Its been a project to say the least one thing after another breaking or having issues. Guess that's how it works sometime with boats. This is where it started ▶th-cam.com/video/-uy00acNPMg/w-d-xo.html The Green Machine is running the truck as been broke for a year Matt is super excited
Low refrigerant equals low pressure which lowers the refrigerant temp below freezing and at the same time low refrigerant equals low capacity and thats why only the first couple of rows freeze and the last few rows dont get much "cold capacity" at all. When you have the right amount of refrigerant the pressure is high enough to prevent freezing and the capacity is high enough to make all the rows cold
In my opinion hard-starts solve a side-effect but not a problem and then the client question your compentecy when the real problem manifests again. You can meg-ohm the windings to check for compressor or blower motor winding break down and if they meg-ohm good and the running and starting voltage and amps are good then you likely have a mechanically tight/binding compressor or blower motor.
At first I was inclined to blame the manufacturer, but then I thought of the Hinckley/ Morris rudder issue and am now bewildered. Both these two American builders are known for quality and you pay for it! BTW, how many hours do engines have on them?
Aaww the beauty of boat ownership. Even tho we most certainly are masochist, nothing beats the feeling of being on the water. Specially with a cocktail and a stogie....
12:05 Get a power probe and a power probe relay testing module. Plug the relays in and test them on the spot. Power probe itself pays for itself after two uses lol (That’s if you don’t already have one which you may)
Oh darn you should have reached out …. We been busy on stock island with a few boats hauled out. Today Matt was in Marathon and got poured on as a guy is yelling to him from his boat of course the guy is under cover Matt’s tools getting soaked … 🤣
@@WillFixThat The little Skill weighs nothing but may not be strong enough. The Milwaukee is heavier and much stronger. You can reduce that weight by only taking the interchangeable "heads" you will need.
Great video today. It's been fun following the 'pod' boat. Man, that guy is a real good customer, gotta keep him happy. Do you guys sell merch out of your shop for when your fans are in the area?
Sure Dan you can buy merch here on our page! Or at our office we have both styles. Harder to catch us at the office unless you come early 👍 let us know.
I was curious, what is your experience with thermostats, plugs and water pumps at 300hours? On every outboard I have owned, (all Mercury's) when I changed out the water pumps and plug, I can never see any wear on the impellors and no difference in how the boats run when I change the plugs. I do run in deep clean saltwater (San Diego area) or fresh water, Colorado river. One time I actually put the old impeller back in by accident.
There is a 8v dewalt straight electric screw driver i like to use i think matt will like and holy black mold thats not good do they have the boat windows covered where it is dark? And the punch bug thing is always a winner and how about that valvo engine and i have a feelings that engine is going to need a rebuild
The dongle is $245 works on Cummings another and kohler generators the software /diagnostic diagram is download I forgot how much the other diag software is
What is the history on that boat? What brand year and hours. It appears to be a “garage queen” .. “dock queen?”. I know boats are maintenance intensive but this one appears to be like the two MGs I foolishly bought in my younger years. Drive ‘em, fix ‘em, fix ‘em again …then re-fix ‘em. She appears to be of recent vintage, and I would really be irked regarding the constant issues. It is a fortuitous thing the owner has a relationship with your good service company.
Haha if those mercs were yamaha 350s every 200 hours change flywheel if not boom at least the newer ones I think like 18 up it's part of the kit they give you flywheel but don't pay for labor even though been design flaw over a decade I have a 5 pack of 350s if ya need 2 run mint just service 2 need flywheels/probably power head one not sure
Just my opinion but I have worked on all kinds of generator systems up to the big plant systems and it was a much better life as a tech responsible for PMs and repairs or installation and setup before software came into the business. I understand the capabilities and advantages but when you have to gear up with all the extra test equipment and attending factory schools every year or two it just gets to not as fun as it used to be.

That whole boat needs a reset button, great stuff guys God bless
We are fixing what we can to help the owner. 👍

Specially with a cocktail and a stogie....
Boat ownership is amazing until there is an issue … we are here to help build those amazing memories that only happen once in a life time.

Man that boat is crawling with gremlins.....lol.
Geesh poor owner…. Hate calling with bad news.
I was at the Galeon this past week. Was hoping to see you guys. Keep up the good work.

Try the cheap Skill driver or the versatile Milwaukee driver/drill with multiple heads for tight spaces. My best to you both.
Matt’s researching these as I type thank you 😊 lol then it means he has to carry it with him to use it.

Boats like that at least viking have build sheet /blueprint so can find everything

Could you do a leak test on the AC?
Good video yal stay safe !
Thanks we will 👍 Daniel.

Hate we lost daylight savings but another great video to make my day!
Thanks Tom … we get dark far too early now.
It’s always been Slug Bug!
Maybe depending where you grew up!
Bosch hand driver best or Milwaukee compact driver
Thanks for awesome feedback going to have Matt look into it 👍
This boat needs a mechanic on retainer full time
Yes boats this size we might have to agree if you want to keep them in good condition.

One out of two Punch Bugs ain’t bad 😂!!!
Jim we love the bugs it just gives us some fun along the way!

Fuel burn is your clue....problem is in the eng, not the gear
When and if you find a GOOD small electric screwdriver please post it. I’ve been looking as well.
Someone said to try a skill driver or Milwaukee for tight spots his comment is below.
John Malecki has a few good videos on cordless screwdrivers!
Thanks, I was looking for the “Will Fix It” stamp of approval of Great Book Keeping! 😂

Cheers.
If you think everything is going well on your boat…..you just haven’t found the next issue 🤪
Or you haven’t looked close enough 😝
makes me want to quit boating. how depressing
Well as you know boats can break and need repairs.

Might agree gets more complicated.
