    Learned the same exact lesson you did - we were in Yellowstone and it was late at night when we set up with no wind. I put one stake in but then thought that we had tons of stuff inside the tent so, even if the wind picked up just a little, it'd be enough to hold it down. We leave in the morning and come back to find our tent and things in a pile stuck against a tree which saved it from blowing away entirely (the stake was still holding but if the tree hadn't been there our tent would have been shredded ). Always tie down your tent my peeps!

    Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Prepare for the worse and kick back for the best, if the crud hits the fan roll with it. Good move going to the room. Almost on any adventure there is something valuable you learn. These are the moments you'll never forget! Hahahaha I've been so lucky like you, the tent could have been in the lake. So glad you have your stuff. That's 1 experience you'll not soon to forget. Stay safe and happy trails. You've inspired me to get the PM done on" Beep" the Jeep and install some really cool mods. I'll have only about 15k in her until I get some of my other wish lists ordered from Best Top. I have a new Full convertible Best Top but I'm planning on getting a tonue, tinted rear zip out window, and bikini top. I already have the roll bar half doors and sunscreen top front to rear. In Florida It can have the SUN SHINING FULL BLAST one one side of the road AND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD A TORRENTIAL RAIN STORM. I was told about this and really didnt believe it until I saw this myself. Lol

    I was at Little Sahara dunes and a friend with us didn't stake or tie tent. Early that morning we woke up to him hollering, the wind was blowing at least 50mph. He had woke up to the sirens going off unzipped his tent and it had blown up like a parachute and he was the only thing keeping it from blowing away.

    I had this same problem when I was camping/wheeling in Windrock. Bright and sunny day, out on the trails and it started to rain. Of course I didn’t put my rain fly up because it was bright and sunny. Never made that mistake again lol! I also always carry a Tupperware container that I put my stuff in to keep dry just in case the rain fly somehow comes off lol. Certainly don’t blame ya for a hotel stay!

    Hey guys another great video I have a suggestion on the clothes , put them all in either giant ziplocks or vacuumed seal bags . Obviously undies in one bag pants in another and so on , makes them easier to find gives you more room and they stay dry ,then just label with a marker when you have dirty clothes. Handheld vacuum sealers are good enough to do the trick and cheap af .

    Since you love your jeep and use a tent so much, have you thought of getting an overland tent on the top of Step Child? They are a bit pricey pending which one, but I feel you two would use the hell out of it. Also, where ever the jeep goes, you have sleeping quarters, even if there isn't much of an area to lay your Coleman tent.
    The wheels look great, btw!

      Kevin Williams it does have minimal sipping, not a ton. But you are correct we will see. I expect they will be about the same as bfg km2 on ice which I'm not impressed with and the sound deadening tread design through center of the tire leaves little traction for fresh snow.
      Some of the best ice/snow tires for this type of similar sizes I think are the (hate to say this) bfg authority, and the Mickey Thompson baja claw.

    You guys need the Smittybilt scout trailer since y'all do so much camping. You can put a generator and electric cooler in it too plus room for all y'all clothes and they would stay nice and dry. It could even hold your tire for y'all so you don't have to put it in step child while wheeling.

      Bobby S The only downside is a trailer wouldn’t make it through most obstacles we attempt, so we’d have to drop it somewhere. And a lot of the trails we do don’t loop around or aren’t in & our trails, so we’d have to go fetch it afterwards.

    I'm curious to see how susceptible the beadlock bolt heads are to shearing off with the kind of off roading you guys do..

      Lite Brite if it seems to be an issue you can get thicker rings that will make bolts flush to the ring... or countersunk bolt holes in the ring with Allen heads

    Curious and totally off topic but what kind of camera setup are you using at the start there? Look like an iphone but you are filming with the facetime camera and have an external mic? Is this what you use most the time?

    • @LiteBrite
      @LiteBrite  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeeping.Net Yeah, it’s my current setup. Nothing fancy. I’ve considered upgrading to a better camera, but the issue there is that it’s not as convenient. The best camera is the one you always have with you, and I’ve always got my phone on me. Might invest in a gimble tho
