I think in the TWP there’ll be a Kit/Ash contrast. Both exceptionally powerful ‘teenagers’, one raised in Faerie, the other in mortal world. Definitely a good/bad contrasy

Does anyone else think Jace and dark cheeks are going to fight for Clary and then like we're going to completely lose track of which chases which but whether I'm going to die and the other one could end up with Clary and it'll either be good Jace and will be happy ever after or it'll be evil j-school pretend to be good Chase

I might be in the minority here but I actually shipped Julian and Emma in the first couple books, but then I just got sort of fed up with them here and I mean, I was happy for them but I was just like, ok now let’s see some Kitty or Kierarktina or legit any other relationship!

But we did see other ships we saw the Hot fairy threesome and Gwen and Diana and sort of soft kitty accept it got destroyed plus we got a freaking Malik wedding

I didn’t expect Julian to get his emotions taken away but I understand why, desperate times call for desperate matters and we see that Julian has evil inside him and he’s so confusing and complex and I don’t think we will ever fully understand him but that’s how his character is supposed to be not fully likable but you can’t hate him either and I personally love him

Julian getting his emotions taken away (kind of) reminded me of Elena turning her emotions off in Vampire Diaries like it these two characters got to the point of desperation and the straw that broke the camels back were the deaths of their siblings (though with Elena it was Damon who said she should do it... I really want to know what Stefan was thinking when he asked Damon to help her like Damon's track record in helping people is not very good but I'm off track)

5 yes we need Kitty to solve their problems Chinese proposes to kit kit needs to forgive Ty and maybe apologize himself and then they can be happily ever after because they're perfect and beautiful and I love them but I think I'm about to cry which normally doesn't happen and now it's gone they are amazing and we really really really need to see more of them I think there's a tiny snippet of them in Ghosts of the Shadow Market but I haven't read it yet

I actually enjoyed the part where Julian didn't have his feelings. Because I think when over emotional characters go through that stage they come out of it more stronger and likeable

This ended up being my least favorite in The Dark Artifices series. I think I was just expecting it to feel more like a conclusion to a series, rather than a set up for The Wicked Powers.
I did still really enjoy it, but it didn't quite live up to how much I loved Lady Midnight & Lord of Shadows.
I loved hearing all of your thoughts on the book and chatting during the premiere!
My least favorite was Lord Of Shadows. But I feel like it may be my least favorite because I was in such a reading slump while reading it that it felt like such a chore! (also lowkey can I get your twitter or something? I saw you while this was premiering and I wanna be your friend) (this sounded less weird in my head sorry)

CoHF felt very concluded despite the loose ends, Queen on the other hand was way too open, it's more similar to the kind of ending I'd expect from a book in the middle of a series. The main conflict wasn't resolved, just locked away in Idris. And because Kit had so much POV throughout the whole series, it felt like his story shoud've been concluded as well but it couldn't because there's still TWP where he's a main character. For an ending of an entire series it was unsatisfying. Now if TWP had been supposed to be the second half of the series (like TMI had two halves), it would have been a perfect finale for that.

black rose, yeah I think if it was marketed as being a midpoint to a series then I would've had different expectations and ended up enjoying it more.
Or even if The Wicked Powers was starting next year or something so that we wouldn't have to wait SO long to continue with the plot.

I think I know what happend between the Eidolon demon and Julian, and why he couldn’t kill it with the seraph blade. I think it was protected by Ash’s blood. Because when Emma finds Ash in fearie she can see a scar on his shoulder, then when the Queen comes to the throne room she says to the king ”You wear his blood around your throat! Deny it, if you can!” and Emma can see a vial around his neck. And later, after the fight in the throne room and the king is dead Manuel finds the vial and takes it. And when the Eidolon demon is disguised as Annabel we get this: ”Annabel wore a blue dress, incongruous on the battlefield. A vial of red fluid glimmered at her throat.”

Before I finished QOAAD I was way more excited about TLH than TWP but the set up for TWP was so good I can't wait for that series now!! So excited that Jem and Tessa adopt Kit! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this family in TWP and baby Carstairs as well.

THE PART WITH ALEC AND MAGNUS DYING MADE ME LITERALLY CRY. one of my friends had already read it and she laughed when I was yelling about Malec dying
And talk about tragic and I can totally see that happening because they are like the best couple of the series come on there like the most in love it it's a most meaningful up you can see that happening definition alternate dimension the Raphael thing was hilarious I almost expect him to crawl out of that Dimension just to come in fourth Magnus to change his son's name wonder what happens to Simon in that alternate dimension

Tavvy tho!!! He acted so mature, insisting on not being left behind. And that part when he stepped forward and faced Emma and Julian when they were the first Nephilim!!! He was so brave and cute 🥰.

I think the part where Julian and Emma become true Nephilim was one of the most intense and captivating scenes I've ever read, I've loved it plus I didn't expect it at all!

I really disliked Kieran in Lady Midnight and it was only in Lord of Shadows that I slowly let him grow on me, but in Queen of Air and Darkness I really started to love him. Kieran had so much character growth throughout this series and I adored his redemption arc (it's one of my favourite tropes)
Is it wrong that I never disliked him even even though what he even though what he went made Emma go through I never disliked him course that's my curse of managing to see all the good in every character I can there's usually maybe only one character per series that I can't see any good with for this series it's the Dearborn which I'm going to take his one because come on out there isn't a single decent member of that family but cheer and yeah I saw the goodness in him hell I'll even see the goodness and Valentine and Jonathan Sebastian so yeah there's that I'm not going to be very good when it comes to condemning villains
My favorite part in Thule was when Raphael was like “and tell magnus and Alec to rename their child!” But this has been my favorite series so far in this world

Once I finished the book, I was just sobbing and saying “they got married” over and over again- my poor family 😂
Julian is just SUCH a complex character and has so many different sides to him that I don't think we'll ever fully understand him. But WHY is nobody talking about when Jace from Thule comes and says "give me clary" to the Seelie Queen like??? I can just tell that there's something big. coming for Jace and Clary and I feel like one of them is going to die in TWP (which we have to wait THREE YEARS for) and I will be absolutely heartbroken. But in other news, Chain of Gold came out (which was AMAZING btw) and Chain of Iron's cover is being released in a week!!

Queen of air and darkness was my favourite Cassie Clare book! I loved it so much!
5 yep mostly happy ending for everyone and really complicated had the most plot twists and the deepest character development but I'm still going to be crying over Kitty for a while
I got Queen of Air and Darkness for Christmas, and it's soooo beautiful! The inside of the dust jacket is just BREATHTAKING, and the characters are all so so so so so so amazing.

The main reason that I understand Kit’s reaction to Ty’s words to Livvy’s ghost is because even though he hasn’t known Ty as long as Ty knew Livvy, Kit doesn’t really have anyone else now. And he gave up a lot and lost a lot and found solace and comfort in his friendship with Ty. So I think he and his efforts of friendship felt disregarded.

Ngl I was kind of mad we didn’t get Magnus saying “Interesting” while walking in on a love scene in TDA. Sorry, just the whole “blah, blah, is that you” reminded me of it. Although the - “Why in the names of the nine princes of Hell are neither of you answering your phone?” and “My God, are you....?” in LoS was quite great
During Clary pov at the last battle She said Ragnor faked to be death a few years and pretended to be a warlock named Shade for a few more years. And tmi gang had many reasons to know Ragnor
Cassie said his fake death/coming back will be explained in The Lost Book of White(The Eldest Curses#2) due to April 2020
ACTUALLY, CASSANDRA CLARE HAD RECENTLY CONFIRMED THAT THE LOST BOOK OF THE WHITE (TEC #2) WILL BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 1ST 2020. HOPE THAT HELPS...

I did agree with your opinion on Kit after finishing qoaad however cassie answered an ask on her tumblr about the circumstances of the situation that completely changed my mine. I would recommend reading it. It really explains why kit did what he did and it broke my heart

so much of this book was unexpected, but I absolutely loved every second it. kit and ty, being my favorite couple of the shadowhunters chronicles, hit me HARD. when kit said "I love you Ty, I love you" I was seriously not okay. so excited for the wicked powers though, but three years seem way too long.

I also fully CANNOT believe how far the Shadowhunter world has developed since TMI. Like if you think about it in a chronological way, the series has gone from being threatened by Mortmain and his clockwork army, to whatever tf is meant to happen in The Last Hours, to then being put in absolute and total chaos because of Valentine and his obsession with killing downworlders and using demons to do so, to THEN being THIS CLOSE to an actual apocalypse all because of Sebastian’s obsession with power (all in the space of like 3 months based on the TMI timeline), and then this MASSIVE thing with Annabel and Malcolm AT THE SAME TIME AS ALL THE POLITICAL SHIT BETWEEN DOWNWORLDERS AND SHADOWHUNTERS, which then LITERALLY tips the scales into absolute insanity when Horace and the Cohort seal off Idris from the ENTIRETY of the remaining Shadowhunters who chose to go against Horace. Like when you think of it that way.... it’s wild to think how far Cassie’s taken the shadow world since releasing City of Bones over a decade ago 💀💀💀

Magnus putting the spell on Julian surprised me too at first. Then i remembered he is the one who took Clary's memories for YEARS. The spell on Julian is not completely out of character

I think the eidolom demon wasn't affected by the adamas blade because it was wearing the vial with Ash's blood around it's neck. Manuel found it with the corpse of the unseelie king. I hope this will be more developed in the following series.
It has to, we seriously need to learn everything Ash and his blood is capable of doing 100% Because we never learnt all of Sebastian's abilities so Cassie at least should give us Ash...

QoAD was truly a super amazing read, and it's pretty clever to build up the hype for TLH and TWP. The one tiny nitpick I have is Emma and Zara having an internet debate over whether or not Jace and Clary have an incest kink. It's been 10 years since CoA and I wish this hadn't been dug up.
IKR made me kind of want to slap jawhara I mean give it a rest this was over years ago will you quit being a b**** Zara and for the record no thinking you're in love is not actually the same as incest because they never actually did anything and I'm pretty sure being in love with a sword is just as gross just saying

I've never read a book in this series, but Emma was so entertaining and very animated in this one that it was a joy to watch all nearly 48 minutes.

I think one of my favourite scenes from this book was when Diana discusses being transgender with Julian and Emma. As a trans man, I was quite anxious about this scene and had low expectations as trans characters are rarely portrayed accurately but was ultimately surprised by this conversation. Julian and Emma approached the topic sensitively and put no pressure on Diana to open up to them. The fact that Julian researched before hand and Emma's protectiveness of Diana about Gwyn truly show how much they care about her. The line that struck me the most is when Diana asks if they are angry with her for not telling them and Julian replies with "You had no obligation to do that.Not ever." The questions around being trans and the entitlement people feel to know personal things about your body and identity is exhaustive and this line made me extremely touched and validated in how much I choose to disclose to people. I know this scene is going to be very overlooked in the long run but I will personally hold it very close to my heart.

Your review is on point Girl! I do believe Dru and Jaime will be a couple or Dru and Ash, I love that Julian and Emma can be together at last. The three some had very hot moments it was exciting to read! I don't know what I'll do to survive the years to come without those books...
My Approach find more books read another series and get invested in it and then by the time you're done reading it what time will have passed and you'll have your mind off of it then find another Siri Street and then another one and then another one until the next book comes out and you can get it and read it Christmas might not work because sometimes you'll just get in the middle of more than one series that are ongoing which I have to admit is awesome but sucks but still it works
