  • Here it is - the very first installment of our Rubicon Trail adventures! There will be 3 parts total, with this first one featuring us simply trying to make it through the Wentworth Springs entrance in one piece (I suppose it doesn't help that we attempted all the most difficult lines/obstacles we could find)!
    I hope you all enjoy the video!
    And, of course, don’t forget to follow my Instagram as well for more rad car stuff!

    I have loved the slow build of the JL. There is nobody else testing it like you two. With Kevin's experience driving and Brittany's spotting, I have learned a lot about how to crawl through any obstacle. Sad to no longer be stock, but keep the adventures coming.

    You guys should download the Badge of Honor app. It is a program through Jeep that tracks your progress on all the major documented trails. Once you complete one they send you a badge to place on your jeep.

      Dude, Jeep Rubicon was named for the Rubicon trail.

    • @richardmiller4442
      @richardmiller4442 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benjaminmeza5372 Jeeps are designed to go off road and stock Jeeps can go over some big rocks without banging them all up. Some of it is a matter of manuvering. You would be surprised to see what stock Jeeps can do off road. Even the older Jeeps. From N. California up in the Sierras, near Rubicon trail. Grew up watching stock Jeeps do amazing things. People modify them to do even "better" off road. However, watching Jeep videos you do see people abuse off road vehicles. By the way, guess what vehicles you see off the edge of the road in winter snow storms? The big SUV's like Suburbans, Escalades etc. Because people think their big monster SUV is invincible.

    • @richardmiller4442
      @richardmiller4442 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benjaminmeza5372 Yes, that is kind of what I meant that people abuse them. Growing up in and spending time off roading in the mountains the "rule" I followed was "take the easier way". Had a new VW Super Beatle in 1972 that I put wide tires on. By going around obstacles I could get into places where 4 x 4s went. Of course VW Beatles with the engine over the drive wheels and a pretty light body were great off road. Look at all the VW based dune buggies. (Actually not too many dune buggies around anymore) On the Rubicon trail there are less difficult ways. Like these videos on here show there are limits. I like the ones where people drive into "puddles" that are way too deep because they didn't check the depth. Snorkels on 4 x 4s??? Jeep tells you no water over headlights. Your fuse box is under the hood??? Wish they would seal all the electrics like military Jeeps.

    • @richardmiller4442
      @richardmiller4442 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my home area in N. Ca., rule was never to buy a local Jeep. Go to Bay area, Oakland San Francisco. Because those guys rarely, if at all, did any off roading.

  • @jafxdwg
    @jafxdwg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Congrats on your excellent production of this latest adventure.
    Seriously, I enjoyed every moment.
    Very well documented, with excellent camera work / combined with some explanation as to what the heck was going on.
    I also appreciated your comments on the performance of your upgrades.
    I have nowhere near the off road opportunities or access to performance upgrades that you have so generously shared. But my experience with tires and suspension always seem to end up with a brutally stiff, uncomfortable ride. ie The shocks and tires should have included a kidney belt.
    So carry on with your videos and just maybe I will take the plunge back into 4WD.
    Cheers John from Canada.
    ps ..That fan noise is brutal too ! There has to be a better way than listening to that roar.

    I wasn’t quite sure about you in your first videos - I thought you were just crazy 😜. But now after watching some more videos I have come to the conclusion 🙄 you are 😜 nuts 🥜 also 😂. I rolled my 1998 CJ rock crawling and ever sense my fractured neck I have to take it easier 🙁. I had my seatbelt on but my CJ was topless so I hit my head 😲 thus shoving it into my spine 🤮. Now with my 1962 Willy’s Wagon - with its newer Jeep drivetrain - lockers 4:88 gears - 6 speed auto trans - 40” tires I use a 4 point harness - it’s a pain in the arse but next time hitting my head will end it all. Suggestion the driver should wear one while someone is spotting - I was paralyzed for about 3 years and I was so fortunate that I not only lived but I recovered most of my bodily functions. Or at least wear a hard hat 🎩. Oh that fan helps drowned out the steel on rock sounds 👍👌Thank You so much, and sorry 😐 for my long comment...😏

    I'm happy for you two in all of the hardware upgrades installed. I'm in AWE of how your JL crawls up and over the high almost ventricle obstacles. NOW regarding your honest comment about James driving instincts, you need to learn to trust James spotting you AND you need to be in the driver's seat more often So that your driving and negotiating skills are improved. You two are a great team and as such get yourself into that driver's seat and improve your skills. Lifestyle to short to be a spectator ma'am

    Okay so I've been watching a few of your clips because I'm looking to get a JLU here hopefully soon. I currently own a 95 YJ that I built up on my own, but I want something newer and more comfortable plus A/C wouldn't hurt Lol. Anyway I have really enjoyed watching your clips you guys are so cool. Plus I love the fact that Brittney is so knowledgeable of this sport and really enjoys it! Must be that old saying... It's a jeep thing, and some wouldn't understand. ❤👍🤙😉
