Good Evening Mr TK, yep..you're spot on. I have to believe that the majority of automakers realize that Tesla owns the EV market space. Therefore do what you do best to meet consumer vehicle requirements from a quality and acceptable price point. You cannot be everything to everybody. it's a sure pass to fail. This also holds true to the UAW , UAW was a good thing in the initial growth era of automobile manufacturing because it was labor intensive. Today it's a different story. Automation and technology is the way to produce vehicles, unfortunately yes, it will reduce manual labor and increase the need for engineers and technical specialist who will run the factories in the future.

USA doesn't produce anything. We are a services economy and have been for decades. No young kids want to sit on an assembly line getting paid garbage. This isn't the 50s when a factory job could get you a house and a car. You work for Tesla on the line and you are poor.
The nationwide median price of a new single-family home is $495,750, meaning half of all new homes sold in the U.S. cost more than this figure and half cost less. To understand this problem one must ask, why don't they rebadge a US made Dodge or Chrysler and export it to Italy as an Alfa, Peugeot or whatever and keep the plants running? US trade policy is the answer. This is not a union problem, it is a tax and export subsidy problem. I know you hate EVs but I highly doubt that they will not continue the credit for the manufacturing portion of the grants. Because the manufacturers need that money. I think the EV credit will be lower and probably restructured in a different way.. but they certainly will be there. The rest of the world is transitioning to electric vehicles if the United States does not transition at least in technology and manufacturing of these vehicles, then we will lose our manufacturing Giants….. just selling combustion vehicles in the United States is meaningless. It will be a fraction of the sales. It will be a fraction of the sales that are being sold today when all sales are down..
