Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust. The world is fleeting and passing away. God is the only eternal being. I really appreciate this sermon. Thank you for making it. For me, I suffer not only from sloth, but even worse from cowardice and fear. The things that keep us from holiness are so trivial... Yet they're still so difficult to overcome. Lord have mercy. Thank you for reminding me that even if I amount to nothing (which is the most probable outcome of my life) I can still do the most important thing with my life and focus on becoming holy. Not for my glory, but out of love and desire for God and the eternity with Him. Pardon the long post. Thank you again for this sermon. God bless you and yours and all those who hear your edifying words.

I struggle with eating enough to maintain my state in life; my duties to fellow man/family.
Seconds are only an issue for me at thanksgiving and good mashed potatoes.

I wasn’t able to attend the Mass today because I forgot to turn on my alarm last night and I had a lot justification saying that I deserve rest because I travelled yesterday 😢 No wonder I easily get anxious these days because I also hit the snooze, snacking between meals, almost arriving late at Mass 😔 But again thank you Lord Jesus for providence by sending the Holy Spirit to lead me to this video…truly Your patience is our salvation

Hello Fr, thanks for this video and it’s sermon, I have been battling with myself for a while now, wondering if I am doing “too much”, I would really want to be able to tell when to stop, so that I don’t go too extreme in this call to holiness. Cause I fear that am not doing enough and at the same time worry that I might be doing too much

To strive for holiness and perfection is frown upon these days, not praised, not even by (Novus Ordo) priests, just as it not "cool" to be a good student or intellectual.
My local rector preaches that we should all be "more fraternal and human" - forgetting that being human is to err - rather than being more holy and perfect as the Father.
Hopefully, he means it in an Aristotelian sense, i.e. be more human-like than beast-like. Christ is fully Man and fully God. We should imitate him in His human faculties.
Help, I'm a Soul trapped in a body. The body ( temple of the Holy Spirit) is the vessel given us to Port Are Soul Around to see if we Are Worthy of Heaven.🙏

I do not believe you can drop all sin to leave an empty space .... it's rather than sin is exchanged for God, step by step like a game of Othello.
Nope. You can expel all sin. Tomorrow.
It's what confession and penance are for.
If you pray for it, and have the will and courage for it, you can wake up tomorrow adorned with virtue. You just have to ask. There's no reason to cling to anything sinful or worldly
@@jwm6314 I think that @rideforever is talking about forming holy habits to replace sinful habits. And yes, you can be adorned with virtue, but if you're not in the habit of virtue, you don't know how deep the cancer of sin goes. It's not just the root canal that matters, it's learning to floss every day. :)
No one can stop sin by his or her own will somehow human nature will take effect in the future.. Thats why we need God/Jesus always

If you are even half serious and not just being sarcastic, try going more frequently to confession. Although I never got that lighter than air so many people say that they experience, I do believe that the sacrament provided me with the grace to overcome my most serious offenses. It may be difficult a first, but so worthwhile. Also, if need be, try different confessors/parishes. I clicked on this video, because I can still be lazy at times. Also, making the effort to go to Church more frequently for Mass or Adoration can blossom into a greater desire to please God and not offend Him.

All people in heaven are saints, and most people will not go to heaven. Little Jacinta of Fatima was told about WW2 ahead of time and that most of the ones who will die in it won't go to heaven .
