The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

If you notice, there is no bass player. The super talented Felix is not only singing the song he wrote but playing the Hammond B-3 organ left and right hand along with the bass pedals with both feet adjusting the volume as well...let me see someone in today's music do half of these things!

Felix was and is a multi-talented guy. Singer, songwriter, organist. His vocals are still amazing at 80 years old.

in 67 I was 17, played drums in a band and had 2 other good friends that also played drums, when we saw Dino Dannelli we went nuts! He was so strong, he sat low, he had those pink champagne Ludwig's with the 24"base, he had sticks flashing all over the place, just Spectacular

You and I are the same age. I saw them when I was 16 in 1966 when they toured with Dick Clark's "Where the Action Is" and then again in 1970. I had started playing drums in 1966 and was in a garage band at the time. I continue to play drums today with my "copper sparkle" Gretsch which are the same color. After high school, I took professional jazz lessons and my playing expanded to jazz, American Standards, Motown, Soft Rock and Classic Rock and always, lower volume with finesse. Nothing against what I played then because if I hadn't gotten the bug - particularly by Dino Danelli - I wouldn't have continued to play.
Rest in peace, Dino. What an inspiration!

"Slow Down"? The second song is "Come On Up"

Rascals had the same instrument line up as the Doors : drums, keyboard, guitar. While it sounds OK the lack of a bass guitar is glaring. They play with great energy plus they didn't lip sync is even better.

Fabulous performance! Love the trippy lighting! So much energy here, from Felix's soulful singing, to Eddie's choreographic twin tambourines and backup singing, to Gene's excited guitar playing , to the late Dino's impressive conquest of the drums! The Rascals could be mellow, but boy could they rock. I had the privilege of seeing their Broadway show several years back. They were still every bit as good as on this recording.

Dino looks like Paul McCartney from the early Beatles years Lol😂. Would've loved to see Dino and Ringo do a drum battle! That would've been awesome,R.I.P Dino your drumming and drum stick twirling was absolutely flawless!

Everyone gives credit to Ginger, Keith, Mitch but Dino should be up there as one of the greatest drummers in rock.

I think the greatest technical rock drummers of the time were Danny Seraphine and Jon Bonham, but Dino was the one I really loved to watch!

    I saw their very
Last performance with all of the members at the Borgata. It was Felix’s 70th birthday. The audience sang happy birthday and Little Stevie, who produced the tour came out and thanked them. He then announced the tour would not continue. They had performed about 80 shows.
    Dino was incredible

If there were a show today that highlighted musical talents of today; I think it would only serve to highlight how horrible "popular" music has become. That's probably why we no longer have things like variety TV shows anymore.

Fantastic band! One of my favorite Rascals songs, lets face it, every hit they had was special.
