Love your reaction. Isn’t impossible to not have a positive reaction . I am 68 started watching him perform on idol in 2009, a youngster st 53. He gives music a new element raw and edgy and beautiful all at once. As Brian May says his voice is a gift. I love watching
You should know that Led Zeppelin has never before given permission to use their song for American Idol. Adam was the first - it was a show of tremendous confidence in his talent.

Yes, Spike was at his place in Palm Springs ( actually Joshua tree in the high desert I think) when his wife called him in from his deck to see Adam. Spike put a new book out this I see. Haven’t read it yet though.
❤Honestly you guys need to finish this Idol journey with a 3rd part! He sang a few more you haven't seen, including a song with KISS and then at the finale he sang for the FIRST TIME with QUEEN! Please do a part 3 and you'll be just as gobsmacked, I promise you! Thanks so very much for your attention to a man that I believe is highly underrated as a premier vocalist. I love it when he skyrockets with his vocals, but he does it when the song needs it. Its freaking rollercoaster ride listening to him sing.
They forgot the ending when Adam meets Queen in the finale of Idol. You can see the chemistry immediately. He sings we are the champions with queen

There were a few more songs he did on the show but A Change is Gonna Come was by far the most important one for you to see because that one is just insane. Really enjoy your reactions and your perspectives.
It was so exciting to look forward every week to see Adam and what he would perform. Our family would vote like crazy for him. It was so ridiculous that he didn’t win his season (bigotry), but he is winning at life. I hope he is very happy.

Excellent reaction! I'm so glad you guys seem to be having a blast exploring Adam's American Idol adventure. That last bit at the end with Roger and Dr. Sir Brian May was from a documentary called "The Show must go on-the Queen and Adam Lambert Story". Needless to say, they absolutely adore Adam as a singer, colleague and as a person. Dr. Sir Bri calls him 'the gift from God" and as of 2019, he started calling him their brother, you can't beat that! I've seen quite a few concert clips from the past few years where Adam gives an insane high, long note and Brian and Roger have those priceless looks of combined astonishment/joy and huge grins on their faces that say "what did he just do?!!"

Sometimes it's better not to win as these shows often have restrictive contracts and have an idea of the image you must have. Adam is too much of an individual and way too talented for that. So pleased Queen carried on working with him after the finale.😊

Thank you very much again for your great reaction video on Adam! It was this song Whole Lotta Love that decided that Adam was invited to the band Queen as a lead singer. And the singer who won this season of American Idol said that Adam should have won. Everyone expected it. So it was a big disappointment that he didn't win. And for all the negative reactions under this video, I have to say that Adam does not imitate Freddie, he does not even have a similar voice. Of course, he has great vocal skills, which Brian and Roger really appreciate, but he's also a very nice and funny person. Brian and Roger never wanted a Freddie impersonator in the band.
Right.. and I wasnt just homophobia that caused him to lose. It was the voting system and the teenage girls who were a major part of the audience. They liked the other guy.And could vote multiple times for him.
Adam glorious Adam the most stunning and versatile singer ever. Not only that, he is very intelligent; can talk on very many subjects and is the Interviewers dream.. He is an extremely kind , loving, thoughtful and generous person. Why should someone so beautiful, talented and wonderful in so many ways hide himself away because he is gay, and proud to be who he is. Quite rightly 🩷🤩👏🙌🤴👑🌟

His "Mad World" is always in every Top 10 list of all idol performances. You should watch the documentary about how Adam joined Queen. It's called "The Show Must Go On." The clips you saw at the end there were from that show.
His fellow contestants used to go to him for help and he always did. He's a mentor at heart. He was a mentor judge on X Factor Australia back in 2015 and his singer won. He is currently taping episodes of The Voice Australia as one of its newest judge mentors. He also filled in as a judge during auditions on Idol one season when Keith Urban was a judge and had a death in the family. The other idol judges at that time were Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. He was the first Idol be as a judge and the season after his he came back as a mentor for Elvis week and was again at the time first former Idol contestant to return as a mentor.
He also sang " Play that funcky music", " If I can' t have you", " Cryin'", " One", and the final performances with Kiss and Queen.
Your faces are priceless! Imagine our faces when he didn't win!!!! But in the end, he won and then some!!
You should watch the final performance of Adam and the guy who won American Idol with Queen. Adam sings the hardest parts of the song. The winner is barely audible.
And totally forgettable!

Roger Taylor was 100% correct "Camp Elvis" is exactly what I thought when I watched him on American Idol 15 years ago ! How the hell did he not win ? He was head and shoulders above everybody else

He was the only contestant Led Zeppelin allowed to sing one of their songs. You missed Slash was on the show and actually tutored Adam with Zeppelins song. He was ama,Ed at his voice.
this is back when American Idol had real singers with talent.
I remember being gutted that I couldn't vote for Adam, cos I'm a UK'er. Even tho Adam didn't win, he was absolutely the winner.
He was amazing and yet he did not win because the American people could not handle his flamboyant style of entertainment. Crazy

You also forget the way that the votes were made and who the main group were who voted.Teenage girls. Teenage girls loved the other guy.And they could vote as often as they wanted. Which is ridiculous. They should have allowed only one vote per person. A lot of us older Americans actually loved his performances. And voted for the first time for him.
@@thaismatsumoto Actually Kris Allen won because there were voting effents in Arkansas set up to have him win. 37 million votes came from that state alone if I remember correctly

Oh no! Oh no! Soooo many amazing performances were left out of this selection. His performance of If I Don't Have You is OTHERWORLDLY! At least that one should have made into the video. I stand by what I said in my last comment, you should definitely check out his whole journey.
Oh, and since you loved the MJ performance that much, you should also check out Gabriel Henrique's rendition of Earth Song. I dare say he made it even better than the original (for me at least). I think you will LOVE it!

Sam Cook song was in the finale. Regarding your comment about other contestants leaving you should see the beginning of the contest when he sings Chers believe. The other contestants faces in the audience is priceless.

Good Gawd! I don’t know how he held those notes like that without passing out. Every week Adam just kept topping himself. At some point, he left the other contestants behind in the dust. So you see why everyone thought he should have won. Those comments from Brian and Roger were from the documentary “The Show Must Go On, the QUEEN and Adam Lambert Story”, which features interviews with Freddy, and traces his loss, how it impacted Brian and Roger, and how they became QUEEN + Adam Lambert. Worth a look see. The looks on your faces cracked me up. Thanks guys!
My favorite that season actually was 15 year old Allison Iraheta. Her duet with Adam on Foghat's Slow Ride was a highlight for me, though I did think Adam should have won.
