Alternatively, if you have any means to back-up your save from a cartridge (requires a DS with the GBA port and I believe an R4 cartridge, though there are likely other means as well), you could open up the save in PKSM (3DS) or PKHex (PC) and those should let you know. Not exactly accessible as you need a lot of other stuff, but a lot of people have them so like I said, just an alternative.

I just now caught my first, FIRST ever shiny pre-Gen 6, and I'm excited to use it to find my SID so I can do RNG manipulation like how you demonstrate in your videos.

I was just bored and wanted to know my secret id, and this video was super helpful. Even if I need to go get another shiny with no evs because the one I have gave 2 possible secret ids, which the only difference was a gender ratio that the pokemon didn't have.

I used the pomeg glitch and code execution glitch to find my SID, without owning any shiny pokémon. Thank god it exists otherwise I'd be screwed! 😂

Question: Ive deduced and logged a wild Shiny Pokémon’s IVs from my Diamond Save. Among the results, Can a Shiny Pokémon caught via wild encounter (with no Cute Charm glitch active) in DPPt have Cute Charm as its listed Method when its IVs are calculated through Pokefinder’s IV to PID tool?
I started shiny starter hunting on emerald using Choppy’s method and it just seems off to me. Have you tried finding a shiny starter and worked it out?
Question I SRed for shiny treecko in a jpn version of sapphire if I figure out my Sceptiles IVs and get my SID does it reset along with the seed each time I restart the game since the internal battery I put in it works. If I take out the battery to prevent new frames will I still have the same SID?
So it looks like I'll actually follow this tutorial sometime in a few weeks.

Update 1: I've gotten my SID now. I kept track of EVs until I remembered pickup was a thing, so now my Mudkip/Marshtomp/Swamper is level 65 after Winona.
Also if anyone needs a Sweet Scent Pokemon in Ruby Sapphire or Emerald, catch an Oddish on Route 117. It'll know Absorb and Sweet Scent.
Update 2: welp, time to get 50 rare candies from Pickup since I don't have a copy of Emerald, let alone a 2nd GBA and a link cable. My coral DS lite spoiled me lol

Hi blisy, I’m trying painting method in ruby for flawless groudon, I’m always on seed, but the groudon encounter has always a +-10 frame variance, even by taking the same steps, do you think it has to do with wild encounter generation, even if I’m on repel, or does it have to do with the mini earthquakes from groudon awakening when inside cave of origins?
It is wild encounter generation. Try taking different paths etc

The shiny pokemon I'm using to deduce IV's from, a Golbat, won't lower it's EV's from berries. When I try, it says "GOLBAT turned friendly. The base *insert berry's applicable stat* can't fall!" This has lead to invalid IV deduction. How can I fix and/or bypass this?

In my current emerald playthrough, I caught a full odds shiny voltorb. Never battled anythung with it.
I cloned it and moved 1 copy to home where i can judge it.
Can i determine the ivs from the copy or should i do the OG one still in gen 3?

Hi blisy, I have a question. Thanks to this video I was able to find SID for my Sapphire but then I realize that my internal battery is still good and is not dry. My question is am I able to do any RNG hunts on my Sapphire or is that out of the cards? I was looking to hunt for a shiny Latias.
I have a 2ds, an original pokemon diamond and I don't want to delete my old run save file 😅, if I get a shiny with chain method ( because I don't have one), can I obtain my sid?(having rare candys )
So if the shiny Pokémon has a gender ratio of 75 male to 25 female and the Pokémon I caught is a female then do I look at the 25% column and see if it shows an F? I have four PID's and seeds that appeared. It is a shiny Makuhita that I caught in Victory Road in Emerald.

If I already used all of my Kelpsey berries evolving a Milotic before I learned about this, would maxing out that Pokemon's special attack stat at 252 EVs be viable for finding my Secret ID? I have all the other berries, just no Kelpsey
You can talk to the berry master and the girl in sootopolis city to get two random berries every day and so, with a bit of patience, get a kelpsy one and then just a bit of farming (literally;))

I have a shiny Illumise but without knowing I'd need the shiny for all this cool new stuff I'm learning, I transferred it to home. I'm reducing evs in BDSP, but after that will these tools still be able to help me find my secret ID?
This method gives you the secret id of the trainer that catched the pokemon. So yes and no.

As long as you’ve caught one in FR LG and transfer to Emerald, you can still do this.

This works totally fine on any gen 3 game, even the GameCube games. The only thing it doesn’t work on is eggs.
You don’t need to do the leveling in RSE, I just do it in E for the ease of extra candies. As long as you can figure out exact IVs it works

So I wanted to skip th part with "catching a shiny first" and just cheated the rayquaza encounter to be shiny, caught it and I tried to use it to find out my SID. It tells me now Method 2 and XD/Colo and Channel ... so i guess you can not find it out with pokemon that are cheated to be shiny ?
yes because a genuine shiny is “rng’d” through certain values you don’t see (SID, PID) - like in gen 1 a pokemon was shiny in gen 2 if it had the right IVs - i believe a hacked shiny would reflect shiny but the wrong values so you cant see your SID if the values were tampered to get the “shiny stars”

Another way to find your SID quickly is with the use of PKSM on a soft-modded 3DS. You’ll need a completed D/P/P/HG/SS save on cartridge, a DS or DS Lite, and obviously a soft-modded 3DS that has PKSM downloaded.
For Gen 3, simply transfer whatever Pokémon you’ve caught on that game to Pal Park using a DS/DS Lite. Then, re-catch them and save. Remember, Pal Park REQUIRES 6 Pokémon to be transferred from the game you’re trying to check for SID.
Afterwards, check PKSM for the Pokémon you transferred to your Gen 4 game and you’ll find the SID for your Gen 3 game under their stats. PKSM is insanely useful for checking SID in any Generation spanning from 1-7…

@@imablisy Right. This is only a method for those with the resources to do it, and it’s less time consuming compared to manually checking save files using PKHex or finding it out natively. Owning a shiny in the Gen 3 games without knowing your SID is also easier said than done since the odds are incredibly slim to encounter one.
Since some people might plan to transfer these Pokémon to later gens using Pokémon Home, PKSM also saves a ton of time moving Pokémon Gen-to-Gen instead of using built-in transfer methods like Poke Transporter or Pal Park. PKSM *can* be used for editing save files, but it doesn’t have to be if the player plans on either preserving their Pokémon for later games or finding their SID. It’s an app that’s up to the player how it is used, and the requirements for finding an SID are much more friendly compared to needing an R4, GBA Back up, a computer, PKHex, and a Micro SD-to-PC connector.
This *is* a hack since it involves an external modded hardware device and an app to be used, but it’s not cheating so it’s worth mentioning if someone who has met the requirements wants to find their SID for Gen 3 without needing a shiny Pokémon. RNG Reporter can easily be regarded as a hack since it is an external software program, but it isn’t. It simply shows the results of what a seed can generate. The similarities between these two things are that they are tools for finding data, the only difference is that one app is ran on modded hardware and the other app is used on unmodified hardware. So although my method can be called a hack because it requires modded external hardware, it is essentially as harmless a tool as RNG reporter since RNG reporter is also an app that needs an external hardware device (personal computer) to function.
Cheating is creating an illegal Pokémon or playing with max IVs+shiny holding L on every encounter, not preserving the ones already caught and having a way to send them to future games without needing to play time-consuming mini-games. Finding out an SID isn’t cheating either, it’s an arbitrary hidden code that people argue can be used to generate Pokémon when really all it does is help know what seed players have for RNG stuff. If a player can find it on their own, that’s honestly pretty cool. Not everyone could have the time for it though, that’s my only concern I have a solution for if someone can meet the requirements.
Also one more thing I thought I’d mention… When I refer to this method as “my method”, I don’t mean I invented it or anything. This is just the typical solution I’ve used that I’m sure many people are unaware about. I just thought it was versatile enough to be worth mentioning since it saves time on finding future SIDs and even more time trying to find a shiny Pokémon in Gen 3.

@@imablisy You make a good point, but I think you’re overestimating how easy it actually is for the average person to find a shiny without RNG manipulation. I spent like 4 months and about 7,100 soft resets before I found a shiny Mudkip with natural odds lmao
This video is relative to finding an SID fast, so whatever information is available could help anyone. It’s still useful for people who haven’t found a shiny in their Gen 3 cartridge to know how to find their SID without one.
1/8192 odds are pretty insane and it’d generally be much faster to complete a playthrough of any Gen 4 game to access Pal Park than hunt for a single shiny. That’s a major accessibility issue for anyone just getting into playing R/S/E/LG/FR recently who’d like to try RNG manipulation.

yes and he does that in some of his vids...but u need them to be like more than lv 80 i think and is very tedious but duable, google the pick up chance to drop rarecandies
