I find it weird that sunroofs and large touchscreens start with 2nd base model but for functional features like rear camera, rear defogger and wiper, one has to go for upper variants.

Cabin feels airy. More natural light, natural air (if you are not in city). It's rare that a lot of people do something without a reason.

Key takeaway from complex ingenious car systems - Create problems and then solve them. At this rate, reliability will be the new luxury. Now I have more gratitude for my humble pre-pandemic ICE cars.

Need of the hour topic... Hope it reaches many and people actually consider buying cars for what is good in a car instead of Infotainment and speakers

Much needed for India and in Honda I have seen some things cannot be changed by anyone in a moving car and requires handbrake to be on to operate so that is another way to prevent hazards while driving as the distraction levels have increased

That's why the EU is so good to live in. They have high taxes, sure. But provide a very high standard of life. Unlike India, where taxes are more than even Switzerland itself.

What I want in a car : High performance, reliable engine. Easy to maintain. Physical buttons and knobs. Hide-able displays (just large enough for navigation). Analog dials. Manual gearbox. Hydraulic parking brake.
What car companies want me to have : Poor engines with low reliability. Impossible to perform basic maintenance upon, without professional tools. Everything built as a software on a large touchscreen. Electronic parking brake. [Basically everything that saves them money in production, and makes them money continously].

    Sir
Let us agree that all car manufacturers removing physical buttons n bringing most of control in touch screen software
Now in turn it is mandatory to bring lot of Safety measures like 6 Air bags, dual disc breaks, ADAS 2 drive, better steel used in car etc
So let us accept this n have the more safest car
V need to live with new normal

Of course the real DNA of cars had gone away 🤦 now all are gadgets. Recently i have seen an issue somewhere that is related to kia's touch screen, an authorised service centre quoted 42k for replacing the touch screen system and nowadays all manufacturers are curtailing their physical button and all the essential buttons incorporated to the touch screen itself this makes scary situations like if the touch screen got damaged u can't even on your air-conditioner or other needful actions and the replacement cost for these types of big screens make huge financial damage to the pocket.......

    • @vijuvlogs

And unfortunately because of Hyundai and Kia other brands are forced to compromise on good things of a car to give stupid things to attract customers as customers in india are just stupid
They value things in correctly and some fault in reviewers who value some features more than what is actually needed in cars

The main reason we don't enjoy using touch screen is because we have to use our left hand, for western countries it is still better because of Left hand side drive.

The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is Car to X tech to become a necessity in cars... that would make navigation, parking, emergency response, deliveries, policing the traffic etc so much more amazing and safer. Imagine your car knowing the chatting to other card via AI to know if the road is congested or not... I swear, next 20 yrs will be a tech revolution I'm grateful to be born at the right time of...3

I don't mind big screens but haptic buttons are distracting especially on gloss. Big let down in this generation of cars. Also safety wise 2 separate sunroofs better than a single panoramic unit. If budget allows a screen is preferred over sunroof. 😅

Pretty soon, we will be having a steering that is inside a screen - touch-screen steering :D
Q: Do we see tech. assisting (safe) driving - heavy rains, snow etc. when generally all the sensors go off and everything is left to the driver's discretion. Will tech assist in some-way by displaying the road ahead (in case of no/low lights), heavy rains/water logging etc.

Across India, in urban spaces/ city, the maximum speed limit should be 40km/hr i.e. 11 meters per second. Most Indian cities, urban spaces don't have footpaths for pedestrians.

Car manufacturers offering goodies instead of improving the driving experience. Day by day cars are becoming more gadget oriented and tech oriented rather than giving driving pleasure. I think middle variants of any car are best value for money variants i guess. Instead they can give us the customisation of extra selection of the features. Not eveyone requires sunroof but want to try ADAS. Like this they can arrange some features which can loaded. But yeah we have to thank them by providing innovation in every segment

SU7 is a funky car, doesn't matter if the design is a blatant rip off. But then Xiaomi is as much a car manufacturer as Nike is a shoe manufacturer.
The actual manufacturing is done by BIAC one of the largest car manufacturers in China, which apart from their own car brands also jointly manufactures vehicles for Merc and Hyundai

Very nice and relevent discussion. The response and views depends on who you are. If you are a 70 year old the chances are you are unhappy with too many functions inside the car and most of these being controlled by the touch screen. It is a distraction with potential for sensory overload and accident and it happens. How many accidents occur every year with people talking or sending sms on their mobile, while driving? Too many around the world. Touch screens are no different. If you ask a 30 year old, they are perfectly happy with touch screen with multiple functions. They are used to multi tasking in the car while driving, a nightmare for a 70 year old in the backseat. My son has given me many a heart attacks! "Why can't you keep your eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheels?", being my typical response. When Tesla puts turn indicator button on the idiot screen my patience has come to its limit. I dread to think what is in store for us oldies in the next two decades! I dread the day when you don't buy a car but a big screen with wheels, in which you are driven around (yes by the screen)!😊
