He's been letting me have the pick through his "vault", and he always gives me a good price. Plus he's got buddy who owns a toy shop that sells used and new stuff so luckily hasn't been TOO difficult to find them. Just still a lot to buy 😅

I also would put some of Spidey's alternate costumes as honorable optional mentions. I always thought as a Spidey collector, you should have at least one other alternate suit since he is known to change things up when necesarry. That Retro Spidey Armor is a must have as well

Yep shartimus is garbage compared to David I’ll never watch another action figure TH-camr other than David thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Both Spider-Man games for the Playstation were awesome! Having Electro as the main villain for the sequel was surprising, but makes sense considering how powerful he is. He's one of my favorite retro figures. I use Storm's lightning bolts around his arms and legs (needed two Storm figures for that).
I did exactly the same with my bald electro! He looks great with the blue lightning!
Righteous list, David! You know, these list would make great little books for fans and collectors. A nice, full body picture with some backstory included would make a good reference and read.

Funny thing about a lot of these villains is they were huuuuge peg warmers like 3-4 years ago, I have all of them (except Hobgoblin, who I happen to have always loved, wish Hasbro had just rereleased the first one instead of this new one), I’ve been a big Spider-Man fan since I was a kid so they were must have for me

They all also fight spidey. Boomerang, Speed Demon and the New Beetle are in a group with other spidey villains in their own comic the Superior Foes of Spider-Man. And like he says in the video taskmaster is in a lot of modern spidey comics

Good list. Long time comic book collector just getting into legends. There has been many iterations or phases of Peter Parker/Spider's life. One of them I like to call Iron Man Jr. or wealthy Peter Parker. There has always been contention on how Peter Parker should be handled, should he be a news reporter struggling or should he doing his science stuff and making money off it like Tony Stark?
Anyways looking at your list made me think the Sinister Syndicate aka Superior Spider-Foes (Female Beetle, Boomerang, Speed demon, Shocker etc) would have been perfect alongside characters like Silver Sable and Paladin for that period of Spider-man and although he's no longer wealthy would still like to see him in that sort of mercenary adventure. The Spider-Foes unlike the Six aren't necessarily evil and trying to kill him but rather just a bunch of dirt bags trying to make money. The Syndicate is similar to Flash's Rogues gallery. Also sort of like Villains that Tony Stark would fight considering their tech based but no one he'd take serious. Which again comes down to Peter being Iron man Jr.
Thanks for the comment bud. I enjoyed Tony Jr Peter too but ultimately I’m glad he’s back to being an average Joe. I thought his freelance job with Horizon was the perfect set up for him.
What else do you call Miles but Spider-Man... in the final days of his universe he was Spider-Man. He is the THEE Spider-Man for some folks. I wasn't much interested in Spider-Man until Miles came along. EVERY portrayal of Peter's Spider-Man before Tom Holland was so utterly repetitive and depressing I had no desire to engage... he's constantly loosing out for doing the right thing. Aunt May is FOREVER in bad health or about to lose her home. There's two Novas, Hawkeyes, Wolverines, he's hardly the only character sharing a name with another character. Also, if Sony can steal from Miles' backstory to update MCU Spidey then Miles gets to be Spider-Man.

I've started building a 90s X Force team. So far I have Cable, Boom Boom, Warpath and that terrible cannonball where it looks like he ate too much chili. I did a quick search and can get siryn, shatterstar, and domino relatively cheap (phew). They really need to release a Feral.....also is there anyone else on that team from the liefield era I'm forgetting? Should also get a deadpool Black Tom and Juggernaut while I'm at it.

Fire star was actually a replacement for the human torch marvel in the 90s thought kids were try and sat there self on fire because she doesn’t ignite herself, the same way human torch does I don’t know if that’s why

Okay, some are on various teams so I am temporarily stealing them. Also using only what I have and what I consider Spider-Man villains. For example, I use Speed Demon as a Quicksilver villain. And even though he usually fights Spider-Man, to me, the Rhino is more a Hulk villain. I'm weird.

So, I think I only came up with 47 total even though I could have thrown some others, like Rhino in. And, if I have his daughter Spider Girl in, I could have thrown my kitbashed Psi Lord Franklin Richards in on the allies side as May and Franklin were having a bit of a thing going on.
I replace Jessica Drew and Julia Carpenter (they are not Spiders) for Cloak and Dagger
Similar to me I think Beetle (both) and Boomerang are more Avengers (Lincoln) and Fantastic Four (Jenkins) villains. But Rhino is more a Spider-Man villain for me. Boomerang is a Hulk villain
Ah, how could I have forgot Cloak and Dagger? With them I am up to 49, and I guess I could throw in Rhino to get to my 50!

I agree 100% about Miles. They need to change his hero name. I hate when they do that. Peter is Spider-man. Steve Rogers is Cap NOT Bucky or Sam. Thor is Thor NOT Jane Foster. And so on.
They are all interesting characters in their own right who deserve their own spotlight and identity.

It’s hard to buy any Spidey figs now that don’t have that retro body mold. The new black suit Spidey as well as Ben aka Scarlet Spider. Ahhhh. Amazing. But the new retro carded Spidey 2099? Failure. Can’t wait for a brighter blue updated body mold on Miguel.

Good question! I think the answer is because that's how my dyslexic brain read it as a child and that's how it has been ingrained, coded and set in stone ever since! :)

I like your choices but I am sitting here thinking and wallowing in regret for not getting Puma, Silk, Speed Demon, Kraven, Tombstone (which I passed on because he was part of the self hated Vulture wings) OBTW I have to read the lady beetle stories because it is shocking she is dating Robbie’s son which means Robbie’s bully is the father of his son’s girlfriend! Also, I am so angry on how many times I ordered retro spidey and had it cancelled on me. Miles should have been called Spider-Kid. How is the Jackal non essential, I mean holy cow he is The Godfather of the Clone Saga! It’s funny that I kitbashed Moira Mctaggert with the Gwen Stacy head and used the Mary Jane head on the Gwen figure, I cannot find the Mary Jane from the 2 pack, and used the loose Gwen head from Spider Gwen on the May Parker and she looks cool, not accurate I know but I like it. Hmmm how did David get that black eye? He told Black Cat she tries to hard and stop being so thirsty. Oh, makes sense. Fantastic Job as usual.

The reason miles is called spiderman is because they were replacing Peter and fans couldn't stand it. That's why they came up with the multiverse. It was when the woke scene was starting. He came out Obama Era. You can look back and see how much of an agenda there was

I really do wish that HASBRO would give DOC OCK bendy wire tentacles. In the comics, he walks around through the city on those. HASBRO’s BS excuses for why they can’t use bendy wire on him doesn’t fly with me, because they used it on the SCORPION a few years ago.

I have gotten my dander up when they remake a figure like Baron Zemo, I just paid a ridiculous amount for on resale but since I'm trying to collect Spidey's rogues without going broke I'll take the hit if I get a Chameleon, Rhino, Lizard, etc for $20-30 and in style that matches the version I know. I respect the realism of those originals though. Damn Hasbro for making Venom and exclusive and creating false scarcity to the point that old version is cheaper on resale than the Retro. Is somebody at Hasbro making a killing on the resale market?
That's always the gamble. Buying a figure in the hope they're not just about to make a new one!
On my Green Goblin and hobgoblin I also use batarangs cuz he he they also use razor bats beside pumpkin bombs

I never understood why they did Gwen in the Retro instead of MJ in yellow sweater, blue jeans, and cowboy boots. I wasn't that big a fan of the Spiderman series, it was SO depressing but I don't remember Gwen showing up. I hope we get that version of MJ at some point.

😂 Im like 90% sure ive already seen this video, about a year back. However, I decided to rewatch this because I just bought and received the no way home green goblin and I just received hydroman today via ebay. I also bought Smyth last night, and im still waiting on the sandman baf i bought last week. Trying to see who I still need/want for my collection.
😢 sadly, one of my kids cut ✂️ 😪 chameleon's tie 👔 off 😠 😡. So now I'm going to have to buy a new body at least. Or maybe 🤔 I'll take his head off, and put him on someone else's body. My scarlet spiderman is missing one of his hoodie strings too.
