Welcome to the subscribers from our other channel! For the OGs already here, we will upload everything to this channel from now on with no particular schedule, just whenever we feel like filming and posting. Thanks to everyone for the support over the past year especially. It's good to be back over here on Life on the Blacktop.
living life on your terms..... something that 90% of us dream of doing.....do it ALL now, while you can ...keep enjoying the adventures and making memories..... high 5 to y'all...!!!!!
My in-laws travel the country with their travel trailer and used to do the whole walmart and cracker barrel overnights but they quickly stopped. Id recommend doing what they do now and look into something called Harvest Host. Its basically free off-grid parking using other peoples properties that live this same lifestyle. They started doing it and LOVE it.
Pretty cool video no anxiety there Heather stole all of it so no worries for Brian just give that stress to Heather or anyone thanks for sharing good travels 🧳 🥾
@@LifeontheBlacktop absolutely, look it up, it’s worth it. Just got back from rocktober there. The big event is in June. My wife and I love it, we vacation there with “our people”. lol
Even before the Covid shutdown, I've always thought that a home base is a good idea. The good thing is, you guys have plenty of time to find a home base and you can travel the country to see where you want that home base to be. A small piece of land with a slab and electric would be a good home base for a full time traveling couple. I do prefer this channel name to your other channel but you might need to tweak it a little to "Life On and Off the Blacktop". Cheers!
We will definitely have a home base again at some point. We haven't found a place we love yet to even look, but we've found plenty of places we don't want to live 😂 it's also a hugely different experience being in a van in a certain place compared to if you were vacationing at that particular place. We do out best though! I think I'd like a place for summer and do van in the winter months but I'm not quite there in life yet :)
Brian and Heather, I know that nomad life would not work out very well for me because it lacks "purpose". I keep hoping when I die I've left this place better than I found it. Just my thoughts as I continue to follow your channel. Thanks for Sharing! P.S. Just a thought. Why don't you travel down to North Carolina or Florida and lend a hand helping those people put their lives back together. You would be glad you did. 🙃🙂
Kinda out of the loop since you moved from your originally place to a smaller house and started the van build. You may have addressed this and I missed it but my biggest question is what did you do about your jobs and are you doing for income now? Safe travels guys! I'd like to do it but will have to wait til retirement.
🤐 This game of " Hide and Seek" has to stop ! HAHAHAHA I guess because I was subscribed to both I didn't even realize what channel you two were posting from. All Good though. Positive Thoughts and Vibes to you both. Stay Safe, Stay Dry.
With every shot. HAHAHAh We f*#$3rs never left, we're to curious. Waiting to see what Heather's response is to your next comment ! (she has the best shutdowns to your shenanigans)
Looks like you’re back in a more comfortable space. What are your plans for winter travel, ‘24 - ‘25? Any chance I might run into you on the road? I’m planning on November in AZ; Dec-Jan in Baja; Feb-Mar in mainland Mexico and back to AZ for bike week in early March before returning to Canada via Durango CO. And I agree with Heather’s assessment of the term ‘vanlife’. I consider myself and yourselves to be Nomads. I hope to see the two of you on the road.
@@LifeontheBlacktop maybe we’ll be able to get together in AZ or CA. Maybe I can convince you to give Baja a try. It’s a great place to be a nomad. This will be my second trip, first time in my ambo. Two years ago, I spent two months in a minivan, camping on beaches.

Lived in a 5th wheel for my job, 4 months. Will never even walk through the door of a camper, again. Good luck, stay safe.
That would definitely ruin the experience lol
Congrats on starting your journey, How long has it been now. Cheers and stay safe, Dave
Thank you! Almost 14 months total now. It's going super fast.
This is going to be good Buckle up everyone.

Van time travel? I can imagine it was mixed emotions, a whole new living style.
It's definitely a weird feeling FOR SURE.

We will probably spend most of the winter in AZ, CA and Nevada-ish. We don't have a hard plan yet or a timeline for anything. Life got busy 😬
