- Minecraft Survival Guide 38 is all about cow farms, specifically the best kind! In this episode we build an all-in-one cow farm that has a redstone powered wheat farm, a cow crusher, and a cooking station too! Todays farm is a Minecraft Java Edition cow farm and sadly not a Minecraft Bedrock Cow Farm.

I always consider how loud a farm will be and put the loud ones far away from my house.
Yep! I Do the same. 😁 I also consider how close to my bedrooms & kitchen a livestock pen will be, as well as making sure they are either East or North of the house so I'm don't pseudo-conjure up the... aroma... for a fuller sense of immersion. 😉

My favorite build is the house you built for yourself. The interior blows my mind, I could never build that intricately.
Could add a waterfall behind the mini wheat farm to make it look like you harness nature to help you farm your crops by having it flow into your water
I love how Wattles puts all these hours and all this time into building these AMAZING builds in the world and doesn’t take a few minutes to make the interior to the house. This is the truth. Totally not just trying to get him to make the houses interior.

With the new unlimited iron I was thinking for lighting in the new cow farm it would be sick to see lanterns on chains from those high beams. Also, on a funnier note, mangrove buttons kinda look like nips on those logs... 🤣🤣
@wattlesplays I took the design of the small crop farm you did, but added to rooms to the sides of it; put in farmer villagers. They will auto plant crops for you, does take a little while; but will make the crop farm 100% automatic.
So excited to watch the episode but wattles can you pretty please finish the house interior soon?

I think the crab far reaching is going to be cool in the begining but it will eventually be one of those things that just is too much trouble just to reach alittle farther. There is alot of building ways and scaffolding ect.. armor for the dog will be more worth it

I agree. There are also a lot of blocks that practically require you to be up close for intricate placing.(example:stairs)
No it wont your dog will remian a corner decoration. You know full well you don't trust a few armour points to keep your dog alive and will leave it at home. CRAB FOREVER

Same sentiments about crab vs armadillo. I really wanted to vote for the armadillo, but as a builder I know I'll get more use out of the crab claw than the dog armor. So I voted for the crab. Hopefully both mobs will be added within the next few updates, whatever wins this year's mob vote.

I often run into the issue of placing things sorta randomly in a spot all together and dont really have the best strategy when it comes to knowing what should I place farther from my all my builds center
Basically I would like to someday see you make a video explaining how you structure the layout of your builds and tips to do so in out own style without making a mess

idk about dirt blocks for the backwall of the wheat farm. Maybe mud or mud bricks?
Ok what I like to do for a vine farm is add some vines to the trees around the base. that way they serve two purposes. decoration and a easy way to harvest some vines when you need them for a build.
Favorite build has to be the beautiful house, that roof though... Also Noah Kahan, Stick Season album... hits hard.. maybe you should add some azela trees around the base...

On the bamboo farm, the lanterns should be hung from the fences, not the logs
You should just use waterlogged trapdoors for the farm floodgate and save the pistons for something else

Target blocks are a thing now. You could have replaced those cobblestone blocks, under the pistons, with target blocks to redirect the redstone. You could have gotten by without all of those repeaters and like half the dust.
Consider: Orange Terracotta for the inside back wall? I think it looks good with jungle wood.

Honestly you could make the redstone line run right into the front of the pistons and use a non full block to transfer it from one lower to back of it... like a glass block or smth

You should put mangrove rooted dirt on the back wall instead of normal dirt and maybe mangrove root in the centre??
place a bunch of bee hives around your base on those big trees and try playing a little bit with shaders

That’s a beautiful building! It’s only second to the villager breeder in my opinion.
I have enough redstone to build a mega build out of redstone blocks and still have enough red stone to build every red stone contraption on TH-cam.
maybe one time you could upgrade the cow farm and connect an autosmelter to the cow crusher :O

You were talking about having multiple bases in your world and you already have two. The OG base by the river, and your current base by the cherry grove mountain. What if I said you already have a third potential base? Third potential base, but that eliminates the concept of a forever base!! My response to this, precisely!! Forever base shmorever shmase!!!
I agree with what you said before having bases in multiple locations with farms in each. I actually took that to heart and started making multiple bases in my world. Right now I have 5 different bases. Nether portals to each one. Different farms at each one too! One of them is near a lush cave, now I have a clay farm fully inspired by all the clay in the lush cave. I even have a mud/clay machine I'm set for life on bricks, clay pots, and glowberries!!
Anyway my point is this question, when are you going to make your 3rd base?? You technically already have a location for it, like I said earlier. It's your portal in the dessert! That's right, a dessert base! Right now that portal just sticks out like a soar thumb with absolutely nothing done to it. Don't you think you should something about it???

🦀 🦀 🦀 I think you should replace the dirt back wall of the wheat farm with some small flowing waterfalls. The source of the waterfalls should be coming down from the crab above! 🦀 🦀 🦀
You could have saved on Redstone and repeaters by running a line of Redstone directly under the pistons.

Why don't you use dispensers with water buckets, instead of cuting water flows with pistons?
Its safer, becaus you do't have to make contention walls for the water.
