My dad was driving a diesel truck tow truck the year after Elvis‘a death when he went to a wreck on the Grapevine between Bakersfield and LA. The truck was hauling cases of Elvis albums and the refrigeration was inoperable so the driver said … “grab a case before they warp”
I just went to bid on the Bitossi and it already ended. Sadness. I would’ve bid up on that for sure. Beautiful piece and I appreciate the information you gave us on identifying a Bitossi. Fingers crossed for the Dave Fetty.
Great items, George! My favourite is the Miss America mahogany pond boat. If I had the space, I'd likely have as many, or more, old pond boats as I do beverage sets...the pond boats wouldn't take near as much space to display 🙃😂
Oh yes! The clear crystal is back. I knew it would. That Trumpet vase has such a lovely silhouette. The 1934 Fair was where my Grandparents visited on their honeymoon. I have 2 souvenirs they bought. Impressed with your diplomatic narration of the pennant 👍❤️🐩
I really like the shape of a nice trumpet vase, flowers really fall right in them! My grandparents went to Wisconsin Dells, they'd moved out of Chicago before the fair. I try to be fair about how I describe the events of the past, as best as I understand them
Just for fun I googled what 50 cents in 1934 would be worth today. Per Google it would be $11.62. The 1934 Chicago World’s Fair entrance and booklet would cost $11.62 each. I think that sounds terribly inexpensive for a World’s Fair or any event, really! It definitely costs at least that to see a movie these days!
I have wondered if Giomonti, wrong sp , hadn't die from heart attack, after investigation . Would Rose have been allowed on the ball on the ballet after a reasonable 20 yrs.
@@TheAntiqueNomad oh I should have known!!! I would have bought them right away too! - BTW George, this is Dawn from NJ - the one who owes you pictures of jewelry!! :-) I kept finding MORE that I thought you might be interested in! 😂I will email you links to the pictures by tomorrow, promise!!! ♥

I am lucky in many ways. One is that my mother brought me a lovely piece of Waterford from Ireland ❤

True! It was the depths of the depression though
There were likely dozens of unsung females who were on the Civil War battlefields. Glad a few were recognized. George, what is your take on that?
True about women in general, many contributions made in that era were unsung
Watching your videos ruins other collector TH-cam videos...your information and ability to explain things is just not seen elsewhere.
Speaking of The Cincinnati Reds, we like many thousands are sadded by the death of Charlie Hustle. The all Time Hit King !
I have wondered if Giomonti, wrong sp , hadn't die from heart attack, after investigation . Would Rose have been allowed on the ball on the ballet after a reasonable 20 yrs.
We will never know. 😢 ⚾
Was it Powell Crosley"s denture that okayed returning to The Cincinnati Reds ?
He is the ballplayer with the most hits in baseball ⚾
Sounds like Hollywood hasn't changed much for the good huh?
No chips
That's right!
@@TheAntiqueNomad George, are the kewpies going to be added to your ebay? I just went looking and didn't see them. Thanks!!
@@dawnieb.7394 Hi! They sold right away, I believe you can see the closed sale but they went immediately. I hope to find more!

Good for Cincinnati reds don't let all these political people just insinuate that everything is supposed to mean something that it doesn't 💙💙💙👍
They actually did succumb to McCarthy and the Red Scare for 7 years
That Trump ashtray is selling for a pretty penny.
Great video
