Wind shields have a UV coating that block some the sun’s rays. It’s done as a safety measure for the driver but it also protects the dashboard from sun damage.
Just some wise advice, please don’t vlog the locations of where you are sleeping or stopping for rest. It’s just a friendly security/safety tip

Dog/animal lovers rock... love your positive aditude. I just put my 16 year old Australian shepherd night night she was an amazing dog she was deaf and just started losing her eyesight

😂😂girl! I watched 2 other of your vids then finally HAD to hit subscribe on this one! I lived out of my car with my sr dog for almost a year doing Lyft/Uber. We been in a mini van now for almost 3 months doing delivery! Ive been wanting to start a channel but I am such a hot mess😂😂 I LOVE the lifestyle and its good to see someone else thriving and surving the many beautiful AND disastrous moments that can happen in a driven dwelling day!❤😂You have truly inspired me! Don't know you're whole solar set up yet but should be running you're fridge from the jackery, depending on your fridge should pull about 45 -50watts when compressing and cpl watts when resting so the jackery fully charged will last you couple days without recharge. Plug your Jackery Into your car 12v so it will charge while you're driving. And any time you can use a 120 outlet grab the Jackery and charge as much as you can. Wish you luck!

Just found your channel. I've been living in my SUV for 9 months now. I've been actively seeking a van but they are hard to find or too expensive. So I'm still hanging out in my Tuscon. I'm a lot older than you though lol. I'm almost 60. I subbed to your channel. Can't wait till your next video.

I know this is old but hope you get this, my son and I travel around playing music in the streets busking we make good money and consider jobs too but what I'm getting at is we carry a spare car battery and a 5 thousand watt power inverter to run out amps and p a then we have a charger I found on Temu for 12 bucks and whenever we find a plug in like at parks or campgrounds we charge the battery then use it to charge phones and run any other devices. We spent a long time in the Nashville area but we are back in our home state of Virginia now but plan on goin cross country in my equinox! But might I best in a van nothing special just a little more room. I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby Chase I'm also a published author of books about dogs! Very nice video. Metro Detroit looks so nice esp the parks and lakes. Cracker Barrel has the best pancakes, I think because they fry them in butter. The new Equinox looks real good plus even more stealth than the van. Happy New Year!

I don't know how many charging ports you have in your SUV but if you have a car charger for your solar box drive around and charging it hopefully in the very back with air ventilation will be faster. I have one I use in my travel trailer for power outages and mainly if it's cold, snowy and icy.
You will run your car battery down fast just sitting, running the engine and charging. I Aldo got smart and bought a 12 voltage kettle for my tea which I can use at work too. My coworkers get a kick out of my cargo area in my SUV because I got all these neat little gadgets for literally surviving if I get stuck.
The less of a drain on the battery the better. Solar charge you need to start as early in the day as possible for that and at a 40 to 50 percentage charge on that box.
Inverter! Not a 3 12 volt plug in those will blow as you have learned in no time. A 110 5o 12 volt inverter with USB charging because THAT has a vent fan to keep it cool.

Hello Christine. I've watched most of your videos and I love your enthusiasm, problem solving skills, and your entrepreneurial spirit. The problem with your watts intake on your jackery was probably due to shadows on the solar panel. A slight shadow will really affect the watts output. I'm interested in how the general process of food delivery apps work. Are you paid electronically? Taxes taken out? Thanks for any insight. Happy New Years to you and Chase!
Thanks for the Jackery tip Michael! I am slowly getting the hang of it lol. You can get paid by direct deposit or you can get a debit card that they load immediately after you work. You are a 1099 contractor so you are responsible for saving and sending in your own taxes. Happy New Year! 🥂

Yes the windshield blocks the solar. I only leave it on my dash if I'm away from my van and don't want anyone to steal it. Otherwise if I'm in my van I'll put it on top of the van or on the outside windshield of the van.

Solar panels work best when the sun is more perpendicular (straight) rather than at an angle. Power is the van/car life struggle. haha

Good video! A hospital parking lot is another good option, for overnight parking. Usually free, has other cars in the lot and access to a restroom and food 24/7.

Why did you get rid of your Ford Transit? That would be my dream. Should I take a Ford type home off my list? How did you do your curtain rod behind the driver seat?
The Ford transit was a great van, and was a dream of mine as well. It just was not suitable for Chase because he is blind, and he would not be comfortable with the layout. My curtain rod is just an aluminum bar from Home Depot. I will be making a video with more details on that coming soon 🙂

Im in the UK i lived in my ford transit van with my 2 border collies for 9 mths as was homeless , here sometimes its not a good idea to sleep totally on your own somewhere , the area i was in which i always thought was ok was a completly different place at night i had to move in the night quite alot , i had a emergency number to ring from charity , quite frightening . after a few months i got to now where was my best places , my van just looked like a work van so i could just park anywhere no one new i was in there dog were gd at being quiet unless needed to i could also jump threw to the front and drive off. just found you loving your videos and your little doggy.

Get a camping toilet.....it's indispensable if you really want to LIVE in your car and not just exist. You can't rely on public restrooms 100% of the time.think of it as a spare tire.
PLUS, SOME PEOPLE TAKES OUT THE PASSENGER SEAT AND PUTS THE PORTA TOILET IN THERES AND MAYBE HER PARENTS WILL KEEPS THE SEAT AT THEIR HOUSE?

I wonder if you can use your other key fob and keep the car running, then lock the car as you run a delivery. I've never tried it on my car but I will be doing this later!
I realy have wat too much stuff, and i have decided to buy one of those cargo carriers for thetop of my van, i will just tie it down so it will be stable when driving. I will put most of my stuff in that carrier, and keep the most important stuff with me, but not too much.

Hotel lobbies are great on the road bathrooms. Just walk past hotel lobby employees who are usually making appts & go to bathroom around corner from guest checkins.

You have a roof rack, so you can get a roof top cargo carrier to store light things and free up room in the inside. The worst is being far from where you keep your stuff stored and you needed something. They have soft carriers on Amazon for under $100. Best part about soft carrier is that a solo female traveler can take it down herself and toss it in the back while you’re out exploring the city or parks. People are less likely to steal what they can’t see or easily get to. 😬👍🏼
