Glad to hear that it still worked. Some times it doesn’t at first. Best option would be to search Amazon manually and look for a match, create a listing, or just return the items to the store.

Hi there, I'm not honestly sure how to find any authorized distributors. You may be better off trying to reach out to stores such as ulta and sephora and asking them who they get their products from.
Hey! Okay, this was super helpful. Thank you. I placed my first order from Ulta during the 21 Days of Beauty and used a new Ulta credit card for my largest purchase. The limit was $500 for my first transaction for whatever reason, but I was only able to purchase 6 of my items (larger priced) for under that $500 limit. The other 4 of that item will be on a difference invoice. Is that okay?

Typically it is ok if you have separate paperwork as long as the items show 10 units.
Amazon has also restricted a lot of beauty brands lately so hopefully you didn’t order any of them

So you got double cash back from your credit card and rakuten? A lot of times one will cancel the other out. Did you check to make sure you got credit for both? If so, that is an awesome tip.
Also, I think the $ on revlon has to do with how Amazon codes the brands for gating. I believe with the $ you usually need an invoice.

Quick question, if I have different products, all of them from the MAC brand (blushes, mascara, lip sticks), do I need to apply to ungate every single items separately? Example, do I need to submit request for blushes. Another request for mascara and another request for lip sticks?

If they were all MAC, you’d just need to do it one time but you should have 10 of one item

I wanted to clarify that I didn’t need to get approved in L’Oréal brushes, L’Oréal eyeliner, L’Oréal lipstick, etc? Once I’m approved in L’Oréal.. I’ll be approved to sell any/all L’Oréal products? @@Kev-Sam without rewatching the video, I’m pretty sure I had L’Oréal and Olay. But yes, you are just ungating the brand. This can be achieved by any product but you need 10 of the same product, so if you are getting a hair brush, you need 10 hair brushes.

Also, the packing slip does not have your name and address on it. Amazon clearly states that the invoice must have the name and address that matches the seller's name.

So, what you are showing from Ulta is a packing slip, not an invoice. In the application video, Amazon is adamant that they will only accept a purchase invoice. Please advise.

Hi, no it will not work. Amazon has certain requirements they need to see in order to approve you. I don’t necessarily know that using Ulta fits all those boxes but they accept them

The Clinique did not ask for a seller approval letter but the Revlon and L'Oreal did. Once Clinique ungated you in Beauty did the requirement for a seller letter go away on those other brands? If not, how did you get one?
I had to get the invoices for the other brands. You have the option for brand approval letter or an invoice

Do you need the physical product to get ungated? Or can you submit proof of purchase and get ungated before the product is delivered?
It used to be you needed to submit pictures of the physical product but I've heard people having luck with getting ungated before the item is delivered. However, with Ulta, they dont send a true "invoice" so you really just need someone on the other side approving you. But you may need the paperwork that comes with the order.

I did this and got declined several times. I also was told that the case was closed and now they’re asking for a letter from revlon to give permission to sell. What do I do?
That is interesting that they are asking for a letter to sell. I was gonna suggest trying again but it seems you’ve already done that.
Thankfully you can return the items to ulta to get your money back. I’m not sure of a different site to use right now

Hi there, try to submit everything again. Sometimes you just need someone on the other side to click approve.
Just tried this for Clinique, got rejected because they said it was a "You have provided a packing slip. Please note that we are unable to accept retail receipts" sent them a picture of the entire paper that came in the box
I know there is wording at the bottom of that sheet that states this is a packing slip, not an invoice or something along those lines. Sometimes you can get someone to approve it without reading everything. My best suggestion would be to close the case, re submit and see if it works. If not, you'll likely need to return :(

So this would only work per category right? I.e if you wanted to sell say stuffed animals or cards you would need an invoice for whatever category those are in?

Yes this is per category. And you would need an item that falls under the category you were trying to sell in.
If you’re saying in these vids you saw, you could use, say these beauty category invoices to get ungated in grocery. I don’t see that being possible.
I’ve also been hearing other sellers saying they need separate invoices when they try to double or triple dip on a brand. Seems that Amazon has really been cracking down on this lately
For wholesale , should you sell in different categories at the same time? Ex: selling in the health/beauty and in the grocery category at the same time? Or should we just focus on one category?
Ultimately up to you, the wider you spread the more likely you get more sales

The paperwork will need to reflect the items you have already sold. So if you sold items 4 months ago, you can’t submit an invoice from 2 months ago

Do you have to add additional labels like an expiration date. I want to sell cosmetics but amazon asks for an expiration but most brands only use batch codes so I'm confused if I'm required to add expiration labels
I do not add labels with expiration dates to the products but I typically list them with at least 1 year in advance. Most products will have an image with a jar and a lid with either like 6, 9, or 12 months, so they expire at that time once opened.

You're welcome! It'll still be brand dependent. You've ungated the beauty category and that particular brand. Unfortunately, there is not a way to ungate every brand within a category. Therefore you'll have to ungate each brand individually.

And sometimes amazon will accept anything. I know someone who has sent pictures of their feet but titled it with the Asin they are trying to get approved and they do.

But just to add, even if you get ungated into the whole beauty category, there are still lots of brands that you will be gated on. For that, you need to buy 10 units of each brand (one ASIN) to get ungated
Have you had any issues with listings being removed or IP claims for MAC or Clinique?
Yes YOU have to buy Directly from the band OR an authorized distributor that will give VALID invoices for your Purchases NOT retail Receipts No matter what this IDIOT says RECIEPTS are NOT valid to be ungated (I've been an amazon reseller for 25 years since 98') you follow his Horrible advice you will get eventually get banned when an employee that Knows what there doing requests INVOICES not receipts and your will be out of luck and you can kiss your account goodbeye FACT

I was hesitant to provide an invoice from Ulta as they are a retailer but good to know that this works. Is Ulta an exception, or can this method be applied across the board from for example, Sephora, Vitacost, Biglots, Bed bath and Beyond, etc.?

@@bluegrassprofits21 I appreciate reply. The worst they can say is no, but I suppose it depends on how risk averse you are. For OA, my understanding is that it’s about volume and diversity of SKU’s so I’m just wrapping my head around whether it’s efficient to buy 10 units of product from a retailer for AMZ to come back and say no, or just keep it moving. It certainly wouldn’t make sense to find a wholesaler/distributor for one specific brand or maybe I’m wrong.
@@adamkoelb yes definitely about volume and multiple different skus for OA. I was referencing to using Ulta to get ungated in a brand, you could then buy products elsewhere like the ones you mentioned that would be perfectly fine. You won’t need an invoice everytime you source a product.
Also, buy 10 items of one sku, make sure that they approve the Ulta paperwork and if they don’t approve it, then just return them. But if you get ungated, you’ll want to keep the items

so technically yo can only sell revlon, clinique, and loreal beauty products? are there any beauty items that will get you ungated in the beauty category as a whole? it seems to me you are only approved to sell only that brand
That is correct. You have to get approved to sell in the beauty category (which is accomplished by buying the 10 items of one brand) and then the individual brands as well in order to sell them. Unfortunately there is not one item that ungates every brand possible

I am having a hard time getting ungated in groceries I keep getting the message,
"We reviewed your application and determined that you are not eligible to sell [Grocery & Gourmet Foods] products. We evaluated the information you provided, but it did not pass our review."
I am certain that I submitted everything they required. This is the second time I apply any ideas on how i can resolve this? I am trying my best to not get discouraged as im a new seller :(
Where is the item from that you are using? It is an invoice and not a store receipt? And you have 10 units?
@@bluegrassprofits21 thank you for responding :) it’s from Frontier Co-op, 10 items purchased, it’s an invoice. I’ve provided pictures of the physical product, The address matches my account & I even provided a picture of my DL for extra verification.
I have 2 theories as to what could be causing a red flag - 1. my seller account is set up to my full name as it appears in my DL (4 names) & the invoice received has the delivery name as my first name and 2 last names. My middle name isn’t included in the invoice.
2. the invoice provided has my company name as the payer which is also the name of my storefront
Idk how picky they are but either way my name is on the invoice and matching address :/

@@bluegrassprofits21 Yes and yes. That is why i'm scratching my head. At this point i'm left to assume i am applying at the wrong time since this is amazons busiest season and they may not be approving new accounts. I opened mine mid September.

Sometimes it is, you certainly can’t sell either but sometimes you can get the restricted item lifted
When you use Rakuten do you have to use a credit card or can it be a debit card?

That would be tricky. Have you come across those brands when you’re sourcing? I haven’t really ever seen them so to me, it would be a waste to ungate them

How do you get the IP Alert feature?
Hey man how do you know if an item will ungate you in both the brand and the beauty category or just the brand you’re applying for?
I’ve applied in baby and in office products and I only got ungated in the specific brand and not in the overall category for either baby or office.
There are a few products that specifically need category ungates, I’ve usually just had to find those by pure luck.
If you happen to find a product that restricts you in beauty, you should be able to use the same invoice even if it’s a different item, because that item is a beauty product.
I’ve got over 40 units of freederm but cannot find a wholesale distributor for it☹️

You’d need to buy from elsewhere; although supposedly if you buy from amazon (only If it’s amazon selling it), If you use a non prime account, you can use this to get ungated. I have not done this before but I know others have

I’m not too sure, I believe individual locations require ungates. For example if I’m ungated in beauty here in US, I’m probably restricted in Europe

I am looking at using them and they seem to have alot of products that are cheap and would need to be sold together on amazon as a set. I see they have better pricing if you buy 12 of an item vs individually too. Ive found some products and can buy a 12 pack of a certain item would that qualify for an ungate or do I need to buy them individually to get 10 total vs buying one 12 pack. Also is it ok to buy multiple items on one order to get to $100. Have you used them before and did they provide a invoice? Just curious how to go about it appreciate your advice.
@@CJ-rg8pp Hi, Yes I can explain.
For the most part you'll probably not make a profit from using them for ungating brands but you should be able to recoup most of your money back in order to get ungated.
You just need to buy 10 total units, so if you buy a pack of 12, this qualifies. For example, I used them to get ungated in Crest - I bought a 12 pack of travel sized mouth washes and I used that. Additionally the ASIN I used was for just one 12 pack so I didnt need 120 units to get approval.
Lastly yes, buy as much as you can for your $100. I've used WeinersLTD twice for ungates and I was able to get between 5-9 brands ungated on each invoice.

As of Nov 19, 2022 Ulta Beauty only allows me to purchase 5 items at a time on their website. How do I get around that?
I’ll have to look into this, it is possible that because the 19th was the start of their Black Friday sales, they were restricting how many you could order.

Do you access the page directly from capital one or is an extension that pops up when you are on the site? I went directly to my capitalone account and at the bottom right of the home screen it says "view all offers" and that is what I click on.
