I can recommend you turning off some things so you can save more battery. Drag down the notifications bar and turn off SYNC. Then you could turn off automatic search or I don't know to call it lol. It stops the device searching for nearby devices to connect all the time. May sound basic for some ppl but completely unknown for others and it will make your phone go through the day without issues.
I had mine since August (pre order} , 6 months almost. I love it! the screen still looks good and the battery usually last me a day or I charge it twice a day :3
I've had mine for 5 months now, and I love it! I will never go back to a non-flip phone. IMHO though Samsung needs to make the following improvements and this would be the perfect phone: 1.) A larger exterior screen. This would make the screen MUCH more usable without having to open the phone for virtually every task. 2.) A better camera. The current camera is good, but it could be better. Also add an optical zoom. 3.) Battery life has been increasing with each generation, but could still stand for more. 4.) A hinge design that is easier to open one handed!! This hinge is pretty stiff.
Totally down for a bigger exterior screen, I saw it done on Oppo flip phone and liked it. I also like how Oppo's fold is more smaller and wider than the Samsung fold. Kinda makes me wish Samsung makes a mini fold lol. I love my zFlip and get compliments everytime! I went with the color blue instead of purple and I'm glad I did because the blue is soooo pretty!!
Great review as usual, what I am really curious about is how this phone is going to age. I don't like buying the latest and the greatest, I prefer holding on to my phones for as long as possible. With the hinge, there's always an unknown factor involved and if I want my phone to last me atleast five years, buying a foldable as they are now is really not the best idea. But I will always be open to the idea of buying one in the future.
I had the same reservation the z4 it supposed to last up to 5 years from what i read and thats if you open and closed it 100 times a day which for me is unlikely? Given the gorilla glass and changes they made it seems they are trying to make it last reasonably long.
Same here! I prefer my phones lasting at LEAST 3 years before buying a new one and the Flip's durability issues puts a dampener on things because I am heavily considering it for its form factor. I hope Samsung continues to reiterate the Flip!

Takes better pics than my s10+ which I've owned for 4+ years (that's to be expected but still lol), but after that one screen change I really do feel like in a year+ (screen not changing permitted) I might switch to the regular galaxy line again... and perhaps in 10 years or so I could retry a flip
Ive had the flip 4 screen changed twice in less than 6 months because of the same issue with hinge not opening uniformly or something and it starts with a line down the crease then grows as a blob and engulf the whole screen. Exact same issue, no drops and treated with extra caution, but I swear these foldables arent yet battle ready for daily use.
I got my Flip 4 a month ago, well aware of the Flip 5 coming… And I love it. Yes I’ll miss out on a few new nuances with the Flip 5, but I’ll be okay. I didn’t want to wait. And now that it’s been my daily driver. I know I couldn’t have waited… I love this Flip 4. I also have an S22 Ultra. And iPhone 12 Pro… I digress. Z Flip 4 has my heart. Z Flip 5 will be awesome for new users ready when it releases- but when you’re someone like me- you look at the Z Flip 6 leaks, and you know to wait until August 2024. ;)
I've had mine for a few months now. I love it! The only downside is that it's not durable At All🙈. My hinge broke after an 1m drop on a carpet... Safe to say I'm happy I've got a good insurance🤣

I had the iphone 13 but i was too tempted with the z flip 4. It’s great, only thing is the main screen. It damages very easily and hard to find an actual good screen protector. I’ve had my phone for 4-5 months now.
Having issues with the screen protector especially on the fold/crease area. It should be a quick fix but its a nightmare here in the Philippines to just get it fixed and replaced by samsung service centers.
I've had both the Zflip 3 and 4. Both screens had its protective layer crack and peel right where the screen folds. Love the phone. But they still can't get that protective layer right. This all happened in just a few months of normal use.

It's really a phone with its own audience. My first and only experience with this phone is the one being displayed in the stores that sell them.. and honestly, given the amount of times it was handled by strangers might be enough of a hint on what it would feel like to personally use it (physically)..and the experience was awkward lol. The fold isn't smooth, like most hinges i suppose. Actually unlocking and scrolling and whatever on the phone did feel smooth and fast tho. It's honestly too long for portrait and narrow for landscape for my taste. But I understand what you mean that it is a "fun" phone, and I might get too distracted by it HAHA 🐬

Honestly, I'd just get the Flip 4 regardless of the Z Flip 5 release (which are only rumours for now). But I'm not the type who'd get a phone upon first release because I prefer to observe how the phone performs on the market and see if it's worth my money. However, if you're keen on seeing improvements to the phone, especially the hinge, waiting for the Flip 5 may be worth it! :D

I traded in my flip 4 for s23 ultra. the flip gave me headaches with how easily the screen protector dries out, no dex, and narrow screen. it was nice and all, just not for me. I wish I had bought the fold 4 when it came out instead. Oh well, i might go for the fold 6/7/8 when they come out, we'll see.

I just bought a flip 4 for $330 with 256gb. Definitely a bargain to buy a 1 year old model. These phones are more durable than the critics suggest. Just go to jerryrigeverything and watch how they tortured the flip 4 and it still works!
Never liked the crease in either flip or fold, but what Samsung doesn't tell you is do not peel off the protector if you see bubbles as it will make it worse as only got a 2 year support or 1 if the crap screen splits and bubbles as they are make to to this, Rubbish from day one is these kind,

The OS is sluggish. Their mid-range phone works smoothly and faster compared to the flip 4 that I am using. Considering the price I feel other phones provide better performance and durability.
The point is you are not going to see it because of the portability. Mine stays in my pocket, and I can do most things with my Samsung watch or the cover display.

(Guessing despite being more ridonkalonkalously expensive, it did well enough, as there's a Mate X2 and there's a Mate X3 that's either coming soon or is already out.)

The battery lasts the whole day with 5 hours SOT. Its very sufficient unless youre playing games or anything heavy.

Only problem with mine is the screen protector at the right hinge has created a bubble. But Samsung will put a new one on once a year.

I just bought a flip 4 for $330 with 256gb. Definitely a bargain to buy a 1 year old model. These phones are more durable than the critics suggest. Just go to jerryrigeverything and watch how they tortured the flip 4 and it still works!
Never liked the crease in either flip or fold,
but what Samsung doesn't tell you is do not peel off the protector if you see bubbles as it will make it worse as only got a 2 year support or 1 if the crap screen splits and bubbles as they are make to to this,

Depends. It's better than the Exynos S22U, only very slightly worse than the Snapdragon model

I always thought 5 a 6 hours screen on time is good. Until I got my 13 pro max which can easily reach 10 hours screen on time. And 5-6 hours feels bad 😂

The OS is sluggish. Their mid-range phone works smoothly and faster compared to the flip 4 that I am using.
Considering the price I feel other phones provide better performance and durability.

I could've went with the Flip4 or Flip3 and probably NOT crank the bill up as much...but in doing the research, the cameras are a bit of a DOWNGRADE from the cameras on my S10+, which I was upgrading from. Sorry, but the sheer novelty and cool factor of the Flip (or even the Fold, truthfully speaking) just ain't worth it at all TO ME. I don't doubt that eventually, Samsung will figure out how to give them the same cameras as the S Ultra. I went with the S22 Ultra, and don't regret it one bit. That 100x zoom is one good use case away from being completely undefeated!! (It can do pics of the full moon perfectly fine. But remember that blood moon awhile back? Yeah, even the 100x zoom couldn't swing any decent pics of that phenomenon...) The Flip and the Fold DO NOT & CAN NOT say that their cameras can do that sorta thing...yet. 😏😏😏
Samsung's kinda lucky that Huawei got sanctioned into near irrelevance; not sure if it was able to perform successfully back when it came out, but that Mate X was poised to crush both the original Fold and later the Fold2 in every way except the price point. (Guessing despite being more ridonkalonkalously expensive, it did well enough, as there's a Mate X2 and there's a Mate X3 that's either coming soon or is already out.)

I had two flip 3 devices. Both with otter boxes, and both CAREFULLY handled. Both screens started cracking in the fold 4 months in. Samsung foldables are pure junk. Nothing more.
