It was definitely a City of Glass moment. It felt less like an ending but more like a stepping stone? There were many loose ends and little seeds which I think will lead into The Wicked Powers.

Girl I read this book in a matter of two days after it was released and I LOVE IT. I mean, it caused me major emotional trauma and I suffered of major heartbreak, but Cassandra does that to you. I’m so glad someone else geeks out about this book series as much as I do.
Queen of Air and Darkness wasn't what I expected either. It ended up being my least favourite in the series I just felt like a lot was left not tied up which I understand since we have TWP coming in the next few years but I wanted a bit more closure! Can't wait for you're spoilery discussion!
Kinda Spoilers: It definitely was my least favorite book in the trilogy but I still enjoyed it. Emma and Julian’s ending kinda annoyed me because it could have been so much deeper but other than that I thought the ending was good.
You influenced me to pick up The Mortal Instruments this Summer, and I have been obsessed since! I am currently finishing Lord of Shadows and have Queen of Air and Darkness waiting! This was definitely exciting, and now I know I should look forward to the next one!
My main problem when it comes to Cassie's books is that there's never a win-win situation -- like, obviously I have to read it right away, but then I have to wait a year or more for the sequel and/or follow-up series. And if I wait, that's another form of emotional torture because all I can think about the possibilities. I just need a daily dose of Cassie to maintain my sanity... HOW DO I ACCOMPLISH THIS?!?!
The widowmaker part HAHAH... (English is not my first language but I prefer reading in English rather than translated books) As soon as I got to that part of the book my brain just went to that Tik tok meme and it's been three weeks that I've been waiting for someone to acknowledge that
I watched this video when it came out, when I hadn't even finished TID or TMI (I was in the middle of Clockwork Princess and City of Lost Souls), and now I'm rewatching it a few weeks later after I have finished both TID and TMI, and am starting QoAaD myself, and I can bet you a million bucks I'll be returning once I finish as well. Did the same thing with your Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows reading vlogs (and reviews). As soon as I finished the book I ran to watch your vlogs too see what connections I could make. It's made my reading experience so much fun, especially since none of my friends are particularly huge readers and the ones that are haven't made it to QoAaD yet.
How did you not cry!?!? I was a sobbing mess at the end of the book. I can't wait for the first Eldest Curses book. Looking forward to your spoilery review.
OMG EMMA!!! That music box with the little girl on it! My mom had that exact one when I was growing up and my cousin broke the little girls head off as a toddler when she was running by the table it was on.
I was NOT ready for Thule! I agree that the epilogue made me mad! I still can't process it! I think I came off as a freak in my review because I can't handle this ending! I need TWP as well like as bad as I need air!! Thank you for introducing me to the Shadowhunters world this year, the readalong was the perfect opportunity to read all the books and it pushed me and now i am obsessed!
When I was reading the book, it said that the colour of mourning runes were scarlet, and since the UK Waterstones editions have red stained edges I had a PANIC about who was going to die + how much I would cry over this book
All I could think about was how Emma lit the candles so easily with the lighter. Like, honey, how!? Am I the only one who can’t light a candle without burning herself?? Also, Emma your selves are always so beautiful and I love them.

I have mixed feelings about QOAAD. I gave it 5 stars because SO MUCH happened in this book and Cassie just took the whole Shadowhunter world to new heights! But this definitely felt much more like a middle book than a conclusion to a trilogy. There are a lot of unanswered questions and unresolved plot points. Emma and Julian’s storyline felt anticlimactic to me, and I hope we get more answers in future books regarding the parabatai curse (I.e. why exactly they are no longer parabatai and have no physical repercussions after having so much heavenly fire burning through them). I’m glad these two got their happy ending and it was sweet, but I cared a lot more about Cristina-Mark-Kieran and Ty-Kit than Julian and Emma. My overall impression is: “I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS AND SO MANY QUESTIONS CASSIE PLEASE ANSWER THEM AND DON’T BREAK MY HEART.” TBH I was fully expecting to have my heart broken in some way, shape, or form by this book, and I didn’t! I just realized that’s what’s missing. Clockwork Princess is the greatest, most masterful and beautifully written finale ever IMO, and that’s because IT BROKE MY HEART INTO A MILLION PIECES BUT ALSO MADE ME SO HAPPY AT THE SAME TIME. I hope The Last Hours and The Wicked Powers step it up several notches and break my heart in a good way. I’m ready!
