@@flaregamer64 It helps that the gen 4 RNG algorithm is based on a well understood algorithm (the Mersenne Twister iirc) which is very easy to manipulate once you understand the seed and what advances the seed.
@@DeathEatsCurry There are two main PRNG algorithms: one of them, as you said, is the Mersenne Twister (MTRNG), but it's not the one used to generate wild Pokémon: that would be the Linear Congruential RNG (LCRNG). The MTRNG is used to generate the 4 bytes which make up the Trainer IDs and for some specific systems (such as the coinflip app in DPPt), which may be used to check the seed of the LCRNG without interacting directly with it. The various so-called methods (such as method 1, J and K) are just different algorithms the games use to generate Pokémon and different methods take into account different parameters. Tools such as Pokéfinder and RNG Reporter simulate the results of said algorithms for a given seed and RNG frame, allowing us to brute-force our way through the pseudorandom sequence of Pokémon until we find one we are happy with.

I did this with my Lugia in SS (had to play my Platinum up to Pastoria and trade two Chatots as I didn’t have National Dex yet). Took a bit but it worked and I found this to be a great tutorial. The only thing I would recommend for others is explaining a bit more in detail the Chatot portion just because the advance you start on can be confusing. Thanks again 🙂
I am currently doing exactly this. Does this stationary system not care about the pokemon itself as there is no box to enter what pokemon you are trying to get as shiny? Do you just enter what values you want and choose a seed and try to get any stationary pokemon shiny with that seed?
@@aleksi9470 If I remember correctly, that is the case. It's been a while since I've messed with HGSS manips as I've been doing a lot of Gen 3 RNG and exploits lately. Edit: yeah I have noticed in the video, Blisy's PokeFinder does not have a "settings" spot on the Searcher/Generator in Static that lets you specify the type of Static encounter and the Pokemon itself, but my version does. If you want to be sure, it won't hurt to download the latest version and use it. Just make sure you back up or note your profile settings like TID/SID and what not to be safe.
@@aleksi9470 Though if you're using the Static section, there should be an option to change Starters, Legends, etc. and then choose the specific pokemon to be sure. Should be on the generator and searched tabs, if not, check your PokeFinder version because I know I've had incidents where I had an old version and followed a tutorial and had missing settings/parameters or they were located in different areas in the application.

@@aleksi9470 I personally compromise on IVs more than Nature. For one, I'm not a huge comp player, though I RNG as if I was preparing for a tournament lol. But I don't sweat it if I can't find something highly specific. It's just fun for me to to manips so I let it be just that. Highly recommend you get a Gen 3 game and get into all of the manips in them, they're a blast.

I got shiny lugia on my first try doing this :) I dont have any chatots so ive just been using the irwin calls, little slower but it works!
Glad to see you're doing updates for some of your older guides. Hope more people find you now! RNG Manipulaton is surprisingly easy to perform in these 'older' gens I don't know why it's not popular yet.
It's not cheating when you don't need to hack your consoles to perform it. For Gen 4 specifically, there's little difference between soft resetting and RNG manipulation. Soft resetting is basically blind RNG manipulation without advancing the frames. All RNG manipulation does is cut the time of the hunt down from hours, days or even months to minutes. I picked up RNG manipulaton personally bc I didn't want to waste hours/days looking for a shiny Rotom (and even then I was only able to do it as I had caught a random shiny a while back and had not trained it). Anyone that wants to livestream a hunt with a community, I get why RNG manips are not something they're interested, but a casual player that might want a shiny from an older game to then transfer up before the Bank service goes down would be encouraged to try it out if they find good resources like this video.
@@Kiri68419 It might not be hacking by definition but shiny hunting takes a lot of days, shinies are suppose to be rare and hard to get. This method cuts it down to minutes and wasan't at all an intended way to obtain shinies by the developers. I have no issue with people doing this but it still feels like cheating to me at least.
@@HazeyInsanity You do realise that soft-resetting is a form or RNG manipulation, right? You are literally resetting the game in the hope of landing on a different seed. There's no difference to what the guy in the video is doing to what you are doing, except he's doing it in a far more controlled and efficient manner. And RNG manips are definitely not easy to pull off. The developers have no issue with people doing this, it isn't cheating. Gamefreak uses an open source PRNG in their Pokemon games, LCRNG. If they wanted to prevent RNG manips - which people have been doing for over a decade now - they would design their own PRNG.
I have been trying to catch a shiny Groundon since HGSS were released. Today I tried your method (I am familiar with RNG in 4th gen but only with eggs) and it took me a while to hit my seed but thanks to eon timer bip sounds I did in 10 or 11 trys. Obviously my Groudon is mediocre because my TID and SID were the random ones I got when started playing the game back in 2009 but I don't care. By the way, as I catched all the roamers, I checked my seed with Irwin calls. And I also used Irwin calls to advance my frame because it was easier than the Chatot pitch for me. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE GUIDE!!
Agreed, guide was great got Ho-Oh shiny and following Irwin's calls to see the advances rather than listening to Chatot was easier for me. Though I do think that Chatot is faster, I struggled trying it a bit before switching back to the call to finish the advances I was doing.
After so damn many SR for Ho-oh I decided to try this method for the first time and after many tries that damn bird finally shined, thank you for the guide Blisy! I have to try this again with Lapras, Suicune, Rayquaza, Mewtwo and maybe the legendary birds.
@drapion54 how many times did you hit the seed to get this? I've hit my seed 3 times now for ho-oh and i think I'm getting the chatot cries wrong because I've listened twice and actually just counted the third time and all have been fails/ what am i missing? If I'm correct since i have both roamers the frame for chatot should start on 3 correct? Did i miss something?
@@Armyvet889 5 tries, just be patient you will get your shiny. But just to be sure double check your data and change your chatot sounds; I have one with "AAAHHH" and another with "EEEHHH" play them at high volume to better identify the pitch. Hope that helps, good luck!
@DRAPION54 thank you for the encouragement. I have the cute charm id 39771 and I am up to 10 times or more or hitting the seed and I still haven't gotten the ho-oh. I'm not giving up I just killed it so I could move on in the story and I will go back to it later. I just need to learn how to master the proper technique for the chatot cries. I will post whenever I get it.
For anyone wondering, the Eon Timer calibrated delay for HGSS static encounters when playing on a DSi console is 327. I just got Mewtwo, Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, and Latios in HeartGold using this delay. Hopefully this saves some random person like me on a DSi some time!
I used the same TID and SID from the cute charm shiny starter video but this still took me 2 painful weeks… I realized in the end that I was rushing. Glad I finally got Suicune to shine! Thanks a lot, blissy. You made me enjoy this classic as never before. I used this method + dns exploit to get a shiny latias through enigma stone. It was a little messy because of the extra random advances in pewter city, but i managed to pull it by choosing a 4 advances frame and immediately starting the encounter after corroborating the seed with only one roaming pokemon :)
If you try to catch Lugia, put your advanced frames at 2 and stay in front of her. When you catch the correct frame with the roamers position, talk to Lugia. You dont need to confirm with Irwin calls or advance frames with chatot…
got my shiny ho-oh! thank you! Here are some more tips for people struggling with the ds. When changing the date on your ds, be sure to save your game at the same date. It helped me out a lot.
Thanks for this, managed to get it to work perfectly! I pulled this off for a Shiny Ray, but I had to switch from 3DS to my DS lite, the timing on 3DS is so scuffed for some reason. So if anyone is doing this with 3DS and cant get it no matter what, it isnt a skill issue.
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong but I'm not even remotely close. Everytime after going through my EonTimer Raikou and Entei are in positions that aren't even anywhere on my list in either direction. I have done the cute charm glitch in Plat, and was able to get the trainer ID pretty consistently but here I am failing miserably. Does anyone have any insight in to what I'm doing wrong. I know my ID and secret ID as I got them from some CFW on my 3DS so I am just at a loss
Man I don’t get it, i can get the trainer ids, the emerald/platinum shiny starter and the emerald legends. When it comes to the Hgss legends… I can never get the roamers/or the calls to ever line up at all. I’m usuing a modded ‘new’ 3dsxl any one have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

I was having trouble getting shiny Lugia. Entei & Raikou were landing on the correct routes but chatot pitches were not lining up, no matter how many different seeds or advances i used. I read through the comments and took a few things from them and tried it. i chose a lugia with low IV's, found a seed with only 3 advances so there was no need for chatot pitches, and then found a time with :00 milliseconds and got a shiny lugia first time hitting the correct roaming routes!!
Amazing! The only thing that really confused me is the chatot thing. Do you have a specific video explaining it or could you make one? I feel that i may not be alone in the confusion. Great tutorial all round though!
Can anyone give me advice on what I'm doing wrong? trying to shiny hunt Ho-oh. I have the TID 39771 with SID 39765 at the top of the bell tower. No matter what seed I seem to use Raikou and Entei are never on the proper routes when I search calls. I assume Im hitting the wrong delay but when I put in the calls to see my delay it says Raikou and Entei are on a route but in the game, they are on a different route. It's driving me crazy and I'm not sure what to do. The latest seed I'm using is 40050457
Had the same problem (with same IDs). In my case this was the solution: 1. Once you changed the time launch the game as fast as possible (Do not wait for the EonTimer signal) 2. In game wait for the first EonTimer signal and softreset the game 3. Then you can spam the A-Button until you get to the save file select 4. Select the save file on the second EonTimer signal. Everything else should work like in the video. I hope I could help :^)
I remember finding my first shiny in fire red. It was in the tutorial headed to get oaks package so i had no pokeballs. It was the biggest buttfuck that's ever happened to me
Is it possible to get a shiny Lugia within the cute charm glitch? I have a specific TID because of the cute charm glitch (so i also know my sid). I was searching for a shiny lugia ( I didn’t care about any specific nature or IVs, just a shiny), so i found one like you showed in the video & had Raikou + Entei in the correct spot, but it didn’t work. What have i done wrong?
if my roamers are wrong but the irwin calls are right whats going on? ive done this 3 times now (hooh, suicune, zapdos) but now im on articuno and the roamers havent once been in the right position to what my irwin calls are saying they should be.
Hey blisy! I followed your guide to get my Cute Charm + shiny starter TID/SID combo and it worked, well, like a charm (lol). I am now trying to rng for a shiny Ho-Oh and Mewtwo, following your guide step by step, however, my Irwin calls NEVER match any of the delays in PokeFinder. I'm making sure to soft reset my 3DS on the first counter, I set method to method K for static encounters, any ideas on what could I be doing wrong?

I mean: I'm trying to catch sudowoodo in SoulSilver. I know I hit the good delay with Irwin calls and chatot sounds, but the sudowoodo was nonetheless not shiny. As we have to answer by Y/N when we are asked if we want to pour water on it, does it count as an advance? (and it that case, I should stop the chatots one advance earlier)?

It goes forward by 1 for every roamer you’ve got active, and also every Irwin call you do. So I just keep count of what happens and then check it and listen for where it should be
@@imablisy oh I get it now, when you checked to see if you were on the correct seed with the roamers that automatically raised the frame, and you knew when to start when you did the chatot cries, thanks
So the one time I hit my seed my Kyogre wasn’t shiny. When I go to generator it says 67for advances and it’s the first one listed. Does this mean I have to use chatot to advance the frames to 66 which would be one before?
I'm struggling to actually pull this rng off and I can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to get Lugia in soul silver before the elite four and I have only Raikou as a roamer. I think I'm struggling to find which seed I'm landing on because I can't call the juggler from whirl islands, it keeps saying that number is not in the area. Do I need to wait for national dex or am i out of luck or just plain doing something wrong? Usually I can follow Blisy's tutorials lmao.
Comment for the algorithm but also have a question, do you think it would be possible to do an rng manip along with void glitching for the arceus in D/P. I once tried soft ressetting for it as I don’t believe it is shiny locked and I’m curious if a manip is possible This was a few years ago so if I’m wrong on it not being shiny locked oops

Can you elaborate more on the even/odd delay? The way it's described doesn't make sense. If I get an even delay, shouldn't the program just direct me to the seed I'm aiming for? Why do I have to change dates? I wish I was able to see a more thorough example of this rather than a mention, because I landed on an even delay and I have no idea what to do and the explanation provided doesn't help. Update: I changed the delay I aimed for, and I'm still getting wrong results from Irwin. I search calls from Irwin and I keep getting the wrong results of where my roamers are. Hey blisy, I notice something interesting. I just start with gen 4 rng and I've been doing almost every possible static RNG in HGSS, and for some weird reason Articuno RNG works different, when trying to hit the advances it goes up to 2 or maybe 3 advances per call or per chatter. It's crazy. What I had to do was find a good shiny 3ivs articuno (which was the one I was looking for) with only 2 advances because I had 2 roamers (entei, raiku) so as soon as I knew I hit the frame, the shiny would appear at the moment, I spend a couple hours trying to figure it out on out the articuno advances works but I gave up... Do you have an idea on what going on there?
You have to select soul silver/heart gold as your game. It comes preset to diamond for some reason which only let's you use method J, method 1, and wondercard
I keep hitting seeds FAR away from my target and when i update my Eon Timer i hit Seeds that aren't even in the "Seed to time"-list if i don't expand the seconds to +-10s. I can't be THAT far off, can i?

Dose this not work with lugia? I am doing it exactly how it's being shown and I know my secret ID is 51015 just like my trainer ID because I have this file cute charmed but I can't seem to get it to work. I can get the roamers to be where they are supposed to but I can't seem to get the chatots to match up with the frames. Because my file has the ID and secret ID to cute charm with a male lead dose that mean that I need to set it to that in poke finder? Or can I just set it to none and just not have my Jigglypuff in the front of my party (this is what is was doing). Is there something in the cave that's advancing the frames?
Ok I just got it to work and the only thing I changed was that I used a different time. Specifically a time that ended in 0 milliseconds. I wasn't sure if that was one of the requirements so I just chose a random time. That's the only thing I changed and it worked so if anyone is wondering why it's being weird even tho you are getting the roamers than it's probably because you picked a time that didn't have 0 milliseconds.
It does, just go outside of the chamber and you can call him. Like not the whole cave just any room that doesn’t have Lugia, usually right outside its door
I Hope one day there will be an easier way to get shinies, to be honest when I want to do a party of gen 4 with shiny only( not counting the cute charm glitch SID bcs I already did it) it’s just that it’s too long to hit the right delay to get ur static shiny so sometimes, that’s why I prefer soft reset bcs I can stay and play other games on my computer at same time( league of legends)
it does but it’s a bit more trickier because of the moving NPCs in the city, which will cause your frames to advance. i’m still trying to hunt them and it’s my second day doing it.
Great video. I'm having problems doing this for the Suicune on route 25, so far on my 4 attempts where im on the correct seed, I've hit 113 frames late, 49 frames early, 3 frames late, and 101 frames late, in that order (I'm aiming for frame 328). I'm using chatots to advance the frame and im not sure why the frame I hit is so inconsistent. I've RNG'd Lugia and Lapras without any issues before, but Suicune is giving me trouble. Anyone know how to figure out a consistent way to hit the frame I want. I'm using a Japanese SS on a DS lite if that makes any difference
It uses method 1 for all starters kanto/hoenn, instead of K, for hoenn starter follow this same video for everything else. For kanto starter, As you’re doing the chatot flips, instead of flipping to 1 frame before shiny, you have to flip 5 frames before shiny. Say if your shiny is frame 40, chatot flip to 35, and you should see your shiny in party! Make sure you have space in your party for both starters.
Is there anything that needs to be kept in mind regarding delay when you play on a 3DS? I seem to not even get close when I play on 3DS, and I remember people saying that 3DS takes longer to actually launch the game. Eontimer has the 3DS setting, but it appears to not actually change the delay at all. Meanwhile it does all work on an original DS.
@@compound6585 i know but there is an event where you can get the other through the event in Pewter city,is an mystery gift one,like if Latios is your roamer,Latias will be in the Pewter Event and vice-versa

This is a skill I learned, practiced, and got good at. That’s effort. I can get this instantly because I’m good at this. You can’t because you don’t know how to do it, because you’re sitting here judging how I play a game instead of learning. Say it’s easy but it’ll take you a while to learn and get the mons as quickly as I.
@@imablisy No need to get buthurt about it, soft reseting 6k times takes time and dedication, anyone can replicate what you do in your video pretty quickly judging by the comments. You are just skipping the hard work and time it takes to get a shiny, no different than hacking it in. I was only asking out of curiosity, obviously you can play the game anyway you want

I spent time to learn something, and learning requires effort, that entire process led me to be able to do this faster than you. Because I put effort into it, whereas you would not, because you'd soft reset aimlessly.

The emerald frontier is a BEAST. Rng manips definitely help you get a leg up.

I got shiny lugia on my first try doing this :) I dont have any chatots so ive just been using the irwin calls, little slower but it works!
Glad to see you're doing updates for some of your older guides. Hope more people find you now! RNG Manipulaton is surprisingly easy to perform in these 'older' gens I don't know why it's not popular yet.

It's not cheating when you don't need to hack your consoles to perform it. For Gen 4 specifically, there's little difference between soft resetting and RNG manipulation. Soft resetting is basically blind RNG manipulation without advancing the frames. All RNG manipulation does is cut the time of the hunt down from hours, days or even months to minutes. I picked up RNG manipulaton personally bc I didn't want to waste hours/days looking for a shiny Rotom (and even then I was only able to do it as I had caught a random shiny a while back and had not trained it). Anyone that wants to livestream a hunt with a community, I get why RNG manips are not something they're interested, but a casual player that might want a shiny from an older game to then transfer up before the Bank service goes down would be encouraged to try it out if they find good resources like this video.
@@Kiri68419 It might not be hacking by definition but shiny hunting takes a lot of days, shinies are suppose to be rare and hard to get. This method cuts it down to minutes and wasan't at all an intended way to obtain shinies by the developers. I have no issue with people doing this but it still feels like cheating to me at least.
@@HazeyInsanity You do realise that soft-resetting is a form or RNG manipulation, right? You are literally resetting the game in the hope of landing on a different seed. There's no difference to what the guy in the video is doing to what you are doing, except he's doing it in a far more controlled and efficient manner. And RNG manips are definitely not easy to pull off.
The developers have no issue with people doing this, it isn't cheating. Gamefreak uses an open source PRNG in their Pokemon games, LCRNG. If they wanted to prevent RNG manips - which people have been doing for over a decade now - they would design their own PRNG.
I have been trying to catch a shiny Groundon since HGSS were released. Today I tried your method (I am familiar with RNG in 4th gen but only with eggs) and it took me a while to hit my seed but thanks to eon timer bip sounds I did in 10 or 11 trys. Obviously my Groudon is mediocre because my TID and SID were the random ones I got when started playing the game back in 2009 but I don't care. By the way, as I catched all the roamers, I checked my seed with Irwin calls. And I also used Irwin calls to advance my frame because it was easier than the Chatot pitch for me. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE GUIDE!!

Agreed, guide was great got Ho-Oh shiny and following Irwin's calls to see the advances rather than listening to Chatot was easier for me. Though I do think that Chatot is faster, I struggled trying it a bit before switching back to the call to finish the advances I was doing.
After so damn many SR for Ho-oh I decided to try this method for the first time and after many tries that damn bird finally shined, thank you for the guide Blisy!
I have to try this again with Lapras, Suicune, Rayquaza, Mewtwo and maybe the legendary birds.

I've hit my seed 3 times now for ho-oh and i think I'm getting the chatot cries wrong because I've listened twice and actually just counted the third time and all have been fails/ what am i missing? If I'm correct since i have both roamers the frame for chatot should start on 3 correct? Did i miss something?
@@Armyvet889 5 tries, just be patient you will get your shiny. But just to be sure double check your data and change your chatot sounds; I have one with "AAAHHH" and another with "EEEHHH" play them at high volume to better identify the pitch. Hope that helps, good luck!
@DRAPION54 thank you for the encouragement. I have the cute charm id 39771 and I am up to 10 times or more or hitting the seed and I still haven't gotten the ho-oh. I'm not giving up I just killed it so I could move on in the story and I will go back to it later. I just need to learn how to master the proper technique for the chatot cries. I will post whenever I get it.

For anyone wondering, the Eon Timer calibrated delay for HGSS static encounters when playing on a DSi console is 327. I just got Mewtwo, Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, and Latios in HeartGold using this delay. Hopefully this saves some random person like me on a DSi some time!
This one took me a lot longer than my previous RNG endeavors, but I eventually got myself a shiny 5IV Lugia. Thank you for these videos!
I used the same TID and SID from the cute charm shiny starter video but this still took me 2 painful weeks… I realized in the end that I was rushing. Glad I finally got Suicune to shine!

Thanks a lot, blissy. You made me enjoy this classic as never before. I used this method + dns exploit to get a shiny latias through enigma stone. It was a little messy because of the extra random advances in pewter city, but i managed to pull it by choosing a 4 advances frame and immediately starting the encounter after corroborating the seed with only one roaming pokemon :)
If you try to catch Lugia, put your advanced frames at 2 and stay in front of her. When you catch the correct frame with the roamers position, talk to Lugia. You dont need to confirm with Irwin calls or advance frames with chatot…

I pulled this off for a Shiny Ray, but I had to switch from 3DS to my DS lite, the timing on 3DS is so scuffed for some reason. So if anyone is doing this with 3DS and cant get it no matter what, it isnt a skill issue.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong but I'm not even remotely close. Everytime after going through my EonTimer Raikou and Entei are in positions that aren't even anywhere on my list in either direction. I have done the cute charm glitch in Plat, and was able to get the trainer ID pretty consistently but here I am failing miserably. Does anyone have any insight in to what I'm doing wrong. I know my ID and secret ID as I got them from some CFW on my 3DS so I am just at a loss
Man I don’t get it, i can get the trainer ids, the emerald/platinum shiny starter and the emerald legends. When it comes to the Hgss legends… I can never get the roamers/or the calls to ever line up at all. I’m usuing a modded ‘new’ 3dsxl any one have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

I was having trouble getting shiny Lugia. Entei & Raikou were landing on the correct routes but chatot pitches were not lining up, no matter how many different seeds or advances i used. I read through the comments and took a few things from them and tried it.
i chose a lugia with low IV's, found a seed with only 3 advances so there was no need for chatot pitches, and then found a time with :00 milliseconds and got a shiny lugia first time hitting the correct roaming routes!!
took me a while to do this with a 3ds but got there with the help of this video and some comments! thank you for shiny ho-oh everybody!

Can anyone give me advice on what I'm doing wrong? trying to shiny hunt Ho-oh. I have the TID 39771 with SID 39765 at the top of the bell tower. No matter what seed I seem to use Raikou and Entei are never on the proper routes when I search calls. I assume Im hitting the wrong delay but when I put in the calls to see my delay it says Raikou and Entei are on a route but in the game, they are on a different route. It's driving me crazy and I'm not sure what to do. The latest seed I'm using is 40050457
Had the same problem (with same IDs). In my case this was the solution:
1. Once you changed the time launch the game as fast as possible (Do not wait for the EonTimer signal)
2. In game wait for the first EonTimer signal and softreset the game
3. Then you can spam the A-Button until you get to the save file select
4. Select the save file on the second EonTimer signal.
Everything else should work like in the video. I hope I could help :^)

Hey blisy! I followed your guide to get my Cute Charm + shiny starter TID/SID combo and it worked, well, like a charm (lol). I am now trying to rng for a shiny Ho-Oh and Mewtwo, following your guide step by step, however, my Irwin calls NEVER match any of the delays in PokeFinder. I'm making sure to soft reset my 3DS on the first counter, I set method to method K for static encounters, any ideas on what could I be doing wrong?

I have a question though: do you know if answering a question counts as an advance? I mean: I'm trying to catch sudowoodo in SoulSilver. I know I hit the good delay with Irwin calls and chatot sounds, but the sudowoodo was nonetheless not shiny. As we have to answer by Y/N when we are asked if we want to pour water on it, does it count as an advance? (and it that case, I should stop the chatots one advance earlier)?

How exactly did you know which Chatot pitch to start at when you advance the frame? That's the only part of the video I was confused by
It goes forward by 1 for every roamer you’ve got active, and also every Irwin call you do. So I just keep count of what happens and then check it and listen for where it should be

So the one time I hit my seed my Kyogre wasn’t shiny. When I go to generator it says 67for advances and it’s the first one listed. Does this mean I have to use chatot to advance the frames to 66 which would be one before?

I'm struggling to actually pull this rng off and I can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to get Lugia in soul silver before the elite four and I have only Raikou as a roamer. I think I'm struggling to find which seed I'm landing on because I can't call the juggler from whirl islands, it keeps saying that number is not in the area. Do I need to wait for national dex or am i out of luck or just plain doing something wrong? Usually I can follow Blisy's tutorials lmao.

So, do you need exactly the SID that the app marks for you to make the rng manipulation work? Or you can make it with any Trainer ID/SID?
Can you elaborate more on the even/odd delay? The way it's described doesn't make sense. If I get an even delay, shouldn't the program just direct me to the seed I'm aiming for? Why do I have to change dates? I wish I was able to see a more thorough example of this rather than a mention, because I landed on an even delay and I have no idea what to do and the explanation provided doesn't help.
Update: I changed the delay I aimed for, and I'm still getting wrong results from Irwin. I search calls from Irwin and I keep getting the wrong results of where my roamers are. Is there a place where I can ask questions?

Hey blisy, I notice something interesting. I just start with gen 4 rng and I've been doing almost every possible static RNG in HGSS, and for some weird reason Articuno RNG works different, when trying to hit the advances it goes up to 2 or maybe 3 advances per call or per chatter. It's crazy. What I had to do was find a good shiny 3ivs articuno (which was the one I was looking for) with only 2 advances because I had 2 roamers (entei, raiku) so as soon as I knew I hit the frame, the shiny would appear at the moment, I spend a couple hours trying to figure it out on out the articuno advances works but I gave up... Do you have an idea on what going on there?

Hi Blisy, my pokefinder dont have "Method K", appears to me "Method J", how do i enable to appear Method K??
You have to select soul silver/heart gold as your game. It comes preset to diamond for some reason which only let's you use method J, method 1, and wondercard
Could you also do the same thing with Method 1 for Starters?

I keep hitting seeds FAR away from my target and when i update my Eon Timer i hit Seeds that aren't even in the "Seed to time"-list if i don't expand the seconds to +-10s. I can't be THAT far off, can i?

I do not record through loopys software, I use window capture in OBS with area scaling. I never have stutters when viewing through it

Dose this not work with lugia? I am doing it exactly how it's being shown and I know my secret ID is 51015 just like my trainer ID because I have this file cute charmed but I can't seem to get it to work. I can get the roamers to be where they are supposed to but I can't seem to get the chatots to match up with the frames. Because my file has the ID and secret ID to cute charm with a male lead dose that mean that I need to set it to that in poke finder? Or can I just set it to none and just not have my Jigglypuff in the front of my party (this is what is was doing). Is there something in the cave that's advancing the frames?
Ok I just got it to work and the only thing I changed was that I used a different time. Specifically a time that ended in 0 milliseconds. I wasn't sure if that was one of the requirements so I just chose a random time. That's the only thing I changed and it worked so if anyone is wondering why it's being weird even tho you are getting the roamers than it's probably because you picked a time that didn't have 0 milliseconds.
Does this work with Lugia? You can’t call Irwin, so is there a viable alternative?
It does, just go outside of the chamber and you can call him. Like not the whole cave just any room that doesn’t have Lugia, usually right outside its door

I Hope one day there will be an easier way to get shinies, to be honest when I want to do a party of gen 4 with shiny only( not counting the cute charm glitch SID bcs I already did it) it’s just that it’s too long to hit the right delay to get ur static shiny so sometimes, that’s why I prefer soft reset bcs I can stay and play other games on my computer at same time( league of legends)

it does but it’s a bit more trickier because of the moving NPCs in the city, which will cause your frames to advance. i’m still trying to hunt them and it’s my second day doing it.

I'm having problems doing this for the Suicune on route 25, so far on my 4 attempts where im on the correct seed, I've hit 113 frames late, 49 frames early, 3 frames late, and 101 frames late, in that order (I'm aiming for frame 328). I'm using chatots to advance the frame and im not sure why the frame I hit is so inconsistent. I've RNG'd Lugia and Lapras without any issues before, but Suicune is giving me trouble. Anyone know how to figure out a consistent way to hit the frame I want. I'm using a Japanese SS on a DS lite if that makes any difference

It uses method 1 for all starters kanto/hoenn, instead of K, for hoenn starter follow this same video for everything else. For kanto starter, As you’re doing the chatot flips, instead of flipping to 1 frame before shiny, you have to flip 5 frames before shiny. Say if your shiny is frame 40, chatot flip to 35, and you should see your shiny in party! Make sure you have space in your party for both starters.
I keep going 1 frame over or under I'm not sure why. Maybe I missed something

Is there anything that needs to be kept in mind regarding delay when you play on a 3DS? I seem to not even get close when I play on 3DS, and I remember people saying that 3DS takes longer to actually launch the game. Eontimer has the 3DS setting, but it appears to not actually change the delay at all. Meanwhile it does all work on an original DS.
when on the 3ds instead of opening the game at the beep, you have to have it open already and soft reset when eon timer beeps

You have to hope your seed has a timer long enough to get out of settings, otherwise look for an alterative

It’s most definitely possible to get shiny legends, but not ideal for shiny legends with optimal iv spreads

This is a skill I learned, practiced, and got good at. That’s effort. I can get this instantly because I’m good at this. You can’t because you don’t know how to do it, because you’re sitting here judging how I play a game instead of learning.
Say it’s easy but it’ll take you a while to learn and get the mons as quickly as I.

I skipped nothing. I spent time to learn something, and learning requires effort, that entire process led me to be able to do this faster than you. Because I put effort into it, whereas you would not, because you'd soft reset aimlessly.
