The greatest blessings I have ever had in life have come from embracing what is hard, painful, uncomfortable and doing it anyway. As one example, I was 36 hours in labour with my son. 28 years later those hours of pain, that day and then some in which I was sure I would die, were nothing. People say you don't remember the pain - I actually do - but I would go through it again for my son's sake. I thank God that He gave me the greatest gift through that pain. If Catholicism is truly the only religion that teaches us to embrace pain then Catholicism is the only true religion. (Although you're wrong - Jews and some Protestants also know that their Redeemer lives. Read the book of Job.) Just ask anyone who has lived a life and they will all of them tell you they've suffered. You've suffered. If you want any pain to mean anything other than sorrow then you need to accept it, embrace your cross, offer it to Jesus. I wish I could explain to you how easy suffering becomes when you offer everything to God. The pain of my labour did not last forever. The pain of life will not last forever. Catholicism teaches us to embrace pain because it's not a sentimental religion that looks away from pain. It's honest and true.
Be honest. You have pain in your life. We all do. You can either deny it, rage against it, or offer it to God. God love you anyway. ❤ Jesus loves you. ❤

No this is not what it takes to be pious, this is called be willing to even die for what you believe in. Think about what Jesus meant when he said deny yourself and pick up your cross. Denying yourself is extremely hard to do and it requires some type of suffering.
Have you ever played on a team and suffered through 2 a days, or waking up super early to get in a 10 mile run. Those moments, once complete are so fulfilling because you know you gave 100%, even though it sucked at the moment. Think about Jesus’ entire Passion, it was extreme suffering and we are called to imitate Christ. If that means extreme suffering, then so be it, but God will perfectly exactly craft our cross exactly to what we can carry. I hope what I’m saying makes sense.
The Christian life is difficult, but the more we love the more we would be willing to suffer for Jesus Christ since he suffered so much for us. To avoid suffering is to avoid our cross
