    Wish I had some of those tips and tricks when I did my cage. Great video. After seeing the cage in person at FSI, it's even better in person. Thanks for the video guys!

    Can you go over the product you are using to cover your bed caps? I have some bad rust pockets on top of my 73 and bodywork is not my forte. Looking for ideas to potentially cover my repairs after fixing the rust.

    • @JosephMarzo
      @JosephMarzo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the inside of the vehicle I covered all my rust repair with por15 then kilmat sound deadner then closed cell foam. For my bed sides I made bed sides from fiberboard and covered them with carpet. On the outside of the body I patched my rust with sheet metal and used green fiberglass body filler then a high build body primer.

    As always, a great video that’s fun! Looking forward to the next installment.
    If you can address it - I saw the overhead reinforcement bars in the front halo, do those bends need reinforcement? I’m thinking about copying your design.

      are you talking about the tubes that are at the top of the A-pillars? Those are just grab handles and not structural.

    • @nvrenuf_k5933
      @nvrenuf_k5933 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshusername22 no, the overhead brace tubes that go from the middle of the B pillar hoop to the outer A pillar corners. These tubes are bent to allow headroom, just wondering if the bends need to be supported to prevent collapsing.

      @@nvrenuf_k5933 Ah, yeah, I see what you're talking about. technically, yes. For maximum protection every bend should be backed up. as Eric mentioned "NO DEAD NODES". That said, there is a point of diminishing returns. This isn't a rock buggy that needs to be able to handle multiple hard crashes without deforming. In the next video, we'll show the reinforcements that we made, and they are more than strong enough to protect everyone inside, while still allowing passengers to actually GET inside. :)
