@@Lymbe06 Lol I'm pretty optimistic overall, but that shit hits out of nowhere every once in awhile. Rock and metal trends towards darkness, so I imagine there's a sort of intrinsic bond between those styles and darker thoughts. Personally, bands like SYOD and Korn can really break through the static and get my brain chemicals churning, no matter what mood I'm in. When I'm happy, it just makes me happier. When I'm down, it feels like recognition and commiseration, which creates a cool inverse effect where dark + dark = light :-)
It's sounds so natural, to the level that, if you present this video to someone who is unfamiliar with any of the factors featured here, it's probably almost unimpressive to them. I mean, it just sounds as if this song was originally made like this. Amazing talent, both Andre and these ladies.

Never heard Sufi music before, but i checked after watching this. I have no idea how the methods or structures of this music are but it's metal af. Once they are quietly singing, next moment they are banging and tearing it up like some possessed berserkers. Their performance just keeps going for hours and i just don't get bored. That whole deal, how the audience behaves, throwing money at them. So completely strange and fascinating.
Sufi and Rock music just mix so remarkably well. And to think both of these genres developed on different continents completely isolated from each other. Thanks for this rendition Andre. You are truly gifted.
Not to get all serious...but this is a good example of the power of music and how it connects us all regardless of what language, demographic, or political beliefs etc.
I feel it’s healthy! But 90s youth me just wants to get all my savings, run to the CD store, get the CD, gig and festival tickets and a t-shirt to go with…I don’t know what to do next….
The differences between their vocals (to my ears): 1. Left sister has a more open throat with a gritty tone and she likes to chest belt (carries the chest mode high). 0:15 2. Right sister has a smoother tone, has a more developed mix, uses more forward placement. I staircase she can sing higher. 0:30 3. Curious if they ever use head voice / falsetto (I would suspect not). 4. They blend so well together since they're sisters and their timbral differences evaporate in the "mix". 0:45
Well spotted! As for point 3, I’d recommend listening to their song “Duniya Matlab Di,” the right sister (the bigger sister) uses a nasally whining head voice common in Indian classical music for some of her upper notes, with a lot of melismatic sound (though I’m sure that word for melisma is a different word in Indian classical music, a word I don’t know- something pertaining to ragas perhaps). The left sister has a very strong chest voice with impressive upper range, but on the rare occasion she uses head voice it seems to either be sharp and quick or slightly breathy, she relies on her other sisters for those head voice notes often (there’s a 3rd youngest sister who came along on some tours after the other bigger sister retired to focus on family- this youngest sister has sweet upper notes in her head voice and a warm sultry lower note with occasional belting, kinda like Ananya Chakraborty).
@@TheSeeking2know Yes! The one on the left is Jyoti, and the one on the right is Sultana. I can’t remember the youngest sister’s name off the top of my head, I’ve only seen a few videos with her and she hasn’t done any major recordings yet, but she’s been seen with Jyoti at a few events.

I feel that way about almost all of Andre's videos. He's like Tenacious D, they're great entertainers but you don't expect the music to be anywhere near as good as it is then it just blows you away.
This one supported the girls' singing more than the SOAD one. This was smooth and just filled in the blanks and kinda let them take the spotlight for this one. They were both awesome. This song is so catchy and fun to listen to, I would love to hear more iterations of it.
Nah, it was very nice to listen to indeed and a very accurate RHCP parody, but the SOAD version is so over the top compared to this one. Just for the rhythm created thanks to the "freedom" SOAD style is giving to the drums part, it makes it a way more interesting piece of music.
I admire the fact that you listened and conjured the perfect arrangement to harmonize with them. This mix gives off such a wonderful powerful vibe, how you came up with it, is beyond me. I think u might have immortalized this piece. Can't stop listening :').
This very version beats hands down all the rock, metal and alternative lists of this year and of many recent years. The song is crazily bewitching instantly turning listeners into obsessive fans. I'm binge watching your videos and Noorans sisters other videos throughout the day.
I still have no idea what a single word in that language means, but I keep coming back to this over and over. I love the RHCP vibes and the vocals are beautiful paired together. I love when songs can pull you away for a moment just on the purity of how it sounds. It made me remember when I was a kid, back when the Numa Numa song was getting popular, I actually enjoyed the song and to this day have no idea what any of the words mean but I can still recite it. I feel like this is one of those jams that is gonna stick with me for a while too lol.
To all surprised with their perfect pitch : they are classically trained singers and that training starts right away at the childhood, it is quite possible that they started singing even before they had their first cry😅😂
If Anthony Kiedis was reborn into two Indian women, then this is what RHCP would be like. Also nice, playing Throw Away Your Television and Otherside to this was an awesome idea.

But from the few words, which I could somewhat understand - They are singing about a Woman who meets God. I might be wrong though lol.
@@MarighnamaniMr dude don't associate Language with Religion, language here in India is associated with region mostly.. 02:06 I just love the spontaneous and simultaneous hand/forehead gesture they give each other. I'm not sure about what it means, but I'm pretty sure it's a sort of sign of respect and appreciation.
Right on. It means " much appreciated"
It's a way of saying thanks. Tilt your head down a little and put your hand to your forehead. Known as 'salaam' or 'adaab'.
@Antonella : you are absolutely right!
It's called an Adaab in Pakistan but generally can be translated as Salaam
Looks like he tried to sing a line but stopped pretty quickly, and when they next made eye contact she made the hand gesture I assume to make him feel better for trying, and he did it back.
Not even joking: I've been stuck in a depression/anxiety loop for the last week, and this is the first thing to break through and make me feel like myself again.
The right art at the right time can absolutely have healing qualities. Thank you for this :-)

Why the fuck do so many rock and metal listeners get depressed so much? I’m asking for, um, a friend.

Simply incredible. Cannot get enough of this
The differences between their vocals (to my ears):
1. Left sister has a more open throat with a gritty tone and she likes to chest belt (carries the chest mode high). 0:15
2. Right sister has a smoother tone, has a more developed mix, uses more forward placement. I staircase she can sing higher. 0:30
@@kathleencove Oh so the one on the left (slimmer) is still singing, and the one on the right (chubbier) retired, and was replaced by the youngest?
@@TheSeeking2know Yes! The one on the left is Jyoti, and the one on the right is Sultana. I can’t remember the youngest sister’s name off the top of my head, I’ve only seen a few videos with her and she hasn’t done any major recordings yet, but she’s been seen with Jyoti at a few events.
