trying to get ahead of inconsistent snow throwing from last year, tightened up this cable and crossing my fingers. thanks for giving me something to try before heading to the small engine shop!!
So, my cable didn't break, but it got slack. and then after further use, the auger stopped fully engaging and now 2nd stage isn't blowing. i wonder if it just needs adjusted or if i need to replace?
Does anyone know the reason the spring/hook on the end of the cable would break? I replaced the cable, which came with a new spring/hook attached and it broke again soon after. After taking it apart to check the second cable, I noticed the auger belt is also pretty stretched in one place, (although I didn't notice this when replacing it the first time.) I am picking up another new cable, auger belt, and drive belt tomorrow. I am hoping that replacing the new belt will solve the issue but the sales person said it may be a bearing.?

+kemosonicfan123lbp We are not sure what part you are referring to. At 0:52 we remove the belt cover which exposes the belts and pulleys.
