- A customer sent us there 1970 Datsun for a full rally roll cage. The car showed up completely gutted and sandblasted. On this cage, we partnered with Rob from Cage Kits. Rob 3D Scans all different types of chassis and then designs cages using solid-works. From there he gets everything laser cut to the perfect size with the appropriate notches. The whole kit gets sent to the customer where all you have to do is line them up and weld. This was by far the easiest cage we have done to date, with a very amazing outcome.

We did a CageKit for our 350Z and the fit was perfect.

Awesome prefabbed kit! Is there a slight angle set back to the main hoop? If so is this allowed per FIA rules?
I think a full cross brace is a better option for the roof, I also would look at running tube from the bottom of main hoop to rear legs. That would complet the cage package just like coming from the floor upto the strut towers.
We have more severe rules in Australia.

Does he have plans for making a c5 cage? I seen the c6 but hope there’s plans for the c5. Would love to compete one day and his cage kits look amazing.

Pretty rad! I had a question for main hoop fabrication, are you allowed any setback of the main hoop? It looks like the b pillar angles back slightly and I cant find anything about it in the 253-3 rulebook.
As vertical as possible but FIA 253-8 allows for a maximum angle of 10 degrees from vertical for the main hoop in section 8.2.3

It looks to me that this is pretty much cheating.
I watched your how to build a cage video and it seemed it would take many hours just tl figuring out angles, tube length and so on before cutting a single tube.
This seems so easy in comparison that it make me feel like i could install a roll cage. (Keep in mind i don't know which end the wire comes out of a welder)

Why don't you all use a hand laser welding machine ? It's so much better and easier to use.
Not strong enough, laser welding doesn't use filler and is only strong when the joint incorporates material to melt into the weld. Cages are always made with GTAW or GMAW (tig and mig)
