I think Zack decided that Kat is a “no” after she told him her vulnerability story. He was trying to start a fight with her after the group date. She will probably be gone next episode.

Oh please you’re kidding right?? That’s not rude, those are 2 completely different conversations about 2 different people, and both can be true at the same time. Jess DESTROYED her chance at the end there by not listening when Zach was trying to reassure her.
I don’t like how quickly Zach switches when the women say something slightly wrong. He went from “I’m confident” in us with Jess in the blink of an eye to “I’m not confident”. His whole body language changed. I guess we know why he’s single… they really need to start having older, more mature leads!

Jess doomed herself
Zach couldn’t even explain to Jess why he was confident in their connection. He was giving her platitudes in hopes of keeping her around but wasn’t doing anything to get to know her better. He acts like he wasn’t the bachelor and doesn’t understand how important 1-1s are!
IF IT had been a man demanding a one-on-one from the bachelorette - the comment section would be going berzerk questioning his toxicity.

Zach shuts down the moment he encounters something he doesn't like. He is quick to dismiss things.
What would you rather see, a bachelor who eliminates anyone with red flags (even if that woman was a frontrunner before) or situations like Rachel and Gabby where they keep around the guys who show red flags throughout the season, only to have record break ups after their season airs. I don’t think people in the comments are being fair to Zach, he’s the first lead in AGES to listen to his head as much as his heart.
I personally think he was totally down to keep Jess until she freaked out about one on ones. While I don’t think the connection was anything insanely strong, I do think she at least had a chance if she hadn’t overreacted. She probably would have got one of the one-on-ones this week and then who knows what happens. I don’t think she’s the final pick, but what Zach did is not wrong. She’s the one to blame for her elimination.
@@itszaque5031 I would rather him say his real reason for letting someone go than to wait for them to make a little word mistake and try to trap them into looking bad so that he is scott free. He has known his favorites from week one.

I don't appreciate charity not getting a chance to say what she had to. She deserves to have Kat explain things because she specifically asked Kat to talk. Brooklyn needed to respect that. You can stick up for people without drowning out their voice.

It became a group gang up and she already had them all voice their disdain. Once you get to voice your disapproval, not multiple times because you cannot bully a person to respect you. And Charity sadly needed to tell Brooklyn to back off. Brooklyn was crossing a boundary, asserting herself again. As if Charity is a simpleton who wouldn't be able to suss someone's BS. Also if Charity accepted an apology that's her choice but Brooklyn didn't want any apology to happen. It showed me how nasty Brooklyn can be.
I see no big deal with what Kat did. Everyone knows he’s dating more than one girl and there’s always going to be one of the group who will be out of line. Go on your date and make him forget Kat.
Has anyone else noticed that Zach tried to make a comparison to charity’s emotionally abusive relationship? He said he lost himself in his last relationship and couldn’t even remember his taste in music. She was being cheated on over and over again. It’s “not the same,” as Zach would say. Charity could’ve responded to him the way that Zach responded to Greer.
Charity didn’t blast him because she isn’t cold blooded as he is.

I get that the whole point of the show is for Zach to find somebody and he doesn't have much time to do that, but I'm also kind of put off by the way he treats the women he's lost interest in. Like, he gets on Greer for comparing his ~journey~ to find love on the show to her job, when all she was doing was trying to relate to him (wasn't the best comparison, but the intent was obvious) and then he finds out she has COVID and just...doesn't really seem to care at all? I was expecting a Zoom call between the two of them with him at least trying to show concern, but nope.
& with Jess, he tells her that he's confident in their relationship so she she take his word and not be so insecure about it...but then she gets a little too emotional and voices too many of those insecurities and now all the sudden he decides that he's out, he doesn't like her enough to deal with it and just kind of goes, "your insecurities made me insecure and I'm not confident in us anymore byeeee." Then he sends her home and goes, "that's the last thing I expected from Jess" or something like that, as if it's her fault and she's let him down in some way. It's fine not to be interested in someone anymore, but once he decides that it kind of feels like he starts blaming them for not being the person he wanted them to be. (sorry for the long comment!!)

They totally cut something out of Zach and Jess’s conversation. In the previews Zach was more aggressive when talking to Jess but we didn’t see that clip in the episode. I think her reaction in the limo also shows that something was cut out with how angry she was. Also did anyone else catch that when Charity was talking about her abusive relationship Zach compared his insecurities to her abuse. Meanwhile when Greer was trying to compare her experience with COVID to his he got all upset. This dude is something else.

He is a trip. I think he has mental issues. He gets so easily frustrated. How quickly he snapped at Greer and his reaction to Jess was cold and lacked compassion. He seems like he has anger problems. Can you imagine how he is without the cameras around? You probably have to walk on egg shells around him.

I’ve noticed that everyone on their one on one has a traumatic story to tell and that’s how they bond (because they’re being vulnerable). Vulnerability doesn’t always involve traumatic experience. I wish we could see more bonds form from talking about good experiences rather than bad ones!

I didn’t watch the show live and only watch bachelor fantake but it looked like she went in for the kiss quickly. From my viewpoint it seemed like he barely had time to react.
@@DottieMinerva Yea in that short clip he seems reasonable, but actually as they were walking away to do it he sort of complimented her (Kat) for doing it (pulling him away) saying it showed spunk or some word like that. And they did kiss three times! I think he owes Charity an apology 100%. Maybe he's gotten carried away kissing girls right and left and can't distinguish anymore when it may be unkind or inappropriate.

Has anyone else comprehended that Ariel doesn't say "like" every other word unlike all of the other women and Zach! By far the most well-spoken person this season. She's such a breath of fresh air and in a class of her own. Absolutely adore her.

His constant dismissive attitude towards women he doesn’t understand is not okay. I give him credit for letting the women try to talk it out with him, but I feel like once he has decided he doesn’t like something a woman has said, his mind is already made up without actually listening to understand what she means. He did it with Greer last week and did it to Jess here. Also he’s probably doing it to producers as well i.e. not giving the roses to the drama for the shows sake.

Jess is so sweet and a little too soft for a love competition I think. She was clear and honest about her feelings and she could have lied in that conversation and said it was fine. He probably would have kept her if she didn’t make a point to say it’s actually really important to her.
Mine too! I can see where Jess would want a 1 on 1! It does matter. Zach acted like her feelings didn't matter or valid. She, too, deserves better!!
She seemed to go on a bit too much about it though, even though he was giving her what she wanted right there. He seemed to be speaking with conviction about her being important to him. She was too far gone to appreciate the shift. And so that's when he subsequently tuned out. I think I may have cause that reaction in a guy or two in my life, when they suddenly disconnect.

@@SinaSoh He's not the best bachelor at all. Maybe less focused on drama which is fine, but his approach to speaking to the women and his ego get in the way big time. And it's one thing to want to weed out drama and a totally different thing to send home any woman that shows emotion. He has no conflict-resolution skills and that is not ideal for a marriage, where conflict will be inevitable.

@@xxmakeuplover05xx I didn’t say the best bachelor ever. IMO the best in a while (after Sean IMO) up to this point (Juan Pablo was great up to this point in his season too). Zack needs to cut down his animation and his tone and with his wife he can’t leave her if there is conflict (unless physical abuse or infidelity involved). His decision making (for now) is fine. The way he goes about it needs improvement, no doubt about it.

100% agree! And it is my theory that Brooklyn is absolutely a protector, and was triggered here because of the past abuse she has suffered in her life (speaking from my own experience here).

Zach is starting to give me the ick. Seems like he doesn’t like women who speak up for themselves or challenge his choices. Looks like he feels threatened by them and dismisses them as being to dramatic. So disappointed, thought he was going to be a new breed of man this season. But how awesome are these women this season?!? I find them all to be smart and confident, who sadly through past relationship trauma, are now reclaiming themselves and seeing their worth.

He likes Charity and Ariel too but Kaity and Gabi are definitely his favorite.

I loved that charity date was extra long ,and she got alot of screen time. Charity as Bachelorette seems to really be a possibility, and I'm thrilled about it.
Zach is way too curated this season. He seems to be trying so hard to be this 'great' bachelor that he's boring. Sean had Tierra, and I like that he kept her because he liked her and clearly wanted to see it through, and I admired that. Zach gets rid of any woman that needs something from him or who causes drama, because he thinks it makes him look good, when in fact, it makes him look worse because he can't handle any conflict. He's gonna pick someone, propose, they'll do the whole 'we're planning the wedding', then they'll break up and he'll go on a 'I'm heartbroken' tour to try and snag the role again.
Lol I hope he isn’t allowed to snag it again 💀 unless he learns a *lot* from his mistakes that you’ve mostly got outlined in your comment, and takes the reigns in a VERY different way than he has this season. This is my first season watching; have they ever recast a lead back into the lead role before?

I don't agree with what Kat did before Charity's date at all...but, where is the responsibility for Zach too? He kissed Kat before Charity's one on one. When he could have respectfully declined. I understand maybe it would have been an awkward situation, but I am so sick of women always attacking other women instead of remembering that it always takes two to tango and the man has an *equal part in it.* I also love Brooklyn, but realistically, I don think it was necessary for her to get involved in the private convo with Kat and Charity. EDIT: I realize Charity was the one to pull Kat aside, but still think Charity had the opportunity to speak for herself. Brooklyn didn't need to get involved when Charity had the intention to settle it one on one with Kat. Lastly, I don't think that Jess was wrong by saying one on one time is important. I was surprised Zach was shutting her down. It was very obvious they didn't have ANY connection this whole season- I mean, this is the most screen time the girl has gotten all season. I didn't even know who she was tbh. So she wasn't wrong, I think he just wanted to keep here there for when he got around to her, but seeing how much he has progressed with Gabi and Kaity, I think he was wasting her time.
I really think Zach needs to apologize to Charity. He really got that situation wrong. (He even told Kat he admired her spunk for pulling him aside). I think the Bachelor could be a journey to learn on, and he needs to be shown how that was the wrong thing to do. But I'm kind of a fan of Brooklyn's.

Yea but then he would have looked like an ass for rejecting a woman's kiss. He didn't seem to enthusiastic about it when he did it so I would guess he was thinking about Charity to some extent.

@@s_fashionlover noooo. I don't think Brooklyn was wrong for that at all. I really like her and I totally support her doing that. I would have done the same thing. I am referring to the situation where Kat pulled Charity aside to talk to her privately and Brooklyn found them and got involved. Then Kat stormed off. I felt like that was an opportunity to squash it between Kat and Charity since that is really who it concerned. and Brooklyn getting involved in *that* scene wasn't entirely necessary.

Zach telling Jess that he was confident in their relationship and that's why she hasn't gotten a one on one made it seem to me like he was saying he's going on dates with the women he's not sure about yet and she should just hang in there and wait until the end. But her patience ran thin. I also think Jess was out of his league and he was intimidated by her and sometimes 1-1's can lead to elimination or self elimination.
But they never spent quality time together. I really don’t think he invested in the relationship to have any confidence when is why he bailed and didn’t fight for her to stay. He was drunk in that moment if you look at the amount of scotch her had and how he was running his hands through his hair which is why he was all over the place drunk crying

Once he realized that's what she wanted is when he became less confident. Especially knowing there was no way to fix it and go back in time and give her a 1-1. That's why he tried to downplay the notion of a 1-1.

How can you honestly look someone in the eye and say "This isn't about alone time together, but a week from now I'll be deciding whether or not to meet your family, and in a month I have to decide whether or not to marry you"? And that's not even getting into his outright denial that 1-on-1s have routinely become predetermined trauma dumping sessions. This moment made me realize that there's a fine line between taking the process seriously and pretending you aren't a reality TV lead. And Zach has blurred it.

(Not with you) but in general I have mixed opinions on people being wanting to be affirmed. Maybe in a relationship or with a family or a very close long time friend being affirmed is important. I totally get that. That’s totally justified.
My disagreement is when I hear it for people needing it in the workplace from their boss with someone they have conflict with, etc… IMO who cares what others have to say. They don’t need to lift anyone up with words or approval. My philosophy is that (I’m not saying you because I don’t know you or your situation or past history, nor is it any of my business) one should have enough love and belief in themselves (not saying you do or don’t) that they don’t need the validation, approval or co sign of others to feel valued and loved. Just IMO.

It’s so obvious he likes Kaity the most. He’s a smitten kitten when he looks at her and talks to her. Ariel is a big contender too but I just really think it’s going to be Kaity at the end of this

Conspiracy Theory: I think he and Greer had a chat this week where she ended up (self) eliminated and they filmed the Jesse Palmer 'She's feeling under the weather bit' later because they didn't wanted two eliminations like that in one week.

Zach could have easily told Kat, “I’m here to pick up my date and don’t have time to speak with you privately.” That would have shut down Kat AND all the cattiness (no pun intended).
Unpopular opinion (based off reading the comments) but judging by the constant drama we have encountered the last few years, I’m perfectly fine with Zack shutting down the drama or saying bye to those who he doesn’t see a future in the very end. He is not dragging the contestants or even himself in this process. I do wish he was a bit calmer with Jess.
My one request with Zack is when he picks his wife, problem solve your conflicts with more patience and grace. I respect his ability to achieve perfection in cutting the drama and BS, when you say “I do” and tie the knot (outside of cheating, verbal and physical abuse etc…) you are going to have to expect some conflict in a relationship.
I don't think Zack is ready for a relationship. How is he going to deal with an actual argument? He seems to give up on people quicklylooking for an out.

I like how Jess said. "I'm not gonna beg for u." " I'm out" & walked herself out. I get her wanting a one on one if she hadn't got one yet. The ones who don't get the one on one usually don't connect as much & get sent home. Her expressing that to him shouldn't have been so personal to him unless he wasn't feeling anything with her. She sent herself home when he showed no interest that she was just a tad bit upset about that. Lol.
This is the thing with Zach about Jess. How can he have "confidence" but now want to have alone time with that person just the two of them. I hate when the lead says "I feel/felt so strong about you that I never pick you to go on a date" Matt did the same thing to Abigal. He dismisses her feelings and concerns, tells her that he doesn't feel "confident" just becase she expressed her feeling about the importance of the 1-and-1, and then acts all shook because she decides to leave.
Kat is so self-centered that she wants to do whatever she wants and not hear anything from anybody. I'm glad that Brooklyn put her clear.
And Ariel, oh Ariel, I really like her for Bachelorette. I liked how she was very frank with Kat.

What’s annoying is Kat had the audacity to pull him aside and it’s even more annoying that Zach was like “oh yeah this seems like a great time.” And then he had the audacity to go from “I have confidence in us” to “I lost confidence” just because someone was willing to communicate how they felt in such abnormal way to date.
Yes, the show does expect you to be vulnerable a lot faster but THE MAJORITY of people on this show open up only during the one on ones. So for him to be like “why is it about that?” When he knows damn well that’s what it is about.
Also, as someone who is pursuing you, you damn well better be understanding when that person also wants to be pursued and chooses for a one on one.
I was excited for this season but Zach is a mess.

I’m tired of one on one’s turning into women telling their sob stories trying to get a sympathy rose.
What should they talk about? I know the subjects heavy, but they need something meaningful to talk about.
@@melodyclark1944 I mean, if it’s the first thing that comes to mind and the most important and heavily-weighted in their minds, then I definitely agree that they should talk about their past relationship traumas. But other stuff they could talk about are deeply important people/things in their lives, maybe-like Christina talking about her daughter, though that particular example did backfire lol seeing as Zach’s body language completely betrayed him and he absolutely showcased his fear and dread on his face and in his body language the moment of the reveal despite the encouraging words he drudged up for her, though that is mostly because becoming a parent is a huge responsibility and sadly does change the dynamic of a romantic relationship. Any other example, though, of someone important in their lives, like an inspiration or a loved one or a role model, would be great to have a conversation about; anything that doesn’t come with the lead having to proactively step up and be involved. Unless, of course, they’re ready. They could also talk about their favourite activities, favourite foods, maybe animals that are important to them or really anything that showcases their unique personality would be other possible topics to bring up in their cute little alone-time dates. Heavy and sad subject matter unfortunately does play a huge role in pretty much everyone’s lives, but there are always positive counterparts that can be explored as well :)
I think the producers tend to pressure them into it, and it’s kind of the culture and expectation on the show. If you’re a fan, you’ve seen everyone before you do it
I agree to an extent, I think in the past producers showed the fun part of the date and showcased one or two girls. These days it’s like they all have a formula and it’s the same as writing a college letter- must have a tragic event to gain sympathy. I think it’s more with the producers than the girls.

Do they write all these sayings down and draw them out of a hat to decide who says what during the week? Every week seems like groundhog day, except when it comes to the rose ceremony.
Zach is really making it all about him…i understand it’s his journey but he’s not respecting some of the women’s perspectives. If they say anything that isn’t sunshine and rainbows he runs away. He’s clearly not good with communicating about uncomfortable situations, which is highly immature.

1-1 mean you want to get to know that person privately on a deeper level, she’s not wrong to feel how she did. And only proves her point when he went from confident to unsure in the blink of an eye. How confident could you really be? He lied straight to her face and it’s weird. Someone said words of affirmation aren’t his love language but at least be self aware enough to discuss the differences and respect others.

While I appreciate Brooklyn defending Charity, it did start to feel a little white savior energy when she walked in on Kat pulling her aside. Charity’s face didn’t look like she was happy Brooklyn was there. This is similar to Katie sticking up for all the non-white women in the house when they didn’t necessarily ask for it. It is a valid question that Brooklyn seemed to be asking-would Kat have pulled Zach aside if it were a different contestant? But I think Brooklyn would’ve done well to ask Charity if she wanted her to step in a third time
Yeah when Brooklyn joined, she asked Charity 'are you okay?'. And Charity replied 'I'm good'. That's cue for Brooklyn to get out of the conversation! Like Charity is a therapist, she knows how to have a conversation

I also definitely see that the white friend (brook?) was playing white savior on the surface but I also saw that afterwards, when Kat left, brook said to charity that she's leaving or something like that bc she can't take accountability and charity said in agreement "she doesn't want to accept that what she did is wrong" (im paraphrasing). So there's a possibility that she's coming to charity's defense to be the voice charity is restraining from being and that brook is comfortable getting the excessive "aggressive" comments bc it won't mar her reputation the way it would her friend. That's just my opinion. I felt like they probably talked off camera about it how kat was a bitch for that

I think a lot of viewers are seeing it as this colorblind situation where Brooklyn was just being mean, but I do really love that she was willing to step in and possibly make herself look bad, whether that was a fully conscious decision or not. It’s easy to get cynical and see it as a bid to secure her spot on BIP, but she did seem genuinely over it lol especially after the previous situation with Anastasia “feeling threatened” by Kylee
