Finally, a 90’s X-Men fan puts together the definitive collection and grouping for these figures. That was my favorite era of X-Men along with the Children of the Atom, X-Men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes for the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Great score!
White Queen does appear in the final level boss rush as well. I agree she definitely counts! 👍🏻 I just realized mystique was in the game but not the show. lol
Fun Fact: When the Arcade Game first came out I played it to death at my local arcade for almost that entire summer… But I had NO IDEA it was based on a one shot TV show! Congrats on getting this figure set complete! Very cool to see faithful (For the most part) recreations that fit the show and game so well!
You're not the only one who wants to form their own Marvel Legends X-Men team. For me, it's started off with the VHS line Cyclops and then the rest of the VHS line, and then I almost have the same Brotherhood of Mutant group which I also have the White Queen from that 4 pack a long time ago, then Toad, Pyro, Blob and the Juggernaut. Only left Magneto which I probably get from the X-men 97 line. My X-men team consists of the 90s animated team that is a mixture of the VHS line and the normal Marvel legends line. Fist bump for completing one of your favourite childhood teams!
I like your attitude with modern toys. Get in, buy the specific thing you want, get out. I admire that in a world where some companies prioritize and exploit the hardcores.
So awesome that you were able to complete this Pryde of X-Men villains team. I played the shit out of the arcade game and rented the vhs tape many times
Congrats on getting the collection together! I played that game so much in the arcade as a kid. Love it. Just now, thanks to you, realizing that was Nimrod in the game haha.
When I was a young teen it my brother was the one who collected X-Men comics in the 90s BUT I hung out in the arcades a lot and that's where I first encountered the X-Men. I ALWAYS died before I got to the next boss after The Blob. (also, back then I was shocked to see that the White Queen was basically just wearing a corset and underwear- haha) Never knew I'd end up actually drawing for comics!
Very cool set you've put together there and I love the theme of it. I was introduced to the X-Men through the comics sometime in 1991, so not even a year before the arcade game came out, with that interest coming from familiarity I had from having the Wolverine figure from Secret Wars along with Spider-Man and Captain America. On top of that, I was pretty obsessed with Konami's Turtles arcade game when that was new, and I still think it's a great game. Naturally I was pretty psyched about X-Men arcade, though I was not aware of the cartoon pilot on which it was based. I didn't see the X-Men cabinets around quite as often as Turtles, and that was probably more popular due to the cartoon and movie being huge at the time and beat-em-up games being more popular in 1989, but I did see the small cabinets around quite a bit. The big six-player cabinets were less common, but a local shop had one in a back room briefly. It was pretty cramped in there as a result, but I remember getting in on a full six-player game and we beat it. As I was the last person to join, naturally I was Dazzler. I still play the game pretty often as it's one of my favorites. I can play it over and over, sometimes multiple times in a row if it's one of those days, and I just never get tired of it. Looking back, I'm glad I was stuck with Dazzler, as she's got a nice sense of style in the game, and I think she's the second best character in the game for my style behind Wolverine.
*GASP!* You said the 'T-word!' I'm tellin' Al!!! Seriously, I really enjoyed this video, just as I enjoyed the other retrospective by you and the great Mr. Alonso. I remember seeing that lost cartoon in a comic shop in Lawrenceville back in the early 90s. All I could think at the time was, Damn, Kitty's really whiny. And loud. Why did they want her, again?
Fun, informative and entertaining video from RetroBlasting, featuring the Marvel Legends Brotherhood Of Mutant Terrorists action figures. And what a great act of kindness and helping hand, from Sal.
Same cushions. I first learned about the X-Men from the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends episode and then the Pride of the X-Men episode/pilot you mentioned. Cool assist from Sal.
I love building specific versions of teams using Marvel Legends. It isn't goofy but certain versions of teams will resonate with you. Congratulations on building your team.
I'm in that same boat, knowing of the comics but never having read them, the most I knew of them was through the arcade game, which I got to play with my dad often when he'd take us for the weekend.
kudos to this video, the story telling and entertainment value definitely sold it..its funny some TH-camrs showing off a thousand figures and they get 500 views, and a selective video of 9 figures got 12,000..lol!...definitely smart way to showcase your figures..
The costumes on both teams on that cartoon and game are my favorites. So awesome to see these figures! Thanks for your great videos as always, you make me smile always!
That cabinet was pornographically overpriced from day one. When the TMNT cabinet was almost half the cost and the Star Wars one (which I own) was also hundreds cheaper --- No thanks.
Hey Michael, I really respect that you embrace your childhood nostalgia and live life doing what you want. You’re intelligent and yet, you know where life and happiness SHOULD be, while knowing how much “adult life” is really a sack of fake shit! I commend you my friend. I wish we could be friends in life! Take care and keep LIVING! - William
Personally I'm more of a Jim Lee era X-Men fan, but I gotta admit that when it comes to the roster of villains, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants roster from the Pryde cartoon and game is top-teir. Nothing can beat this cast of characters here.
Personally I have a Pryde display with many of these same villains, and a 90's Animated display too. Totally get it, and love it. Nice scores. That white queen only coming out in that 4 pack was so annoying.
They actually released a new white queen figure just recently. It was an easy one to miss, but she's a good one, based on John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men run. The Multipack exclusive is a far better fit for your set though.
Congratulations Michael! ⚡❤️💯 I have loved your channel since 2017. I really miss those older episodes where you would do restoration, if I remember you do have a plethora of older, informative and good step by step tutorial videos. ❤️ This.
😅😅😅 It happens to us all brother! One moment the companies leave you wondering if they are going to follow up. . . Then a freight train of missed figs pop up outta nowhere! I'm having that issue with a company little called Joy Toy. . .😂😂😂 👍🏾👍🏾💯🔥
I just received an Arcade1up X-men cab yesterday. Basically the only unit I care to get in the A1U unless they ever come out with a Lucky and Wild one.
If you want a more classic Wendingo, I imagine Hasbro will eventually get around to doing a new one. I'd just hold off until then. Unless you can get that '08 release for a good price, of course.
I love getting to assemble figure representations of teams, scenes, and the like! Very cool. I would wager a high bet that the 2008 Wendigo would be too small compared to the rest of the set since early Hasbro legends were on the shorter size of 6 inch, where they seem to have gotten on the larger side of the scale in recent years.
Not a follower or collector of the X-men but I do enjoy your passion for this collection and your smile at the end topped it off and knowing a fellow collector could help you , makes this a feel good story for sure
I always used Dazzler in the arcade game as well. I loved using her "light bomb" attack that would cause damage to nearly all the enemies onscreen. I think it was the best area damage attack in the game (although Colossus' attack was also powerful). Best character in that gane, imo!
As cliche as it sounds, I was a Nightcrawler go-to like almost everyone else. But it wasn't just because of his play style, and even having the best special/mutant attack. He was already my 2nd favorite X-Man from the comics. (Only behind metal-wings Archangel!) But Dazzler was absolutely my 2nd choice go-to in the arcade game! If for no other reason, she would LITERALLY kick the soldiers, monsters, etc.. while they were down, and it looked hilarious! 😅 But I have often said that Dazzler herself as a character is very underrated. Not only because she was a part of just about every significant X-Men arc through the 80's and 90's, but I have just always LOVED the concept/power of how the louder it is....the more powerful she becomes!
Great video! I'm still trying to complete my version of the Brotherhood. I regret not grabbing that Toad you have. I have the Walgreens exclusive White Queen, but she will do for now.
The irony ... I was on vacation a month ago and visited a classic arcade and I actually played the X-Men game!!! An idea to display these maybe is to find a backdrop from the arcade game....???
It’s great seeing someone complete a group of figures they want. A classic pink translucent Nimrod would be great. I think he had bots with him to help fight(in comics).
I think so as well. I was an X-Men comics fan since the mid-80's, and it almost confused me as well. (I almost even confused Wendigo for Sabretooth! hahaha)I think it was because it was during a very fluid time in X-Men 'canon' as well. Similar to how Michael brilliantly pointed out in his X-Men video where it seemed like everything from the Pryde of the X-Men era of X-Men media, often took its cues from the EARLY to mid-80's X-Men era. Instead of what was contemporary in the comics at the time.
It honestly looks like a cross between the upper torso and head of the Uncanny X-Men 246 Mastermold and the lower body plus forearms of Nimrod. Makes sense in a way because both characters merged in that storyline, but its a cool game design overall.
Very cool "quest complete" grouping of baddies. I dig the Nimrod design that came with the X-Force era Psylocke and Fantomex (aka The Masked Rando) three pack, and it's a fine stand in for the game version.
I personally have Nimrod in my cobbled together Sentinels. My Sentinels are pretty pathetic. I have; 1 Old Toy Biz 12" Sentinel 4 of the 3.75 scale Sentinels 3 Omega Sentinels (I have a 4th as heroic Rebel Sentinel Tara Matrix) 1 3-Head Sentinel Nimrod as Nimrod Prime 5 Toy Biz Nimrods as Nimrod Drones I'm hoping to get some of these Titan Sentinels. At least improve my bigger ones.
I always thought the arcade version of Nimrod looked like a cross between 90's Master Mold and Ahab. I don't remember Nimrod ever actually looking like that.
@@retroblasting I know you're right regarding how they refer to the boss. It just feels off model for the character from most other media. On digging a little, it's sort of a scaled down version of the character's appearance in 2 issues of Uncanny X-Men (246 and 247) when he merged with the Sentinel Master Mold.
Have you checked some of the third parties out there to see if there is a better sculpted more accurate head for the BAF to make Wendigo more game accurate??
Nice haul! Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists. Now that is a term we won't hear or read anymore. It's much like the byline for Cobra. Before it was a ruthless terrorist organization but after 9/11 Hasbro shied away from the word terrorist and supplanted it with criminal. Not the same ring to it I'd say. I miss those years. My high school friends played that game like crazy. Luckily I have it and every other game I adored on MAME emulator now. Watching this I can't help but remember the Avengers game which came out before this. My friends and I always couldn't help ourselves quoting that game. "Thank you Wonder Man!" "Wasp!" Oh man. Those were the days. I didn't have a pot to piss in but how I miss them so.
My Brotherhood of Evil Mutants is currently at about 20 Members; 19 Mutants and Juggernaut, who is not a Mutant. But, I fudge and lie and cheat! I have certain non-villains as Members because I either don't like them or I have no connection to them. So, I am a rare person who doesn't like Deadpool, so he's a member. Lady Deadpool is a member. I have no connections to Chamber (with a cool headswap), or Kid Omega, or Darwin, so they are Members. Also, 4 of the Wolverine 5-Pack with a headswapped Wolverine fudged as another Evil Son of Wolverine I call Wolfshead. Daughters of Wolverine, X-23 and Wild Thing are good, Sons are all evil.
The price for The Blob currently is keeping me from picking it up. I kitbashed my own classic Magneto since none of the ML versions have been quite right.
Michael, I really enjoyed this video. I’m patiently awaiting a single release of that Magneto, as I passed on that 3pk. Now I have an urge to go visit my local barcade and put a couple of hours of X-Men in. 🍻
Michael, I have the earlier Wendigo in my display case. Mine isnt grey. It is white with shades of grey. That pic of the Wendigo you found online is definitely off in color.
Man I see this set and the arcade x-men and it makes me REALLY want to put this set together as well! I too would struggle with Wendigo! That said... I personally would probably get the Wendigo that looks right and try to find a customizer friend to make the colors right.
Hey Michael, you’ve heard of Ramen right? Not the food, that Toy company that makes 3rd party toys of the eighties. Such as Centurians, Silverhawks, Bravestar. And of course, that over expensive Thunderhawk from MASK. Anyway, I remember your MASK video of Shark, and have seen promos of what appears to be an upcoming Shark they plan on releasing. And from what I’ve seen, the two fins that pop up from the hood, seem to be spring activated. Rather than attachments. Would that ever interest you?
it happens that I liked the 2 pack Colossus - Juggernaut, so I got it. but I never could find this white Queen version. no doubt the best one. a cool looking team assembled, congrats bro! I only pick the stuff I like best, I m pretty much only missing Dr Doom classic and silver surfer. just got the old ironman suit a few weeks ago, I love it! it s just sad that his hands can t grab anything though. but he looks fab next to classic Ultron. good show bro.
You're the 50th nerd in the comments of this video to make that claim, when you need to be talking to FUCKING KONAMI and the X-MEN ARCADE WIKI about it! They call him Nimrod! Take your stupid "actually" where it might count for something. - Michael
Michael. There is a sphinx based Power Rangers Figure from Hasbro that kind of works for a Living Monolith.. And even though she didn't debut her costume in PRYDE of the X-Men.. or the game she was in the toon & it's title theme. You need Kitty Pryde with dragon Lockheed.
They look great displayed together
Now you just need to wait for Hasbro to release a “Pride” version of Kitty and Professor X!
On the plus side, they finally gave Juggernaut more rubescent Ruby Bands of Cyttorak.
White Queen does appear in the final level boss rush as well. I agree she definitely counts! 👍🏻
I just realized mystique was in the game but not the show. lol

Ah, Michael's Wallet! WELCOME TO DIE!
Accurate
I have to say I love these kinds of collection videos where you break down a group of characters.
Congrats on getting the collection together! I played that game so much in the arcade as a kid. Love it. Just now, thanks to you, realizing that was Nimrod in the game haha.

That Dazzler was the one I grew up with. I loved everything about her, from the haircut to the jacket. It's a shame that look was abandoned.

Not to mention that 1st Juggernaut is like a down payment on a house. Lol That build a figure wave is over $500

I’m always excited when he does X-men content
Nice set Magneto and the Juggernaut are my favorite !!! Micheal did you own the X-men arcade 1up yet ???
Too expensive a cabinet. No reason it should be twice the amount that TMNT went for.
@@retroblastingMaybe because it needs 2 screens. ?
You need to get the arcade 1up X-men to go with that collection. Put them all on top, like the old pinball machine toppers
That cabinet was pornographically overpriced from day one. When the TMNT cabinet was almost half the cost and the Star Wars one (which I own) was also hundreds cheaper --- No thanks.

I’m in the same boat, generation-wise. I knew nothing about comic books, especially X-Men. I did know the arcade game, but only that it was very hard.
😅😅😅
It happens to us all brother!

Great video! I'm still trying to complete my version of the Brotherhood. I regret not grabbing that Toad you have. I have the Walgreens exclusive White Queen, but she will do for now.
Another informative and interesting video. Enjoy how you peice together what you want out of your figures and collection.
The irony ... I was on vacation a month ago and visited a classic arcade and I actually played the X-Men game!!! An idea to display these maybe is to find a backdrop from the arcade game....???
Lucky with the white queen! Wish hasbro would make some of these figures easier to get, instead of making a ton of spiderman repaints!
Congratulations Michael om completing your Brotherhood set 👏
my husband loves the 90s animated series i want to get him everything involved with the series
That Toad is rad.
Great collection, the brotherhood of evil mutants is one of the best teams of villain ever created of all time
It’s great seeing someone complete a group of figures they want. A classic pink translucent Nimrod would be great. I think he had bots with him to help fight(in comics).
Pretty sure the Nimrod featured in the arcade game is actually Master Mold from the comics.
I think so as well. I was an X-Men comics fan since the mid-80's, and it almost confused me as well. (I almost even confused Wendigo for Sabretooth! hahaha)I think it was because it was during a very fluid time in X-Men 'canon' as well. It honestly looks like a cross between the upper torso and head of the Uncanny X-Men 246 Mastermold and the lower body plus forearms of Nimrod. Makes sense in a way because both characters merged in that storyline, but its a cool game design overall.
I completely forgot that Living Monolith was even in that game.
There has to be a 3d printable classic Wendigo head for the BAF. Anyway, the set looks great.
Awesome video! Are you going to do a video on the Eternia's Choice Fan Vote?
Very cool "quest complete" grouping of baddies. I dig the Nimrod design that came with the X-Force era Psylocke and Fantomex (aka The Masked Rando) three pack, and it's a fine stand in for the game version.
I’d never even seen a Nimrod and didn’t know a figure had been made. Nice collection!
I personally have Nimrod in my cobbled together Sentinels. My Sentinels are pretty pathetic. I have;
1 Old Toy Biz 12" Sentinel
4 of the 3.75 scale Sentinels
3 Omega Sentinels (I have a 4th as heroic Rebel Sentinel Tara Matrix)
1 3-Head Sentinel
Nimrod as Nimrod Prime
5 Toy Biz Nimrods as Nimrod Drones
I'm hoping to get some of these Titan Sentinels. At least improve my bigger ones.
Very cool. Sal is very generous.
I wonder if anyone has made a custom head for the newer Wendigo?
Any toy collection needs to have the heros and the villians.
I always thought the arcade version of Nimrod looked like a cross between 90's Master Mold and Ahab. I don't remember Nimrod ever actually looking like that.
All of the gaming and X-Men websites list that arcade boss as "Nimrod."

I did the same thing! But I’m using an MCU Mystique and Diamond Select Juggernaut.

Great figures! That was Nimrod in the game?! I always thought it was Master Mold.
Not according to gaming and Xmen sites.
I thought the brown suited Juggernaut was the BAF fig? I have the BAF only
Blob is one of my pics for figure of the year. He's so good. Nice looking teams you got there.
The price for The Blob currently is keeping me from picking it up. I kitbashed my own classic Magneto since none of the ML versions have been quite right.
Such a cool grouping of villains, i think im gonna fire the game up this weekend 🤘
Reavers aside, it's kind of fitting you're missing One hero and One Villain (Kitty and The Living Monolith)
I have a Kitty.... just not the right outfit. I have the Shadowcat figure from the Excalibur figure set.
Thanks. I'll pick up the 2008 one and see how it goes.
Man I see this set and the arcade x-men and it makes me REALLY want to put this set together as well! I too would struggle with Wendigo! That said... I personally would probably get the Wendigo that looks right and try to find a customizer friend to make the colors right.
I have both that Wendigo
Hey Michael, you’ve heard of Ramen right? Not the food, that Toy company that makes 3rd party toys of the eighties. Such as Centurians, Silverhawks, Bravestar. And of course, that over expensive Thunderhawk from MASK.
Anyway, I remember your MASK video of Shark, and have seen promos of what appears to be an upcoming Shark they plan on releasing. And from what I’ve seen, the two fins that pop up from the hood, seem to be spring activated. Rather than attachments.
Would that ever interest you?
Unfortunately, Ramen told me it will be out of scale with the vintage Kenner toys, so it holds little interest for me.
@@retroblasting That blows. Thanks for replying.
it happens that I liked the 2 pack Colossus - Juggernaut, so I got it.
but I never could find this white Queen version.
no doubt the best one.
a cool looking team assembled, congrats bro!
I only pick the stuff I like best, I m pretty much only missing Dr Doom classic and silver surfer.
just got the old ironman suit a few weeks ago, I love it!
it s just sad that his hands can t grab anything though.
but he looks fab next to classic Ultron.
good show bro.
8:13 That's Master mold
You're the 50th nerd in the comments of this video to make that claim, when you need to be talking to FUCKING KONAMI and the X-MEN ARCADE WIKI about it! They call him Nimrod! Take your stupid "actually" where it might count for something. - Michael
Cool!
I have the Shadowcat with Lockheed from the Excalibur figure set.
@@retroblasting outstanding !
You mean the brotherhood of Evil Mutants
No, watch the video again and LISTEN to what Magneto says Mr. Gotcha Without a Clue.
NICE!!!
