  • The next task in the servicing of this 2019 Suzuki KingQuad is to replace the fuel filter. Given it's a fuel injected bike the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank so it's a little more involved than on the older bikes!
Included in the video is the part number for the filter & the proceedure for replacement.
Watch out for the other videos in this Series covering all of the other tasks involved in servicing this ATV...
    Enjoy

I've owned a KQ and I can say they are rock solid. Put 4500 km on it through trail, rock, water, mud. I took care of it and it looked new the day I sold it.
I couldn't imagine bringing one of my ATV's to the shop so dirty. You should tell these people to clean them before bringing them. Why should you have to dig through that dirt.

Good job. I've added small bronze in line fuel filters to most of my bikes for peace of mind. Hadcto use the high flow ones.

defo worth changing the filter . for the pump locking ring i use an old scooter belt wrapped round a bit of steel tube with a slit cut in it

I've changed a few of those filters in older king quads and fixed my buds 2022 before it plugged up.
The tank vent is under the fender below the filler for the gas tank and sucks dirt from right beside the rear tire, plugging the filter quickly, its the reason the filter plugs up.
Extending the vent up to the cdi box area or side of the air box if you ride in deep water and sticking a inline gas filter on the vent line makes it so you only have to do this once.

Large oil filter pliers probably work too that many may have handy already or have use for later to loosen that pump cap. That plastic will lift a good bit by pulling out those push pins on it which should make things a little easier.

I use my vaccuum bleeder to vaccuum the bottom of the fuel tank also.

Where did you order this part from? Tried two and both don't fit! I need that exact one you have, trying to get in Canada. Thanks!

Hey .. just watching this vid. Very helpful but I have one question,, I have an 2007 LT-A450X. The fuel pump looks the same as the vid but the filter is smaller and a square. There isn't a clip holding the filter on. Looks as if the entire pump has to be disassembled to replace. Are you familiar with this model ? Surely they wouldn't design it so the entire pump has to be replaced would they ?

      @AndyMechanic  หลายเดือนก่อน

Haven't worked on your model but usually the sock filter can be replaced as an individual part. I agree it would be crazy to have to replace the complete pump as they can be very expensive. Do some research & see if there is an aftermarket supplier that can provide just the filter, if so then it can be replaced.
      Cheers
      Andy

@@AndyMechanic I learned today it's a non-replaceable filter. Have to shell out for an entire pump assm. I've been a mechanic for over 50 years. I've never seen such a stupid design for such a simple item that most people change as part of regular maintenace.. Thanks for the get back. Have a great week and keep the vids coming.

Hi, its inside the fuel tank. You have to remove the ECU & other relays to gain access.
      Cheers Andy

What prompted this service/repair? What were the specific symptoms? Bogging under load? Hard starting? I’d like to compare to see if my KQ is suffering from the same issue. Thanks.

That sock is so dirty. They must be letting the kid throw mud at them while filling it with gas lol.
I don't understand why people spend $1000's on a toy and show it no respect in basic care.
