The fact that he gets up and walks away every time there’s conflict seems like a red flag to me. If my husband just accused me of something I didn’t do and then just walked off without listening to me or having an adult conversation, I’d be ticked.

Clayton is the one whose not ready for marriage. His method of handling conflict, despite his soft spokeness, shows a lack of tact.
Sometimes being a nice guy isn't enough if it means being unable to handle conflict, properly hold people accountable when necessary and defending those one cares about. I'm kind of disappointed in him.

Exactly. And I don’t think he went into this wanting to get married either. He’s like an overgrown teenager. And I’ve seen plenty of teens handle conflict better. Just walking away would really upset me more.
Clayton always walks away/gets up in the middle saying he needs to think about things. It’s easy to see he had a hard time handling conflict. Fun fact I ran track with teddi in college and she’s the sweetest. His response to teddi was a bit odd but maybe there was more to the conversation then what we saw.
Or maybe Producers told him not to "confront" Shanae because they want Shanae to go home on the two and one.

It was so annoying when Clayton didn't confront Shanae about anything she said to try to catch her of a lie like he did to other women, I'm so glad it's over, although I'm already tired of this new conflict.

And then the next minute he believes her and they walk two feet away and make out? Shanae is screaming at the falls and peaking behind trees to watch them? He already posted on his Instagram that he did not know how bad Shanae was with the other girls until he watched the show. He even apologized to Elizabeth over Instagram and suggested that the Producers influenced him to keep Shanae going for additional weeks for drama and ratings...
How can anyone who is a true contestant on this journey CHOOSE to make herself look so awful. Does she think that Clayton will never watch this back? More and more this just smells like another production plant.
I made a comment like this several weeks ago. Maybe she likes the attention? Maybe she gets paid? Maybe she wanted to be on tv and go to Paradise?

I'm fairly sure she is a plant or at the very least, negotiating with producers behind the scenes. The people from Game of Roses say contestants strike deals with production all the time. I'm thinking she told them she would do whatever they want her to do in exchange for a spot on paradise.
I honestly think she thought she’d come off as one of the fun charming villians, but she’s no Terria, Courtney or Corrine, there’s no vulnerability or humour in her actions. It’s a fine line and Shimpae was on the wrong side of it.
The fact that Shanae leaving brought Serene to tears … she must’ve been HORRIBLE.

shanae was 1000% a producer plant bc no one in their right mind would say the things she said knowing it would be aired on tv and clayton was told to keep her around for the drama. He did as he was told like the spineless little boy he is until he was allowed to finally let her go after the producers got their storyline. i HATE obviously constructed drama. it’s not even entertaining.

Anyone else find the two-on-one editing weird? How did Clayton go from making out with Shanae and accusing Genevieve of being an actor, to immediately sending Shanae home, no questions asked? Genevieve didn't even really argue her case (that we saw)... so when did he change his mind? Even if producers were "making" him keep Shanae, that doesn't really explain why he seemed so happy to kiss her seemingly moments before sending her home. Idk that little moment he had to think seemed so weird.
I thought so too. A lot was left on the editing floor and we, the viewers, didn't get the story. Very strange and bad editing.
It's possible he had made up his mind to send shanae home beforehand after the group date and the women calling him dumb

Hearing Shanae’s statement after leaving the show has me even more convinced she was paid to act this way on the show! Even though she didn’t really apologize, her response to the criticism showed more depth of character than anything she displayed on the show. There HAS to be a real human in there somewhere who’s getting paid to play a character than being her real true self.
Thank you! I totally agree, not because I don't think people like this exist, but because it's just so damn predictable and convenient that EVERY freakin season, there's a perfectly crafted villain. This chick is definitely a paid actress! The stupid producers need to hide their real intentions a lot better, and if they're going to create a villain, make them more believable!!

If she was true to her herself, she would not lowered herself to that on National TV. But, as we have seen, people nowadays- will do anything for attention and/or publicity, and/or money. I wish the Bachelor would have just one season, without going from villain to villain. One villain goes home, and another rises to the top. It just perpetrates bullying, and it needs to stop. The same old games, are getting worn out. I have watched Bachelor Nation, since it first began, but the drama seems to be more important than the reason for the show- find someone you love and get engaged.
We all knew Shanae was not a good actress. I hope she now realizes that she was not as good an actress as she thought she was. Meryl Streep- PLEASE! I am so glad she is gone. Thank you for highlighting how weird Clayton’s response was to Teddy being a virgin. I understand he obviously wasn’t expecting it but how hard is it to just acknowledge that she was vulnerable and tell her it doesn’t affect how he feels at all? Why does Mara keep complaining about Clayton not going for her just because she's older and more ready to settle down? That seems to be the only card that she keeps playing. If he was all about finding a woman who was older, he wouldn't have gone on the bachelor. If she clearly see's that he's giving attention to the younger women, then why not just self eliminate, hasn't she seen enough, does she still think she can change him? I think she has a large enough sample size now to see that he's not going to stop going after younger girls who like muscles anytime soon!

I completely agree, and to be honest, there is literally no point in casting women in their thirties, if the producers are also going to cast women in their early 20's. The dude is ALWAYS going to choose the younger woman if given the choice because....let's face it, most dudes like younger women. It just makes the 30+ contestants feel bad about themselves. They should either cast only 20-somethings, or only 30+ women, to keep it fair.

I don’t think Clayton is mature enough for marriage. He’s given so many red flag reactions like with Teddy. Then if there’s any problems he just gets up and walks away. Unless people are both too upset and need to calm down. If my husband just bolted any time there was a problem I’d be so pissed. Marriage or just relationships are partnerships. You need to grow up and deal with life as a team. He’s just felt off to me from the start. Hard to explain but my gut feeling/intuition has saved me so many times. Sarah being edited as a villain (in the promos for next week) totally caught me off guard. Well done, producers. But I still consider Mara the new villain. And a whiner.
Yeah, I'm not fully buying it. I still think Mara's the new villain but that she might turn the girls against Sarah and bc they feel threatened by her progress and connection with Clayton, they decide to believe Mara and hence Clayton sends Sarah home due to his shitty judgment and bc he'd rather not have more drama after the Shanae fiasco. I hope I'm wrong, and that it's just a fake out and that the girls don't believe Mara and turn against Sarah, but I'm not hopeful... Bc I can tell that a lot of these ladies are starting to feel really threatened by other women since it's starting to get serious and a lot of them are starting to catch feelings and get jealous.
I don't blame them for believing Mara, bc I get it, it's a tough situation and I understand feeling threatened, but I'll still be really disappointed if that's the case. Like, if the reason his connection w Sarah is cut short and she's sent home, is due to hesitation by other women and doubts about her character being spread all bc of Mara, I'll be super pissed, cuz I def saw potential there. Low key felt like Shanae left because production told Clayton to let her go more than it felt like he was actually confronting her for everything she’s done.
I honestly believe that Clayton should be the next one sent home. His inability to have an adult conversation is so off-putting. It hurts to see the women he's just accused or hurt left alone to deal with things alone.
I typically never join into “this is the worst lead” conversation, I usually find some good in each lead, but I find myself having the most repulsion to Clayton. Obvs I don’t know him, but how he is being portrayed, I’m not into it.
If producers made Clayton keep Shanae I would have serious issues with them if I were him. Ruined my perception of him for sure.

thank you! it was sooo anti-climactic. I was like, they seriously dragged us through how many episodes of bs for THAT "payoff"? it was so stilted and abrupt, and there was no exposing or grilling Shanae so it wasn't even satisfying. we didn't get to hear any of Clayton's thoughts while he was deliberating either, which was kind of needed because until now they made it seem like he was way more into her than other women.

And it was WAY better than this shit show of a season. Man it is just a hot mess. Not as bad as Colton's or Peter's, but we still have a ways to go so that could change. Especially based on the ending.

This might be me being too harsh and a bit too traumatized by this season, but if Clayton does manage to come out with engaged despite all of his non-action, questionable choices, and constant walk-offs, that engagement is gonna be as short as Katie and Blake's, if not shorter.

I spoke of an alternate reality where Shanae went home earlier. Now I'll talk about the opposite: if Shanae made it to fantasy suites, she'd probably walk in on Clayton being intimate with another of the top 3.
I refuse to believe that Shanae is actually like this in person. For the sake of humanity, I just want to believe that she is some actress getting paid $$$ to behave like this. How can anyone be so immature and narcissistic? If she isn't an actress, she needs serious help.
I don’t think she either. But if she kind of is, she has to realize that she is employed. She has to be smart enough that her employers will (a) watch the show or (b) word of mouth will get back to them on how Shanae is. Shanae had to pull her employers to the side and let them know, I am getting paid to go on a reality show and act like a villain.

Did anyone notice -?...The early promos of Genevieve having her meltdown and wanting to leave... the black V cut outfit and dangly earrings matched from the rose ceremony this episode! She wouldn’t repeat this outfit right? That means they removed this scene from the final edit!

Yes!! I don't watch the show. But I remember that clip with Genevieve wanting to leave and the dress she was wearing. So when I saw the clip of that rose ceremony on this video and what Genevieve is wearing, I was confused as to why Fantake didn't mention that meltdown. A lot of women needed accountability, empathy and apologies from Clayton after this episode.
My husband was in awe at what an awful communicator Clayton is and his lack of self awareness towards how he calls out women, emotionally messes with them, and gives them roses immediately after.
No wonder producers need to focus on the drama. Clayton was never going to give anyone a happy ending. Clayton is a good guy but he needs to grow emotionally and mature before even considering a serious relationship.

It always baffles me when leads don’t ask more follow up questions to character accusations. Mara didnt even directly say Sarah was the one who said she wasn’t ready she just insinuated it and he took the bite. So much could be avoided and the leads would figure it out so much more quickly if someone was lying or not if they just asked a few follow up questions.

It does feel like Mara's hail Mary, however Sarah seemed a bit distant and uninterested with Clayton. So it's a toss up.
Everything about the 2 on 1 felt stage. Genevieve looked to be acting as well. There was also no clear explanation from Clayton why he chose to send Shanae home.

I think the only reason Clayton sent shanae home is because the producers told him that the villain has to go home on the two on one. And then they had to tell him she was the villain
I know mara is being framed as villain but it must be hard in her position have everyone be younger including clayton, I dont think it matters. She is a bombshell but it must be hard for her. PS. I dont watch the show right now, just your reviews so thanks for keeping me in the loop.

When Clayton asked Sarah if she was ready for marriage, which was a legit question since she is college student age, and instead of answering with words or anything that made sense, she just burst into tears, I thought, yeah, Mara might be right about this one.
