In Canada the hpa tank rehydro law changed over a year ago. Now, if you have any tank under 61cu, it no longer needs to be rehydro tested, over 61cu still will require you to have it rehydro every 5yrs.
Now only if they made a 58/4500, something that could be below that 61cu that regulations have but still big enough to go through atleast 4 pods and a hopper full of paint.
couldnt imagine that when i bought my carbon fiber hpa tank in 2005 that I'd have to throw it out because I was still playing paintball 15+ years later
Yeah good thing you didn't waste your money on a 4500psi carbon fiber ninja tank that only lasts 15 years... You would think the more expensive ones would last forever, they don't tell you that when you buy them or no one besides millionaires would buy them.
As an extension to this video, do regulators have a lifespan? How do you tell if it’s still good, what’s the point of having a tank certified to hold 4500 psi if your reg is going to be the failure point.
Just to let you know, the service and use time starts on a tank AFTER the 1st fill. So if you have a brand new bottle with no regulator... sitting in a box, the 5 year starts at the 1st fill. That's why you can't really go by dates on tanks... because the time doesn't start UNTILL it's filled for the 1st time. Nobody EVER mentions this, because they want to sell you new tanks constantly.
My tank was August 2016. I just had it hydrotested today and it failed apparently. Is there some reason why. Its a 48ci 4500 psi one. Seems like it should be fine. Could the guy be trying to get a free tank cause ill just say throw it away or something
@@HalfbreedTrini unfortunately I bought it on kijiji. They would want proof I had bought it. Receipt or order number. Either way once it was found to be faulty they have to dissemble it by law
I just got 4 tanks from my friend and he said they are all Co2, I have one 12oz, one 20oz, and two carbon fiber tanks from carleton/pure energy. For the 2 small Co2 tanks they were made in 2003 and 2004. For the 2 carbon fiber tanks they were made in 2005 and 2006. I was wondering should I try and get them hydro tested or just go buy some new ones? And am I able to empty the 2 carbon fiber tanks of Co2 and put o2 in them or no? Thank you
I hate to say it but this vid actually showed me that my bottles got 1 year left on its hydro and its a ninja 4500psi nls2 v2 bottle Sadly I got to say good bye😥😢
What if i bought a tank 6 years ago and the seller told me he only filled it 8 times in the first year and ever since i bought it its never been filled it expired a year later and had been put up ever since what's the easiest way to go about getting it rehydro static testing?
So when it’s time to dispose of your carbon fiber tank, do you get rid of the regulator, too? Where do you dispose of the tank, just toss it in the trash?
So I have older tanks that have never been rehydro’d since I haven’t been played in quite a few years. Is the life span 15 years of “in hydro” time or just a flat 15 years from born on date. For example, I have a tank that was produced in 2004, never rehydro’d, can I still get it rehydro’d and last another 10 years or is it trash because 15 years from the production date has lapsed. Thank you in advance.
Fiber wrapped tanks expire 15 years from the date manufactured, regardless of how many times they have been hydro tested, unless the tank meets an ISO standard. Steel and aluminum tanks are a different, if you let them lapse, they can be certified again unless they fail.
Lone wolf do you guys do re hydro if so I need to ship mines to u guys asap I just bout a new ninja tank from you guys bout 10 mins ago n I need my other ninja tank re hydro
I love your videos, I am having a problem with my axe 2.0 it is breaking a lot of paint and my eye LTR is getting jamed up, I don't know if it was a bad batch of paint but I don't know what to do
Blake Norton aw man, now I feel bad. check out axe owners Facebook pages and just make a post explaining your issue. Someone will help you get it running again. Axes aren’t bad really, mine just went down every other week and KEE wouldn’t honor their “lifetime warranty” so I switched to PE and never looked back. My wife has used a mini gs since we started playing though and you couldn’t pay her to switch to another gun. Hope you get it running! Have fun out there!
The tank will say a brand somewhere on it. Basically, like three companies make tanks anymore but they can be branded differently. HK, Ninja, Empire, FS First Strike, and immortal air are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
So what your saying is carbon fiber tanks are a waste of money, they cost more just to look cool and might weigh a little less but they last HALF as long as a cheap tank. I bet a lot of people feel dumb/mad after hearing this...
I was the one that came up with the idea for this vid 😁😁thank you lone wolf
Very detailed thanks lone wolf paintball for tell me all those new facts and stuff I didn't know about my tanks

This is true
Still has a 15 year lifespan though
@@foolishcreations2259 thanks, I wanted to add that but I forgot

@@_MrBread god yes, im surprised many tank building companies don't make them

When you think about it you only have to buy one more tank and thats it. lol unless you playing till retirement.
Good to know that both of my 3000 ninja tanks are life time and I mainly just need to worry about the 5 year mark.
Yeah good thing you didn't waste your money on a 4500psi carbon fiber ninja tank that only lasts 15 years... You would think the more expensive ones would last forever, they don't tell you that when you buy them or no one besides millionaires would buy them.
I’ve been using the same FS tank for the last 48 years with no hydro and still running strong 💪🏽
Anytime I have a question you guys have a video 💚💚 thank you guys for making content for us noobs haha
they make great rifle targets
I can keep my tank longer than my parents kept me...
Ouch... that's dark
Fr thats dark
Yea I had an issue with buying some tanks offline and got them and they were all 5 to 6 years old already
As an extension to this video, do regulators have a lifespan? How do you tell if it’s still good, what’s the point of having a tank certified to hold 4500 psi if your reg is going to be the failure point.
Ninja regs are the best. But they do wear down over time. Shiukd be good for a few years. Goodnews they are easily rebuildable.
I'll save you 13 minutes: 5 years after the born on date and another 5 years after that.
Thank you 🙏🏽 we need more people like you
How about 13ci tanks (less than 2in diameter) - is it true that they do not need to be hydro tested, ever?
Mudraholova that’s what I’m wondering . I have no date on my ninja tank , and read you don’t need to .
Is it up to date if we buy it from lone wolf? I’m asking to buy one
Anyone know a local place to get tested around the twin cities/minneapolis St Paul area?

Ive got a tank sittin under my bed that has never been filled.....for years :0
I bought a carbon fiber tank in 2008 only used it 3 times that year and its been sitting in my garage since and i recently found it, is it trash?

If I’m understanding correctly it should be under warranty, I guess???

So what about the tanks that's been sitting on a store shelf for 15 year's and never been used, can the store still sell them legally?

Get the CF tanks tested, also they shouldn't have Co2 in them.
Thnks lone wolf ❤🧡
Does premier safety still do testing for paintball tanks?

No, as long as the reg is functional and has both burst disk it is fine. There is no expiration date on regs.
I took mine to my local fire department and they got rid of it

i have a crossfire tank that is 15 years old but ive only used it maybe 5 times 10 years ago. can i still get it hydro tested?
Need to know that aswell
You can still get it tested, but it may not pass due to its age, as long as it wasn't dropped or dinged it should pass tho

When are y'all going to do the Pb swag bag for October!!!!
How would you take out moisture from an hpa tank?
do you take tanks and test them if I ship them to you?
Why do tanks need hydro tested, when pcp air rifle tanks on a rifle...never have to be tested?

I had the same problem with my axe, it’s a really easy solution though. Sell the axe and buy PE. Haven’t had a problem since.

Hate how this sport barely ever grows. There’s no where to get my ninja tank hydro tested here in Long Island New York
Try scuba shops.
I hydro test cylinders were I work at

Whens that giveaway 😉
its funny how its seems he annoys you with the questions but they are good questions.
i don't use a ninja i use a first strike 45000\68ci
But I'm still good in the 5 year range until 2024 for a test
But what about regulators?
Hydrotesting is only for pressure vessels per DOT regulations. Regulators have no expiration date.
What do I gotta do yo get a setup for free? I’m sick of this stupid spydermr100
