Yes of course I could put back the preload. I just redone all the settings. That was the only reason why I didn’t do that. Thanks so much for watching 🛠️🤘
1199s failed its MOT on leaking fork seal, thought these fancy electronic shocks would be difficult. Luckily I found your video and decided to do it all myself, seems to have worked a treat. Thank you for your help!
I hope so soon. my panigale is due in 1200 miles. I have seen a half ass video on it and feel I can do it my self with a little instruction. Would love to see your how to video. So far I think your better than most.
The workshop manual (at least the one I have) says 155cc for oil level instead of your 155mm. Yours seem more accurate. That threw me off a bit when I did mine. Also says 8 "clicks" for preload. How many turns was your factory set preload? Thanks
Hey When I was looking for some data about the fork oil level on forums all I found is the 155mm. Same, the workshop manual was spinning me out as well. 155cc oil is seamed a bit too little. I decide to go with the 155mm. Since than I had no issues. I used 7 full turns. I found that the best for my weight. 88kg
Oil impregnated filters like KNN’s screw up the mass air unit. Eventually the hot wire in the unit will have a buildup of oil on it from the filer and you’ll end up with a mass air meter code.
Hey Thanks for your compliment. You have to be gentle when you pulling the seals out. Don't push your screwdriver all the way to the fork tube wall. I managed the job with out any scratches on the wall. Thanks for watching
Question... the original dirty filter was a K&N and could have been reused after a cleaning and oiling. Was there a reason to replace it other than for the sake of the video?
Awesome video! I have a 2018 panigale 959. I have a slight leak on the left fork. Would a lot of these be similar if I worked on it myself? Also I'm close to my 15,000 miles as well. Do you know how I can do a valve adjustment and what exact tools I would need? Thanks for your time and keep up the great videos!
Hey, Jeff! Thanks I appreciate your comment. The 959 is a great bike 🏍. If you have an oil leak developed on your fork you must get those fork seals changed. It’s dangerous to ride the bike with an oil leak. To do the annual valve adjustment, it’s not difficult but it can be tricky. I would suggest to do some research before you start. Check out this link to give you an idea about the process: th-cam.com/video/vTrpRXHZ8I4/w-d-xo.html I suggest you buy a Ducati service manual. You’ll find all the part numbers and tools what you’ll need for this work. I’ll be doing a video of this process around September or October 😎
The washer in the fork has flat and round edge. On 9:58 is difficult to see but flat edge of the washer should face the seal. Here is more explanation: th-cam.com/video/fWNV9FkHqag/w-d-xo.html
Is there a reason you pulled the spring out? The shop manual doesn't call for that when doing the seals. It also says to replace the bushings. Is there a reason you didn't do that?
Well I was hoping there was a list on everything . I'm a car transmission rebuilder, and I have lists of several torque specs from valve bodies, to pumps, basically anything I want to find on a transmission I can find the spec. I can't find much on my bike. Axle nuts, swingarm bolts, etc. Anything of a book with specs ?
Just came across your channel, on my 3rd video, great stuff 👍
Thanks so much 🏍️🛠️🤘
Complimenti!! Bel lavoro molto ingegnoso 🤙🏻
Thanks so much for the kind words 🛠️🤘
Ingenuity, tools, and talent = The Trifecta of a good shop !
Thanks so much! 🏍🛠🤟
You could of put the pre load back in before reinstalling correct? Nice video. Can't believe no one has done one for the V4S.
Yes of course I could put back the preload.
I just redone all the settings. That was the only reason why I didn’t do that.
Thanks so much for watching 🛠️🤘
i'm about to do mine, really helpful to see someone do it before to clear any unknowns from what i will encounter.
Thanks, I’m glad my video helped you out. Good luck with your project 🛠️🤘
The greatest of thanks for posting a series of videos like this. You rock bro. Subbed. 17 1299s

Genial!!! excelente video, great job, congratulations
Thanks so much! Appreciate it!
How easy do those fork outer tubes scratch? Or did you manage to remove and install without any issues? Great video

Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words. Keep running your Ducati!

Aren't you supposed to put some type of oil on that k&n air filter? I sure put it on mine!!!

Hi, is the other side leg of the fork the same ?
Is there a reason you pulled the spring out?
The shop manual doesn't call for that when doing the seals.
It also says to replace the bushings. Is there a reason you didn't do that?
I wanted to wipe of the spring and just pull apart and see what's inside. I didn't remove the bushing because I haven't had the proper tools for it.
Great video
Thanks so much! 🏍🛠🤟
Beauty! Btw what stand do you use?
Thanks so much!
I use the ABBA motorcycle sky lift. It’s cheaper than a lift table and more space efficient.
Complimenti bel video bravo🤙🏻
Thank you!!! 🛠🏍
Have you installed the carbon swingarm?
Hey
No, I didn’t get around that job. Life was just so in the way.
Hopefully in the future 🤞
Any chance you can put up a torque specs. For this bike?
Which torque specs would you like to know?
Well I was hoping there was a list on everything . I'm a car transmission rebuilder, and I have lists of several torque specs from valve bodies, to pumps, basically anything I want to find on a transmission I can find the spec. I can't find much on my bike. Axle nuts, swingarm bolts, etc. Anything of a book with specs ?
Is there any reason why you could not unbolt the damper??
No. Don't have to do that to remove the forks.
Why I ask is, if you could unbolt the damper then you wouldn’t need to unscrew the spring holder nut
Awesome
Thanks!
❤
Quantos ml vai na suspensao da 1199s?
If I remember right I think it’s 255ml
I’m not sure about it
in the rebote fork , sound like aire ? i have the same and sound like aire ins side ...
Hey
Yes you are right, it is air.
After you arm yourself and dress level, you see that air continues to sound, 155mm with the spacer? the telescope was working well?
You have to remove the air by moving the rod up and down. Then it will be fine.
Osaam ❤️
Thanks very much!
Never knew the panigale had a shower injector lol
It’s cool right 🙂
I’m amazed every time I work on this bike
Thanks for watching 🛠🏍🤟
