  • This week we upgrade the rear suspension on (DECAY) our 73' chevy K20, by swapping in some 56" rear springs, build a pair of rear shackle flip brackets and a pair of 2” shackles. I set the rear springs up with 4 leaves and the overload which was cut down to a lift block. Overall with the weight of the bed we wound up with just over 3" of lift, which leveled out the truck. #4x4build #4x4 #k20 #chevy #offroad #k10 #56”swap

I planned on copying the off-road designs shackle flip but I think I like your design more. You musta went to drafting school or some other engineering school cause the only other people I know that draw out things on orthographic projection are of some design background. Now I just need to borrow a buddy’s finger break

What springs did you use? I have 56" on my Blazer, but they are too soft. Looking for some alternatives.

Hi Josh, I hope this is useful. I used 52” 3/4 ton rear spring packs and pulled all but 3 long springs plus cut over load (zero rate) spring for the front, and the rear I used 56” 3/4 ton packs and used 4 springs and the overload (zero rate spring) per pack. And I’m still not sure if it’s soft enough. I’m setting this up for off road and not necessarily for the street. Thanks for asking and Good luck with your project my friend.
