steves other item is a pickaxe because he has to get stone to make a stone axe, while some say its a crafting table, most likely the table has placed on the ground somewhere
Given the limited information, it's equally likely that he has nothing else in his inventory, as he's crafted a chest and has placed all other items inside of it.
Small correction on the light level needed to block spawns. Light level 12 is needed only for blaze and silverfish spawners. Magma cubes spawn in any light level, so you'd need to block spawns with blocks in the entire spawnable area. Other mobs (zombies, skeletons, spiders) only spawn in complete darkness (light level 0), so you only need 1 torch on the side or top of a spawner to block all spawns in the spawnable area.
i was testing this in creative mode and i've noticed baby zombies will occasionally fall and get stuck using either a fence or a wall. Playing on java version if that matters.
In my spawners I set up a simple red stone light switch so I can turn it on and off as needed. I got that idea from Pixlriffs. I also have a couple lava cauldrons with drip stone so I can burn the extra junk. I like this new spawner design. Much more simple and thanks for putting in the back block breaking out behind the bubble elevator. Steve has 2 leads in his inventory because he just had a visit from the Wandering Trader. 😂 great episode!
To increase the spawning, you should dig 6 blocks lower than the spawner. This is because the spawner will detect mobs as far away as 4 block from it. By digging two more blocks down, the mobs under the spawner are not detected because they are 6 blocks away with a height of almost two. So, they are not detected, so they do not prevent the next mobs to spawn.
@@macentire56 The spawner does a check to see if there are mobs before it does its random tick mob spawn. If you only mined out two blocks below and those mobs take 10 seconds to clear the area via your water flumes, you have to wait 10 seconds BEFORE the spawner starts its random tick spawn. So, if you dig down 6 blocks, that instantly clears mobs from the area and instantly starts the RNG spawn timer. Hence faster spawning. You want the spawned mobs to instantly clear the area so the spawner can make more. Yes it's still RNG but you want that RNG to start ticking immediately. It's kind of like fishing. The RNG fish bite only starts once the bobber is in the water. Imagine waiting 10 seconds between casts. It's like, why wait, you know?
@@ianmcmanus4415 There's no rng, I have a simple spawner design and made my comment from observing mine. Also you only need to dig 2 below the spawn dimensions, a quick check on the wiki would show you.
@@macentire56 Yes. Yes there is RNG. Once the mob spawner creates the mobs it will wait from 200 to 799 in game ticks, 10 to 40 seconds. Randomly picking a time to spawn with in that frame, hence the RNG. If you do NOT have your mobs out of the 9x9x9 area around the spawner it will fail to spawn a new set. By digging 6 down, you will never ever miss the 10 second window and thus, "increase the spawning" as Ernie Miller stated above.

Excellent. Wattles, i love how you are doing this seasons videos. The intro, the running thru builds in prep, all of it. You are doing the Guide name proud. Thanks
For the riddle: crafting table because he needs to craft things I usually put a column above the spawner when making a farm. As you pointed out in the episode spawners will spawn mobs in the air. Sometimes they could land on the slab. Having a column anchor the spawner to the roof makes it so they can't linger on the spawner
@@MoCsomeone Chains would not work. The mobs would land on the edge of the spawner. If you choose the same material as the top of the spawning room it really isn't noticeable if you do the column--especially if you use tinted glass as the glass really doesn't let you see much inside outside of the mobs that are being spawned and the particles.

Thank you very much for the positive vibes, love ya much ❤
Steve has a stone axe, planks, and sticks, but he's not guaranteed to have a wooden axe or pick as wither of those can be broken. The crafting table doesn't need to be in his inventory either. Though if we're talking about things he might've had, I think logs could be one of them. Only issue is that planks can be found without crafting them. Perhaps what Steve really has is everything, as there is nothing else he could need to start his grand adventure.
Wattles I’ve watched your videos for years at this point and I have gotten so much inspiration from you and I would like to say thank you. I was so excited for you when others that watched noticed you and followed your builds. Much love wattles it’s been so much fun watching you go from 200k to 1 million. I plan to keep watching I love all the inspiration you still give me.
Im watching your chanell since guide season 2 almost ends, I am so so happy this series has started again. I'm a huge fan of the Minecraft guide series you do wattles, there was a point that I was just staying awake late at night just to watch your guide series (season 3 it was) 😂😂❤ Edit: the other item steve has in the inventory is cobblestone (not a crafting table because in old villages you could find it placed down in a librarian house, and you can find an iron pickaxe inside a blacksmith to mine the cobble)
Thanks for this updated zombie XP farm! I was using your design from a video from a couple years ago, but the 2 wide bubble elevator (column of water and column of signs) I think was giving me problems. Zombies would start to go up it, but would sometimes fall back down since there was the column of signs, take fall damage, then go up again, and when they finally fell down to the kill block they would die from having taken too much total damage. So I was only getting XP from maybe half of them, if I was lucky. This new single column wide bubble elevator (water only) works great and now they can't fall back down and take extra damage! The random block taken out behind the soul sand is key too. With that out you get sucked over and up the bubble elevator, but if there is no hole then you hit your head and get stuck, so it is very important the hole is there and in that exact spot!
WOOOO early gang! i don’t play minecraft very often and when i do i play bedrock but i’ve been hooked since the end of the guide season 1 and have loved watching you grow. keep up the amazing work!
When making a spawner room, I like to add a light switch outside with lamps in the ceiling to turn off spawning for any reason. Also, like to add a bright room using like Amethyst to reflect the back wall since the tinted glass makes it dark to see through. Just my way of both making it look nice and be funtional.
You can disable spawners by just making sure every spot is at least light level 1 or higher, not 12 or higher. You only need light level 12 or higher to disable a blaze or silverfish spawner. So, if you're a bit low on torches, you can be thrifty at setting them up in your spawner room as you build around it.
does anyone know if they did a patch that prevents this setup? I have watched rewatched and this build is a typical setup but my zeds are getting stuck before the elevator time and time again or stuck on top they never come to the dropzone

Also, to answer that Steve riddle, *trick question/plot twist.* Steve is in creative, since he's an omnipotent god, with access to everything.
