Because that's a level of awesome we should all aspire to reach, but clearly never will.
Or the entire adventure was created specifically to give Andy the opportunity to make use of his impressive collection of Western Attire.
Either way, I'm imagining he keeps that wardrobe right next to his entire wardrobe of pirate clothes.
Either that or Andy already had the entire wardrobe of cowboy clothes.
...Neither would surprise me.
I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if these were Andy’s normal clothes and he just keeps some jeans and cool T-shirts as work wear!

Every episode of this series is beating the last in sheer quality of the acting. I think the most surprising performance is Ellen, because Edie is so different from Merilwen. But Luke's Delacey is amazing (I love his totally realistic, instinctive teenage reactions), Andy's DMing makes it hard to remember how careless he is as Corazon, and in this one Jasper's performance was stunning. That bit where he announced Delacey's act practically gave me the chills. Improvisation at its very very best. Absolutely love it.
Absolutely loved this episode! And I'm always sceptical of guests, but Jasper fit in perfectly. Can't wait for next week!!

Jasper is one of the Three Black Halflings, they have a podcast and TH-cam channel where they do lots of actual play stuff. Andy was a guest on their podcast last week talking about Deadlands, I'd recommend having a listen.
I'm only 10 minutes in but I'm wondering since Andy is going with "The world's fair" backdrop, if he's going to make use of America's first serial killer H.H.Holmes who was active during the one in 1900.... Edit: Spoilers, nope he wasn't

@@simplesimon4561 It's a replay of the video but there's extra bits at the beginning and end of the ep where they chat about upcoming stuff (games releases, live appearances etc), personal stuff (trying to legally dispose of a human skeleton) then post-ep discussions of characters, storylines and reactions.

The concept of a world fair in a world that explicitly is home to fantasy creatures like sasquatchs still faking wonders is hilarious to me in a way I can't quite articulate.
Reminds me of the Mistery Shack being full of fakes with real (and dangerous) things all around it.

I just love the wildly different GMing styles in Oxventure:

Also, Jasper immediately picking up on the chaotic energy of the Oxventurers and going all in with it!
GM Andy would never allow player Andy's nonsense.
Yeah, considering that Corazon is one of the biggest proponents of random lunacy in the D&D sessions, it's a surprise how strict Andy is with keeping outrageous nonsense in the back. Same thing with Dob and Luke, with Dob being one of the guild's biggest agents of chaos and Luke being more relaxed and "Okay, you can't do THAT but..." type of GM.
I'm just curious what Jane would be like as GM.

I think it's more like: Luke will let you roll for anything, and Andy will make you roll for everything.

I love the contrast of Luke in the previous episode he was in going on a throat shooting spree to him now being a star struck kid.
First half of all the other bounties: Establishes how evil the target is, tension, dread and death!
This one: Delacy has a fun day at the fair and Edie is trying to figure out how she ended up a parent
She did mention having a younger brother this episode.
It's not said enough but the music in this entire series is perfection

Not until this episode, when we were told this is the last bounty. Then I had to ask who the final boss was going to be, and Victoria is the obvious choice

I've gotten the impression she wasn't on the up & up for awhile.
-No talking about her family she's given up everything to get revenge for.
-handing out jobs dispassionately as if these targets mean nothing to her.
-no sigh of relief that the people who killed her family have been brought to justice.
Yes, it almost is as if she's using them. Although the rings don't seem to make sense on their own. The never seem to omit any kind of magic. It also seems weird that if they are powerful why would these extremely selfish people not use them?

Love how Luke makes you realize that despite being a deadly killer that Delacey is still just a kid. Also, Andy letting Luke and Ellen describe the NPC's keeps him from having to keep track of their life and details and places that onus on the players- great DM'ing on his part.

10 minutes in and we have an opposed roll to see if Delacey believes in cotton candy... This is why I will forever love these guys and their roleplaying shenanigans!
This was great. I love how Delacy is still such a naive child and stone-cold killer.

I love the way the "You get your hand stamped on the way out" bit is perfect foreshadowing.
Ah yes. Deadlands with the four big baddies. And Andy themed his baddies accordingly. Thought I recognized the pattern during the second bounty, but wasn't sure yet. Now I am. Bring it on Marshal, I'm here for it! :D

I have to say, I really love Luke's role-playing. Between D&D, Blades in the Dark, and Deadlands, all of his characters are so believable and immersive. What a talented guy!

Next time on Oxventure plays BOTC.... Can Ellen avoid being found out baby sitting Lil Monsta. Can Jane understand her Fisherman info. Can Luke find another Outsider to kill in the day. Can Andy not claim Mutant and can Andy understand his Monk abilities as well as Egbert is Paladin?
if no one is gonna say it i will: i thought Jasper Cartwright was the characters name but no, its the actor. somehow his IRL name is cowboy enough, now *thats* solid casting.

The dueling tournament DeLacy won, especially the last duel with Bad Ben Bellows, is the kind of thing a real Wild West show would recreate.
All of Andy's outfits have been great, but I am really like this one.
It's his most showman-like one so far, which is very fitting for this particular job
also I really want to get a delacy and Silas only episode (sorry I’m sure I butchered the spelling) I feel the unbridled chaos of those two would be hilarious.
I want to see Silas try and explain justice and law to Delacy. Edie was having a hard enough time explaining cotton candy and sideshows.
I'd love how impatient and frustrated Silas would get with Delacey, and likely vice versa
The most realistic depiction of taking a child anywhere. I feel half this episode was Andy wondering how he'd get them back to the point of coming. Ellen was great!

I absolutely adore Ellen's character in this game. She's as sweet as cotton candy and as pretty as a sunrise.
And has no fewer than four different weapons concealed on her person at all times

...Did Luke and Ellen not know Jasper was going to be joining them? Because I can't imagine they'd add on Byson Billy lore like they did if they knew that already. Or at least knew that he was going to be playing Byson Billy. Or, for that matter, delayed going to his tent to go on the ferris wheel.
God I love circus performances in TTRPG games. Just... PCs who as well as adventurers are also performers, PCs having to improvise being performers, etc. "Make a character who's part of a travelling circus" as part of a pitch is guaranteed to get me at least 2-4x more excited to play in the campaign.

I love that 30 minutes in, they still haven't realized they were SUPPOSED to talk to the Billy guy, the lady said specifically that he was their contact, and they're acting like they still have to work their way into this by sheer luck LOL

Like cringe, "Crisps" but call Fish and Chips as such. No, it's FISH and CRISPS keep it consistent, or don't even bother at all. Anti-imperial measurement but uses "Stones" for personal weight, now who are the Neanderthals? And I thought America was rucking bass ackwards.
I love how Andy is clearly the kid that loved playing dress up and then became an adult with adult money but still loves playing dress up 😂
I hope that season 2 has more Bison Billy, he is so enjoyable to watch!
Andy's doing great at GMing, but I really want him to guest GM an Oxventure so Johnny can go all out getting revenge for Corazon's shenanigans.

Great to see Jasper again, he brought an amazing energy to the role! I can imagine Delacy convincing Nate to join him in the show once they're done with the killing missions - "Introducing, the unkillable man!"
this episode might be my favorite since the duel... which I suppose was the last Delacy episode. He really is stealing the show. Not only is the dynamic between these three absolutely hilarious, but Delacy is thoroughly endearing and must be protected. Him calling her "Aunt Edie" at the end sealed it
Andy's desc of the fair is fucking spot on, I could even smell funnel cake as he was talking. Good on you Andy, I'm hungry snack time.

This was really enjoyable. Reminds me of old fashioned audio drama, especially with the ambient sound effects and music added.
off topic, but: there are shirts, and there are SHIRTS. jasper has shown up wearing the latter, and quite frankly i am here for it. also pirate campaign when, jasper deserves it on that shirt alone, we can get him and andy trying to out-pirate-shirt each other
I loved this episode! I really like the energy Jasper brought to this and Andy has been doing an awesome job as Marshall for this season. I hope that the end of this season doesn't mean we never get to see the Deadland characters again because I think this setting plays to a lot of the team's strengths in a way DnD doesn't. Plus, it is wonderful to see everyone taking turns at GMing.

Not really cause the spider webbing NEVER disintegrates or dissolves it only spreads and sticks to everything. Not funny didn't laugh. I live in an area where Spiders migrate and COVER EVERYTHING IN SIGHT WITH THEIR WEBBING! F off you.
This whole series is turning out to be such fun, and Jasper's great in this!
