good. I wish they would release every magneto figure with that head you use from mother Black suit Magneto its perfect. Beast I had a guy custoimize a grey head into the blue and it is beautiful. This is a great recap. I like the way the damn retros have really bridged the gap between the Uber high priced figures like rogue and beast and added enough changes to make me want to keep both my rogues and both Beast figures. I happen to also like the new Emma Frost I just wish she was in white. Great list although I think it could have benefitted with a runner up section for characters like The Brood. Also, How dare you forget Magic, BOOO! J/K kinda…

Nope. He didn't really wear it that much. I'm pretty sure he mostly wore it during the Dark Phoenix arc, and a decent chunk of season 3. He also wore it when he learned that Corsair was his father and when Archangel was trying to take down Apocalypse, and those were also S3 episodes.
