This is a bit*h of a job but I made mine so much easier by cutting the material below the latching windows so the 2 halves slipped together eliminating the nail and 2 pairs of hands trick. When you dry fit the 2 halves back together, drill and fit 3 small self tapper screws through the 2 halves just below the upper flange at 120 degrees approx each. This secures the 2 halves, they have to be fixed because the pump will blow them apart when running. Now if you have to revisit the pump you just remove the screws and slip the 2 sections apart.
