I genuinely started crying watching this. How do these parents do things like this?? Especially that girl locked in the room… I remember when I was around 5-6 years old, I threw a fit and my mom locked me in the dark storage room. It was one of the most horrifying experience of my life (thankfully my mom realised this and never did it again). My heart goes out to these poor kids.

My mom does something like this,there is a special bean bag type thing in our room,she keeps the lights on and sets a 5 min timer,if she's noting going in its 7 mins

These "pageants" need to be stopped. I find it appalling that these women subject their own children to this. They are being subjected to things no child should ever endure.
I'm not a parent but I am going to be one in the future as I would love a family of my own. If I have a daughter, I'm going to tell her that she's beautiful and that she can be herself, no matter what and I would encourage herself to embrace her natural beauty and never change for anyone. I can't imagine subjecting a child to this.
This is abusive and it destroys the little girls' self esteem. These mothers are borderline narcissists and don't see anything wrong with the way they treat their babies. "I'm not wrong in treating my child like a dress up doll and forcing her to endure this torture. As long as I get the prize money, I'll continue to use her". Disgusting.

Leaving your kid in a dark room alone like that as a ‘punishment’, hearing they yell and scream, and say, ‘don’t leave me!!’, never do that. It just affects them in the future with abandonment issues. As a person that went through something similar at my Dad’s house, can say it definitely affected me in the future with severe ptsd.

the practice room one was so sad. she was crying so hard being locked up alone in that room. her mom just said “i’m sorry.” a few times then continued to hold the door shut and ignore her crying child. A parent shouldn’t do that to her little child. She wanted her mom so bad that she even put her fingers under the door. this must’ve been traumatising for that little girl and i really hope that the mom realises what she was doing to that poor child.

It's hard to have a toddler do this. In my family, we were playing with shapes and learning how to spell words and getting dirty outside.
As kids, give us a box of chalk or some modeling dough and we'd show you a great time.
As a teenager, I did stupid stuff like other teens. However I didn't get a girl pregnant or arrested but I have fallen down a steep hill and hit my forehead on the door.
Now as an adult, I I realize how lucky I was to be a nerd! And the six inch scar on my abdomen reminds me of how grateful I am to even be alive.
