The 2025 Volvo EX30 Is An Affordable Electric Reincarnation Of The Funky C30 Hatch

  • An entry level car like the Volvo C30 has been absent from the lineup for over 10 years but for 2025, its spiritual successor is back and its fully electric! The 2025 #VolvoEX30 is the smallest SUV the company has ever produced but it packs a big punch. The new #EX30 follows the latest #Volvo design language as the flagship #EX90 with up to 275 miles of range, up to 422 HP, and a base price of just under $35,000. It goes on sale in mid-2024 and an #EX30CrossCountry will follow shortly after.

    We were in Italy for a total for 48 hours, but it was def worth it to see the new EX30 up close and personal! We think this vehicle will be a HUGE hit with Volvo and we expect it to become one of their best-sellers. Just also wanted to clarify, this vehicle will be manufactured in China, so it will not qualify for the federal tax credit, but with such a low starting price, we imagine most buyers will be willing to overlook that.

      But it's up to the dealers whether they want to pass along the tax credits to customers via a lease arrangement. That's what Polestar is doing with their Polestar 2 as you probably know. Polestar 2 is also manufactured in China for those unaware.

      @@stephenwinter8892 Huh? Why? I just watched Redline Reviews do a review on the other vehicle and was interested in his review of this Volvo. I'm associating the two because they are both manufactured in China and he said they're not eligible for the tax credit. In case of leasing, that is not correct. Here in the U.S. at least dealers can decide whether the federal tax credits can be passed on to their consumers. Who are you to say my post is "unwanted"??

      @@richardmichael59 that maybe true. But it’s also a dedicated EV platform not a gas car platform so there is more areas to make passenger room. I’m 6’7” and I fit in a mini cooper but not the door frame of the XC 40

    This reminds me of an updated take on what BMW was trying to do with the i3 almost 10 years ago except better. I think the world needs this car and I hope many other manufacturers are taking note.

    This is a really interesting vehicle. I have driven the XC40 Recharge and was impressed. It does 0-60 in around 4.5 seconds, and feels idiotically fast on British roads. I think the rear-wheel single motor EX30 would be more than enough for me. A 3.5s car is just madness!
    I also just drove the new BMW iX1, which is a dual motor EV, but with only around 313hp. It still felt more than quick enough, and was impressively well built and practical.
    But, this EX30 may be just perfect for me. All I need is a commute car, we have a petrol SUV for family duties, so I don't even need something as large as an XC40 or iX1.
    Just waiting to see how much the monthlies will be.

    I'm pretty sure they're going to put in a head-up display if not and that tablet is supposed to deliver their speed and everything else then it's a no from me dog, and not doing a second battery option for AWD we'll see if driving don't suffer more than what they say it does.

      Not sure how they would be able to do it given it does not qualify for tax credit, which makes it more expensive than a model 3. Maybe even a model Y. They really need to go below 30K to stand a chance. Even in Europe, I am not sure it's very competitive given Model Y RWD is below 40K euro.

    • @Sl1pstreams
      @Sl1pstreams 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wgemini4422The Model 3 costs $39K, so is only a grand “cheaper” with the tax credit - which you have to wait to get back. It also is a lower quality vehicle overall, with inferior fit and finish, and isn’t a hatchback/crossover.
      The real target here is the Model Y, which this car outperforms in every way - including having a lower price.

    275 miles, eh? An ID4-ish kind of number. Seems like a good deal now, but I'm guessing customers in 2025 might be looking for longer range than they could get in 2021 from entry-level machines.
