Hi everyone! TH-cam is working on rolling out a new feature that will auto dub videos in different languages. I believe this will be a great feature that will help a lot of people find new content that might not be recorded in their primary language. However, it appears there’s been some issues with this feature, issues you may have experienced with my initial video upload last week. It appears that viewers that are watching via a smart TV have been having mixed results with different languages playing. This is not unique to my videos as other creator’s videos have also experienced this. I’ve uploaded this video with auto dubbing feature turned off and will do so until issues with smart TV’s are resolved. Please comment below if you’re having any language issues with this video. 💙Laura
It was so much fun to meet you at the Pop Up event a earlier this month. Just wondering, I'd heard that TH-cam was introducing a feature where viewers could make transcription suggestions when the closed-captioning gets it wrong. Have you heard this?
You two are amazing. I love it when you pick together. Jesse is just a dear. How lucky that you found a man who likes shopping. My husband sits out in the parking lot honking the horn.
Love the IDs at the end - for me that is half the fun - the research. I have one piece I've been holding onto for what feels like forever.... it's a redware plate with the most intricate florals attached. It reminds me of those old posters where the more you look the more you see. No signature and am still looking to find something about it. I'm very blessed - like you I get a gut feeling and so pick something up. More times than not I find it has big value. The thrill of the hunt! The best part of thrifting! Blessings!
Laura, this has been the best video! Shout out to Jesse and his find. Thank you for the videos over the years. I keep learning from you, and when you follow your heart, the pieces meant for you will gravitate to you.
Laura, when I was new to you too about a year ago, you were one of the first people that I subscribed to. I’ve watched a lot of your past shows and they are very addicting. I knew you had something special going on and at the end of this video today, you prove me right. Hold onto that piece of pottery, knowing in your gut that it was special and had to be worth something was pretty spectacular. You’re a bad ass businesswoman and I know The sky is the limit when it comes to your talent and know how. My mother was a strong willed, and most importantly kind entrepreneur in her beloved chosen profession who saw all her dreams come true also. you remind me of her.
That means so much to me! Thank you for the kind words This actually made me tear up ❤️ Love that you see some of your mother in me. She sounds like a wonderful woman to look up to as a mother. I always say the sky isn’t even really a limit because who knows what wormholes might mean for travel across the universe someday 😂 Kidding but it sure is incredible what comes to life with a dream, hard work and optimism ❤️
This was one of her best videos...because of her words at the end that rang true and had that arrow to the ❤ effect on some of us. I've been thrifting 40+ years and it is true that you develop a radar for quality and sometimes don't realize it until you do the research. She has a good eye and a good heart.
I love the German Christmas markets. Growing up my mother bought us hand blown Christmas ornaments. We got to watch them blow them. I did the same for my daughter when she was Growing up. We moved stateside when she was 10 so she only has 10 for her tree. I kept mine in my hope chest and I kept hers in one until she was old enough to keep them.
Not only do I love, love, love your videos but I particularly appreciate your attitude toward helping the vendors (ie. leaving the tray even though you paid full price) as well as leaving things for others to pick up and enjoy/profit from ( hello glass bowl from previous video). Class act Laura and Jesse!!! Very inspiring.
🎉 so excited wooden vase I commented on last week was indeed a Rude Olnick. Fun to realize my guilty obsession of watching thrift videos is actually a legitimate learning opportunity 😊
I went to a garage sale last weekend, everyone ignored the $20 teaset. I snapped it up and yesterday it sold for $300. It certainly does pay to know what you are looking at. My best score without knowing what I had(at the time) was a pink lotus Cathrineholm bowl for $2 which I bought because I love enamelware and pink. I still have that one.
My niece and I are firm believers in hidden treasures. If we come across an expensive piece neither of us is interested in, we hide on a crowded space. Loved your talk at the end. I have held onto a pottery small tray with a teeny frog on one end. There squiggly lines on the bottom. No one in my groups have yet to identify it.
Cardin = Car-dan. If you can leave off the final n and make the “dan” nasal, you’re doing even better. Btw, I have wanted to see you and Jesse do more styling competitions. I laughed so hard when you did the first one, I’ve been wanting more!
You have some Kentucky themes! Rude Osolnik taught woodworking at Berea College in KY. Good eye! The John Taylor pottery ruffled bowl is an early name for Louisville Stoneware, now Stoneware & Co. An older pottery company that’s still in production in my hometown Louisville, KY. Love your videos!
I love that you leave things in the stores for other people! When I began thrifting for resale I often would just buy anything that I thought had value and it didn't feel as fulfilling. Now I always ask myself the question, "Would you have that piece in your home?" If the answer is no, I don't pick it up. And in the end, if the piece doesn't sell I'll be happy to keep it. Thank you for the video. Always learn and enjoy them. ~ Kris
Love that phrase, wherever the road takes us, my late husband road a motorcycle, when asked where he was headed, he’d always say “ wherever the road takes me” Love you guys, always bring a fun ride👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💗
The swivel armchair at 09:26 that you commented to be a new reproduction is a Swedese Happy Swing. It’s actually a high end Swedish design furniture designed by Roger Persson in 2003. A new one retails at 2000+ dollars. Lots of cool furniture in that store for sure! The Italian leather sofa was an amazing find!
🎶Precious and few are the moments we Toucans share Quiet and blue, like the sky, I'm hung over you And if I can't find my way back home, it just wouldn't be fair 'Cause precious and few are the moments we Toucans share🎶🦜🦜
I admire your patience, 8 years is a long time to hold onto something that you aren’t 100% sure about but clearly your patience has paid off, I’m certainly no expert but holy moly, it sure looks like the real deal
Hi there Laura & Jesse! I’m thrilled to view y’all’s latest video! When you were in the Huge Antique Mall and walked past some beautiful colored glass vases they’re called sling( or slung) vases! In the process of making them they’re actually finished that way so they look like they’re thrown with a higher “lip” and it descends down to the lower section of the vase! They’re made in many colors! Just wanted to let you know! I’m fascinated with all the treasures y’all find, and I love how you both have so much fun together as you thrift & go antiquing! Thanks 🙏 😊💕
Laura, you and Jesse are tireless! The effort and passion you put into thrifting, identifying, posting your videos and selling things must be so time consuming! Luckily you love it, and we love the journey with you! The toucan intrigued me because it took on the colors of whatever you had behind it. It could look different every day! Keep the lion. 😊
Great episode, so many cool things! I actually learnt about Bitossi through your channel and jumped in my chair because I've had a blue lidded jar for years that turned out to be a Bitossi. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge! ❤
I don't speak French, but I pronounce it Cardan, with the accent on the dan. Very popular in the 1980s and clearly remember it being pronounced that way.
I live in Olympia and was in Lighthouse Antiques with my friend this weekend. Laura has such an amazing eye. I don't remember seeing any of those treasures that she found.
I held on to a block print for several years of farm workers entitled The Reapers. I could never identify the artist. About 2 weeks ago I was finally able to identify the artist, who' s prints sell in the $200- 300 range, and who's oil paintings sell in the thousands. Sold it for $125.00 with imperfections.
I honestly don't know how you can bear to part with any of your cool finds. You've got an internal radar that's spot on every time. I really like the update portion of the video and I hope you'll be incorporating that more often. I love donkeys too and that little shiner will be so fun to wear!
As I wait patiently for your new videos I watch other pickers. I must say your channel is my absolute favourite. Your choices are so my style and I find myself yelling at the others who pass over the things I know u would grab instantly. 🤣🤣
I can never complain that my Goodwill never has anything good anymore because you guys were practically in my neighborhood and found all those amazing pieces. And Jesse finding his first Bitossi for that price! Way to go Jesse!
I have a pair of the lane wedge tables with the original finish. I got them for 5 dollars each. At one time they were up to a thousand dollars a table. Grab it while you can and stain it back to original finish.
Danny, The Niche Lady, just posted a video where she went to an estate sale full of some crazy great mid century stuff. You really need to check it out!
Did you know that Germany has a limit of how many gnomes you can bring in to the country from another European country. I drove to Poland and brought back 12 for family and they told me how many but I forgot. Lol
When shopping with an Indian friend in a Rug Shop in Bengalor, India, the artisan owner kept pressuring me to buy. I finally said that I really appreciated the beauty and quality of the rugs but they just weren’t my style of decor. My Indian friend said that I said it so nicely and courteously. Just because it is valuable and beautiful doesn’t mean you have to get it. Youre right, Laura!
I loved that you bought a few plates. I think they’re great to decorate with. They have to be really interesting though. I have a Czech plate, an occupied Japan plate, a wooden Scandinavian plate and a very large pumpkin colored plate/tray that was thrown on a wheel. I also have a few Stangl plates that I hang in my kitchen. Not too many but spaced nicely throughout my house. They’re great in the right gallery wall. These are not collectors plates. In a hutch they stand tall and usually add color. You found some nice ones on your shopping trip. Thanks for taking us along.
Yes, when I first started Thrifting 10 years ago, I found a beautiful pair of goblets that were signed on the bottom fire and light hung onto them. Forgot I had them . I paid four dollars for both turned around and sold them on eBay for $175 in two days so exciting.
You always amaze me with what you find when you go thrifting! I have never been that lucky in the NYC area! The bird sculpture immediately reminded me of Sepik River sculptures from Papua , New Guinea, especially sculptures of the sunbut bird. I love your videos I always learn so much from you and you found some awesome and wonderful things in this video and congratulations to Jesse for is fantastic find
Mat from Parttime Picker found two of those little wood vases a few videos ago on Kayla's channel. He knew what they were right away, they sold immediately for over $200.
Yes, I think that the pottery was definitely made by the same person. I enjoyed the review at the end , that was fun.Wish I didn't live so far from you. I'm from Atlanta.Always enjoy you and Jessie together, he is so funny. Keep picking!!

Such a great couple. Love that count of how many bitosi’s each has found for the day. Hilarious. Thank you for sharing.
You two are amazing. I love it when you pick together. Jesse is just a dear. How lucky that you found a man who likes shopping. My husband sits out in the parking lot honking the horn.
I love that he shops with her at every thrift store. My husband goes in with me and lets me look for 10 minutes!! 😅 and out he takes me.

I believe the floral pottery by Taylor was made right here in Louisville, Ky. He preceded Louisville Stoneware.

The pottery bowl with the depiction of the woman is stunning. All the yes! ❤

I LOVE the new end portion on identifying.
I like the updates and identification on items part a lot.
Me too!!
Me three..I like to know history behind items
The Christmas markets and the fests the rest of the year were so much fun.😊
🎉 so excited wooden vase I commented on last week was indeed a Rude Olnick. Fun to realize my guilty obsession of watching thrift videos is actually a legitimate learning opportunity 😊
I’m not into your style at all, but I love watching your videos. You guys are absolutely fun and you know your stuff.❤
Keep the lion, Laura! Making money is important, but it is also valuable to know that; we make money to acquire beautiful things that we love!
It's great that your husband goes shopping with you. Happy for you. Love this video😊😊😊

So much yes to this!! I ask myself the same question!
That pin is a rabbit holding an Easter egg.
That's what I thought too.
Eggzactly!@@anniesimone
Love that phrase, wherever the road takes us, my late husband road a motorcycle, when asked where he was headed, he’d always say “ wherever the road takes me” Love you guys, always bring a fun ride👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💗
Love the “Chat” at the end!! The whole video was absolutely amazing!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! 😄
KEEP the black lion head! It is stunning! You will have sellers remorse if you get rid of it. And the chances of you finding another one are slim
Love the Updates and ID section at the end, please keep doing it!
Happy to see you back! I pray you feel better soon!

I agree 100%! My mom used to have an almost identical brooch when she was a school teacher & she always wore it at Easter time
I watch these for Jesse. His personality is the best.
🎶Precious and few are the moments we Toucans share

That is halarious..I remember that song..😅😅
The paintings & the carved toucan are my favorite. I love the extra texture as well. Congrats, Jesse!!

The glass vases are called swung glass because of the way the glass blower swings the glass to make the top of the vase 😊❤
Great idea having an update at the end! And your Christmas trip to Europe looks like such fun.
John B. Taylor worked at Louisville Stoneware here in Louisville, Kentucky. That bowl is 1970's
Yes you are right about the pottery!
This is a great example of what Malcolm Gladwell wrote about in his book "Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking" aka...trusting your gut!
The brooch looks like a bunny holding an Easter egg. 😊
Great episode, so many cool things! I actually learnt about Bitossi through your channel and jumped in my chair because I've had a blue lidded jar for years that turned out to be a Bitossi. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge! ❤
I discovered I had a Bitossi ashtray from watching Laura ! I picked it up for $1 at a yardsale years ago. I'd been
using it for a jewelry trinket dish
Great job Jess..I think she's rubbin off on ya..ya think?
Hey, you were close to my neck of the woods. I'm in Auburn WA. It was fun watching you find those great items. I also like the updates on items.

What a lovely video. And bravo to Jesse on his first Bitosi. Love the updates on past purchases. ❤️❤️❤️

Does anyone else talk to Laura and Jessie while watching the video like you are actually there shopping with them? Or… is that just me 🤔🤔😂
Absolutely love the updates ,such a great adventure. Definitely my favorite gatherer lol to follow ❤.
I just want the art deco lion. He's breathtaking 😍
As I wait patiently for your new videos I watch other pickers. I must say your channel is my absolute favourite. Your choices are so my style and I find myself yelling at the others who pass over the things I know u would grab instantly. 🤣🤣
We've always pronounced it "Pierre Cardaan." 😊
I have a few candles for power outages but never use them.
I can never complain that my Goodwill never has anything good anymore because you guys were practically in my neighborhood and found all those amazing pieces. And Jesse finding his first Bitossi for that price! Way to go Jesse!

I always learn so much from your ventures. Thanks for taking us along!
Looks correct to me. It will look great with your Bitossi bull. You have waited 8 years and got your 7. bucks worth. Keep it.
Danny, The Niche Lady, just posted a video where she went to an estate sale full of some crazy great mid century stuff. You really need to check it out!

Thanks for the re-cap😘 If you would have drove north another hour, you would be on my front door.🤩
Cool finds -- thanks for adding the identifications and updates! ! Always learning too 🎉 💫

LOVE the colorful still life with the pineapple and Jesse's 1970s silkscreen shirt!ha
It’s too good 😂
You have not been finding penguin ice buckets the past few jaunts! Jesse is so funny!❤
LOVE, love the updates and info about special finds!
Yes, when I first started Thrifting 10 years ago, I found a beautiful pair of goblets that were signed on the bottom fire and light hung onto them. Forgot I had them . I paid four dollars for both turned around and sold them on eBay for $175 in two days so exciting.
So many gorgeous pieces. Thank you for sharing.
The wooden lidded jar at ca 56‘ is likely a twine/string holder…twine is stored inside and fed through the hole
I vote yes on the pottery. You are correct.😊
I sure hope so! 🤞
So happy for Jesse and his Bitosi. Really liked the ID video.
You certainly brightened my day! Congrats to Jesse on the Bitosi! Didn't catch that it was a naked lady in that bowl until the studio reveal. How fun!
Could that kangaroo pin be a bunny holding an Easter egg? LoL!
Laura, you have a gift for staging your unique finds!
That “bar furniture” looks straight outta Microsoft and Google
Oh, a looong one today! Its late friday in the UK, and im staying up for this one 😊
I never thought finding second hand things could be so exciting. Finding a lead on that wonderful piece after eight years! Some detective work :)
Just want to thank you for showing us some bonkers, jaw-dropping gorgeous MCM glass. Great video!
You always amaze me with what you find when you go thrifting! I have never been that lucky in the NYC area! The bird sculpture immediately reminded me of Sepik River sculptures from Papua , New Guinea, especially sculptures of the sunbut bird. If you google sunbut, Latmul tribe, Yamuk Village and bird, you are bound to see some that look like yours. I’m not saying it’s from there just saying it has a similar look. Hope that helps.
That was one of your best videos - enjoyed it start to finish! Love seeing Jesse more involved in your thrifting adventures. You have incredible chemistry.
Go Bitosi Jesse! That was awesome. Laura, I loved this video and the update at the end! You just have a knack for this.❤❤❤
I love the updates and Id section. Very fun to learn new things. Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Friday! New vlog!
Enjoyed the updates and identifications. Great idea! Thank you😊
I have a lot of my german grandmother's aluminum trays.
Yay! My Friday date night with the Caldwells’!
I love the set of ceramic candelabra and the 1960’s still life with the French plate! Great innate taste, Laura! How cool that you ID’d the incredible bull ceramic vase! I think you have the real thing there. Best wishes at your European Bon Marches!
I love your videos I always learn so much from you and you found some awesome and wonderful things in this video and congratulations to Jesse for is fantastic find
Great haul, congrats on Bitossi 🥰
I have the blue bowl to match that plate.
Love the videos with Jesse! I am going to pray for no rain for the pop up event!
I vote smokin' wolf 😂 congrats on the bitossi Jessie!! 🎉
Your knowledge is amazing.
Love the update part of the video
I am almost positive it is pronounced Car-Dan.
Love the updates!
Next time you’re in Olympia I highly recommend Courtyard Antiques in the downtown area! 😊
