Marvel select is really doing a great job with making big hulking figures. The articulations may be limited but it’s just like u said we can just make them stand on our display, looking all menacing and towering over everyone. I’m so excited to get more figures from them especially that upcoming Apocalypse, man that figure looks great and I can’t wait to get it.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Yeah I’m planning on getting some extra hours at work too just to earn extra bucks for all the upcoming figures including Apocalypse.
Marvel Select Anti-Venom is the most dangerous figure I own. He can straight-up draw blood. As bad as the Legends version is, the Select is awesome (as long as you're okay with a little less articulation). Also, that base he comes with is perfect for Magneto. Liquified metal tendrils.
Actually hasbro made a Planet Hulk figure in the early years, I think it came out on Anihillus or FFF wave, some of the firsts waves released by Hasbro (2006-2007)
David Awesome comparative video 🥊🦾🎯 I really miss your awesome marvel legends display in the background. Thank you for making another awesome video ⭐️⚡️💫💫
Im a impulsive buyer but since I found your yt channel, Im a responsible buyer now. Thank you so much. I hope you get more successful at what you are doing.
Do get yourself the Select Abomination he's sooooo good even just for that menacing head sculpt alone.....and I fully agree the Watcher is one I'm definitely looking for...and just for giggles have a look at the Gamora and Rocket 2pk, obviously the Gamora is a little big but the Rocket is just so strangely lovely it's not perfect and you need to fix his legs, see Robo's review on the Fwoosh channel, but he's cool for sure....anyway enough of my rambling, too late I know but it's getting late and I'm several glasses into a bottle of Crown Royal so as always Dave, excellent video love your content keep up your model behavior mate!
The Marvel Select Titanium Man is what got me into collecting action figures recently, its so pure and perfect and i think scales beautifully with its legends counterparts
I picked up the Select Colossus before we got a Legends version. I’m thinking that I’ll be getting the new Apocalypse Select, it’s looking like it will be really good
I loved Planet Hulk, and the Thor: Ragnarok BAF version suits me just fine. He's not too much of a celebrity likeness, so he doesn't come across as being an odd-one-out. Definitely worth considering if you want the Sakaarson on your shelf.
An awesome Select list, David. Hopefully soon they'll release the Watcher. I have seen the rerelease of him on ebay but he is a bit pricey. Who knows.....I might pull the trigger and get him.
DDMB - fantastic video review. We not only share an admiration for the Diamond Big Boyz with Legends, but you've influenced this viewer enough to have almost the same SELECTions in the collection. Being a Marvel comic fan the scale on these ones are perfect for me. The Thing, Immortal Hulk, and Thor are really good looking together even though the posablility limits things. But who doesn't want a bigger Thing?
I've been a die-hard adamant Marvel Legends collector...but there are a few Marvel Selects in my collection now. Immortal Hulk, Human Torch (WWII version) and Titanium Man, with Uatu the Watcher on the way (c'mon, Select and BBTS! Gimme my Watcher!). After watching this, I'm going to have to add Colossus to this list now. EBay, here I come! Well done, Dave!
I think I'm slowly getting more into selects now, at least more interested in getting them, as they seem to have much better articulation from when I did buy them (I have colossus and classic thanos). I'm a big articulation guy so colossus is not my favourite
When I started collecting a couple yrs ago, I picked up the colossus fig. His costume didnt cover correctly on his chest. I liked that he and storm were in original costumes, but yeah, they sucked as figs. I ended up giving them and a couple other selects away. The one that I wont part with is Juggernaut. I like the Legends version just fine(got BAF and 2 pack). The Select version is pure grade A beef.
Another very interesting video, thanks. Agreed that monsters and armored guys fit very well with Marvel Legends. I got that old Marvel Selects Colossus and what a nice big figure. One you might think does not fit but kind of does if you put him a little in the back is the new Marvel Selects Human Torch. From the pre-release pictures, I thought it would be blah, quite mediocre, but in person, under proper lighting, turns out that it looks great with the translucent plastic and the flame effects. I mixed him in a battle with AoA Iceman and they look quite nice together.
Fantastic video. It's a really complete list. I would add to the list Mephisto, Thor, Cable, Ultron... I've Select and Legends and I love both, but generally Select are on another dimension in terms of painting and sculture despite the lack of articulation. Saludos desde España! ❤
Hi David, another great Video. I think the 9“ Hulk from Marvel Diamond Select fits even better. The bigger the better, right? Looking forward to your next video.
very very good list, the sabertooth one threw me for a loop when I first got him because my idea of sabertooth was always just slightly bigger than average human, never knew that he's supposed to look that big sometimes. LOL Absolutely love the abomination, I always use my abomination to illustrate how it is perfectly possible to make a really really big action figure without charging 50 or $60 for it.
Late to the show, but great channel nonetheless - really enjoying your content and style. So positive! Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but I thought Marvel Select's Ultimate Iron Man scales quite well with whatever Legends Ultimates characters they've released so far. The first version it represents was supposed to be a big armoured suit which needed a team of technicians to maintain and the 7" scale helps with that. Pity about the less than stellar articulation though although it looks fine for static displays. By contrast, Legends' Ultimate Iron Man was a bit of a hot mess. Long overdue for a Hasbro do-over (and the rest of the original Ultimates team too, of course!)
You sir, are a very very very bad man! I just bought the DST Imortal Hulk and now I want more! I don't collect legends but I want all of these bigboys and thanks to your dastardly video, I now know exactly where all my money is going for the next few months :)
Little late to the party on this one but I am very much a fan of the Immortal Hulk figure with Marvel Legends. I will say that I am a fan of the Hulk in general, he is one of my favorites of all time so I'll admit my bias but I love having that body diversity with the rest of the shelf. For instance, that Hulk with the BAF/Two Pack Juggernaut. Hulk should be bigger even if it's just by a bit. Then there's The Thing, I have my Walgreens Exclusive, he's just the right size for Thing to look up and Hulk to look down at eye line, makes a solid dynamic one on one fighting display. As for human characters, if you have that one Thor that's a bit on the larger scale with a few standing in front and maybe Spider-man doing a crouch pose and Wolverine in a horse stance with his claws out, you have an awesome diverse group shot. This is getting further off the main topic and is solely just my personal opinion that I don't mean to step on anyone else's but I think MCU has trained our brains to think of Hulk as just a big dude. We're back to the Lou Ferrigno days. Don't get me wrong, loved the history there and what they were able to do with just a swole body builder but I think Hulk fans have always been waiting for a larger than life green mountain of a dude. Sad the distribution rights with Disney have been what they've been and we haven't been able to see Hulk in his own fully funded modern MCU solo movie. Anyway, enough of my Hulk soapbox. Great video man!
Hey I'm totally with you on the soap box brother. I was disappointed to see Hulk in the She-Hulk trailer looking so average. He just looked like a 'big guy'/ I want my huge savage Hulk back!
Excellent list, for sure! I definitely wouldn't dispute any of those choices, whether I'd invest in all of them or not. In my collection, I personally have the Abomination, Rhino, Destroyer, Juggernaut & Colossus, but I also have Marvel Legends of Juggernaut & Colossus, so I can use the same character in more than one display. I'd really like a BAF Rhino too, so I'm REALLY hoping THAT figure is coming again SOON!!! Abomination ISN'T a fave character or villain for me, BUT he IS an iconic HULK villain, so... Selects to the rescue until Hasbro gets him RIGHT...!! Destroyer is big & bulky, so he works nicely, but also, I'm currently doing a little paint, to get a darker looking, more comic accurate custom kitbash, to facilitate the time in the comics where Thor inhabited the armor for awhile. So, a little black paint, silver highlights, cape, Mjolnir, and hopefully a belt... I JUST completed the BAF Watcher, in case a Selects Watcher isn't possible, but my preference IS the Selects version. I'm ALSO very much wanting, the Titanium Man for my Winter Guard team. . .
Oh yeah, got the Select Hulk and Juggernaut on my shelf and when it's time to add Abomination, that's the one. Also, I think there'll be a Select Apocalypse this year and that's what I plan to replace the old Toybiz 9" Apocalypse from the 90s that currently represents him on my shelf.
My Favorite Selects that I have are the Jurggernaut, Mephisto, Watcher, the Destroyer, Thor, Immortal Hulk, Colossus, Thanos w Death, Captain Marvel, Ultron, Abomination, Titanium Man, the Human Torch love the fire effects as you can see I really go for the big figures I never needed Rhino cause I had the BAF and the Thing just looks fat, I really like the Mezco Galdiator Hulk
If you every get a chance to get the Mephisto , I once asked one of Diamond Select people at New York comic con if they would every redo the Watcher and Mephisto and he said they would do Watcher before big M because of the throne he said Mephisto throne was very intricate and have and a lot of plastic look at what Hasbro did with the twentieth anniversary Iron man they went from plastic display to cardboard, I’m not saying they’ll never do a Mephisto it just won’t be as nice or as detailed, it may have more articulation but I think that will be it, look at what they did with the New M.O.D.O.k. Compared to the old one articulations better but the detailing is better on the old one ,I would love to see what Selects could do with High Evolutionary, Psycho man, Blastarr, Mad thinker and the Awesome Android, Dragon man, Super Adaptiod, the Mimic ,Attuma, and Orca and let’s not forget Mojo & Spiral and it’s about time they put out a two pack.
Select is a good line of action figures yes, select immortal hulk is my favorite hulk but having said that I can not stand those hip joints on select venom
A while back, I missed the Legends Jim Lee Rogue, and ended up buying the Diamond Select Rogue not knowing its scale. I can make it work, but yeah she BIG
Agree with all the suggestions! The main ones I highly suggest are the juggernaut, Hulk buster, Sand Man, and Venom. Sand man easily beats the Legends BAF, and even the retro. I love the Legends Venom, but I've always found his shins to be way too short.
I got the Select Avengers Endgame smart Hulk. Now, I'm just waiting for BBTS to get stock of the Immortal Hulk re-release and send me mine that I ordered. But, I thought smart Hulk isn't as tall as regular Hulk. As in, smart Hulk meets in the middle kind of thing. Am I right? Will I have to replace Select smart Hulk with a Legends smart Hulk? Or, is smart Hulk and a regular Hulk supposed to be the same height?
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour But, are the two MCU versions supposed to be the same height, is what I'm wondering? The Eric Bana Hulk seemed to be like 10-15 feet tall. The army tank he spins around and throws looked small to him. And one scene Hulk seemed eye level with the second floor window of a house. In Ultimate Alliance 3 for Switch Hulk is hunched over and looks like he's not much taller and it's mostly his bulk that makes him massive to others.
Titanium Man is going on the list of characters who look eerily like real people - in this case, Eric Cantona. Others include Quasar - Robert Redford, and 20th Anniversary Tony Stark, A.K.A. Charles Bronson.
The thing about larger than normal characters, is you don't really need super poseability for them, nobody expects the Thing to do splits and somersaults, he just needs to be able to clobber. Same with most of these larger figures, outside of maybe Venom/Carnage or the Lizard, the need for great range in posing is not really a thing. I have a few of these for the reasons that this video mentions, they work with Legends. Although as David pointed out, there is a bit of a disconnect in the quality of paint jobs and detail of the sculpt when you put them side by side, but I can live with that. (Sadly I'm missing out on a couple of the characters I want the most... Lizard and Rhino most notably (don't have any version of either character) (have Uatu on order, but it's been forever so who knows what is going on with that. I asked Dorkside toys and their response was a generic reply of it's still pending.)
@@Tyler_Lalonde- As someone who works retail, I'm hoping that the issue is about the backlog in shipping from China and California bays. (I work for a company that has stated that the normal unload fee for a container has gone from $2000 to $20,000 this year to get any preferential treatment... I don't think that the toy industry is as much locked into making sure that product is on the shelves as quickly, it's not seasonal other than the generic "christmas" thing... but my company had to up their spending since their product was seasonal decor and has a shelf life that is necessary to be on the shelves to sell before Christmas) (The comment is that there is a wait in the harbors of California of enough containers that they would go from California to Chicago... Some ships are actually leaving the California coast to go to the Florida coast because unload times are better there)
for me for some characters I have no choice but to use the legends there so cheap than the legends. like Psylocke, I am not going to spend 60 70 80 90, or 100 on her just because she has Jim lee color so I got the triple pack one as a replacement for my select then I put my select one on my select shelf. also, I don't mind bootleg figures too I buy them because they're cheaper I have my legends in one pose for like 1 year. I only change then 1 every year also I do like my tall characters tall so I buy the select also scale doesn't matter to me sometimes some characters are supposed to be tall. I got for select colossus because he is the one I grew up with the comics the legends two-pack or the juggernaut wave one would fit in a new mutants shelf I think that's how they view colossus and he fit in an x-men animated evolution shelf too magneto I got select venom select hulk rival abomination select there no legends? red she-hulk i got the 2012 legends some characters I even buy from older waves in 2012 too. sorry i don't speak English as my main language i am Hispanic mix i am Puerto Rican Honduran Floridan American mix yea i was born too speak English in my mom house i lean how too wright and speak Spanish so sorry and yup i grew up wit the animated series off x-men or marvel ingeneral like for me it be hard too complete the blue and gold team i might had too do some custom ones .
This video was made years before that figure came out but I do actually own that Apocalypse. I haven’t been able to open him yet though as he’s in England.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour someone didn’t collect the annihilus wave, planet hulk came with his head and there was a variation with the metal arm. Which is the more expensive one. But we can both be right if you want 😂😂😂
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour To each his own, but at 8 inches, scale-wise for me, he still fits Colossus' height in armored form. Also, like the Thing and a bunch of other big Marvel dudes, doesn't his size change depending on the artist's interpretation? Anyway, I'm still happy with that Colossus, and he stands out more in the back of a X-Men roster. Glad I didn't have to get that two-pack with Juggernaut since I already had the Juggernaut BAF.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour By the way, if I find a part on an action figure or something else hard to put on, I use my “Piledriver technique”. Let’s say I have a Hulk, maybe his head is really hard to put on? I’ll lightly put the head on (Not stable) and then force it against the ground, making it stable. After that, the head stays on really well and it hasn’t damaged the figure in any way.
I agree with most of your list, as time has passed pretty accurate. I only disagree with thing, hes only supposed to be 5'10"to 6'4' weighing 500 pounds. Otherwise has proven, spot on!!!!!👍👍👍
The Marvel Select Hulk is better than than the Marvel Legends Hulk, but he’s too big IMO. He scales fine with regular figures, but the illusion is broken when you pose him with large Marvel Legends. I don’t care who’s drawing, Hulk should never tower over Juggernaut, Rulk, etc.
You’re one of the cheeriest, most enthusiastic action figure TH-camrs I’ve ever seen. I love the positive vibe.

Yeah they reek of early 2000’s style.
A while back, I missed the Legends Jim Lee Rogue, and ended up buying the Diamond Select Rogue not knowing its scale. I can make it work, but yeah she BIG
Sometimes you can fudge them in!
IMO the Disney Store Thor (with spinning Mjolnir) and the new Loki (with kid loki) could also make this list
Ah interesting. I'll look them up!
They actually did make a planet Hulk and WWH marvel legends action figure, just look up on TH-cam and you will find it 👍🏼
Agree with all the suggestions! The main ones I highly suggest are the juggernaut, Hulk buster, Sand Man, and Venom. Sand man easily beats the Legends BAF, and even the retro. I love the Legends Venom, but I've always found his shins to be way too short.
Ah yeah I know what you mean about Venom
They should re-do juggs with immortal hulk body
Hmm that’d be interesting to see.
Cup o coffee in da big time
Big time coffee!
I accidentally bought a KO Rhino. He’s not bad but I don’t think I want him anymore. I’d rather wait for legends to re-release.
Oh yeah I had him with the BAF head on. That worked quite well.
I think you're right actually. Hulk gets bigger the angrier he is and smart Hulk isn't that mad.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour
But, are the two MCU versions supposed to be the same height, is what I'm wondering?
Oh shoot he does doesn’t he?!
I have a big chunky thing! I have that Ben Grimm figure too! 😆
Lol ha!
I've only got 2 Selects Sabretooth & Juggernaut and I've got them together with my other MLegends Villains 🍻
Oh they go so perfectly with Legends!
Amazon supposedly received the Watcher but haven't ship it yet.
@@Tyler_Lalonde- As someone who works retail, I'm hoping that the issue is about the backlog in shipping from China and California bays.
(I work for a company that has stated that the normal unload fee for a container has gone from $2000 to $20,000 this year to get any preferential treatment... I don't think that the toy industry is as much locked into making sure that product is on the shelves as quickly, it's not seasonal other than the generic "christmas" thing... but my company had to up their spending since their product was seasonal decor and has a shelf life that is necessary to be on the shelves to sell before Christmas)
(The comment is that there is a wait in the harbors of California of enough containers that they would go from California to Chicago... Some ships are actually leaving the California coast to go to the Florida coast because unload times are better there)
Hopefully 2022 brings lots of great Selects!
for me for some characters I have no choice but to use the legends there so cheap than the legends. like Psylocke, I am not going to spend 60 70 80 90, or 100 on her just because she has Jim lee color so I got the triple pack one as a replacement for my select then I put my select one on my select shelf. also, I don't mind bootleg figures too I buy them because they're cheaper I have my legends in one pose for like 1 year.
Hi David, how much did you pay that Scorpion in background?
Nothing, he’s happy to stand there for free :)
Seriously though I think he was about £80 from a Hong Kong ebay seller.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviourThanks. I am thinking into buying him
I'm waiting for Amazon to ship Watcher. Either they are waiting for a release date or they sold more then they have.
The wait is killing me!
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour they just sent an email asking me to allow a delay in shipping.
The marvel select thanos is actually going for 23$ on eBay right now
That's a good deal
Marvel Select Sabretooth is still the best figure out there. Wish Diamond Select would make an Age Of Apocalypse version
you should get the marvel select imortal hulk
I'm looking!
Is the apocalypse select not on this list ? I would love to know your thoughts about how it scales with the legends
This video was made years before that figure came out but I do actually own that Apocalypse. I haven’t been able to open him yet though as he’s in England.
Love your videos, but marvel legends did do that gladiator hulk figure. It was in the Annihilation wave. Check it out fam
That’s MCU good brother, I’m talking 616! (You could say we’re both right ;) )
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour someone didn’t collect the annihilus wave, planet hulk came with his head and there was a variation with the metal arm. Which is the more expensive one. But we can both be right if you want 😂😂😂
Major Justice is Vance Astro.
lol
Lol nicely done!
Cool vid
I would add beta ray bill marvel select/diamond select 😊
Definitely!
They’re so cool! Do you think Colossus scales well?
I think he scales perfectly. It's been a mainstay of my X-Men roster for quite some time.
Apparently he's slightly bigger than some folks like.
We all know select Juggernaut fits well with legends and Hulk
We sure do
I was going to get the select Sabertooth, but I bought the AOA marvel legends one because he was 10$.
That’s my favourite Sabretooth
Do you think that the new Marvel select Vision will fit with Legends?
He might be a bit too tall
Why don’t we get more silver age figures????
I know I’d buy them!
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour lots of people I know stop buying marvel legends because we are being deprived of the silver age
Could you do as told by toys maximum carnage
That has been requested on Patreon (That’s one of the perks) so you can expect that soon!
I see what you did there.
Lol you caught it!
What Thanos is that ? in the beginning of video by juggernaut ?
Mezco
do you think select thanos would be good size compared to legends?
Personally I do. He’s a little bigger but for me that’s only a good thing
6:00 shart?
Little cameo :)
So Titanium Man is basically Zangief without the Mohawk if he doesn’t wear is armor?
Yep!
Otherwise has proven, spot on!!!!!👍👍👍
Thanks brother
Amazon cancelled my watcher pre-order 😭😭😭
Oh no! That doesn't bode well!
Man....Selects are so much better looking detailed sculpt, than Legends that look lazy in comparison to it
I totally know what you mean!
Hmmm I can totally see that logic.
When you click on the video please immediately hit that like button at the very least
That's good advice for anyone!
I'm a purist. There are Legends and Selects and never the twain shall meet! Are you from Ulster, David?
Never cross the streams! Ulster? No, although I am quarter Irish.
Amazon cancelled my watcher order, like all Marvel Select Pre orders so far. Am I the only one?
Oh no! That doesn't bode well!
Juggs is awsome tho
Still one of the best ever!
My select gladiator hulk fits perfectly
He’s one of the best!
