I don't think everyone will appreciate just how much work and time went into this. I feel like this is big aviation news, the full thing being fully translated into English.
And people still think they were murdered... This is a scenario that has played out many times throughout history. They should have gone around when they had the first terrain warning!
In an ideal world the captain would have said "with all due respect but I'm the captain and I and my crew new to focus so you need to leave the cockpit. " Also they wouldn't let anyone, no matter if its the president or or minister, order them what to do. They have 0 authority on board. If I'm the captain, I decide, not the president. But I also know that that's obviously very difficult as they can easily abuse their power and fire him.
They did the right thing to ignore the alarm. Military airports weren't in the plane's data base, so it didn't know it was landing, so it just started the Terrain Ahead alarm.
Hi guys. I'm working on correcting the subtitles. Give me 1-2 more days, it's a lot of work :) Everything is checked with the official Polish transcriptions to make sure it's accurate!
Thank you for your hard word in translating this……it’s the first time I’ve seen such a long portion of a foreign voice recorder translated into English. It’s such a sad listen though - the crew were so young and they were happy at the start. Russia had no hand in this tragedy. People will always harp on about Russia downing the aircraft and I can’t understand why they’d say that if they’d read the reports. I certainly don’t think it’s fair that the aircrew were blamed either - they were pretty much forced to land at an airport that was unusable due to the weather and that had no ILS capability. One of the captain’s colleagues on a previous flight had lost his job for refusing an unsafe landing and that would’ve also had an effect on him. Poor guy.
38:05 can you hear the navigator says 11 not 20 from investigator says this is not 20 but 11 (correction from investigator) or translated in russian "одиннадцать" you cant hear navigator says одиннадцать because the ATC speaking with pilot in same time and causes you hear двадцать (20)
It hasn’t been slowed down, this is the correct speed. The “Russian” version has been edited, faster speed, high pitch etc. There is also suspicion that the Russian version has been intentionally manipulated / altered.
@@snippaerlobkdeafustsaliaslop there’s a lot of evidence they tried to cover the accident up. Destroying the wreckage, refusing the hand back the wreckage etc.
@@alexhoe02 This makes sense. I was wondering why the most popular versions sounded speed up but when searching up the gpws and and less popular videos it seemed slowed down and I figured according to the offical gpws scripts that videos with the lower pitch had to have been the correct ones
"Horizon, 101" - the request of the air traffic controller to stop the descent and go into level flight. This is followed by the indication "Height control, horizon" - this means that the aircraft is much lower than the glide path (not surprising, given the rate of descent of 8 meters per second, at the set speed of 3.5-4 meters per second).
English subtitles added! Audio and video enhanced by Jerald Heiss.
Update: Subtitles updated and verified by Russian & Polish colleague.

Oh agreed! It’s been public on TH-cam for a few years now and I can’t believe it hasn’t been subtitled.
@Samuel Jr. Bernabe sorry?
He's asking if it's a Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft@@alexhoe02 yes it is
You are a rare gem in this small part of youtube. Thank you for preserving and remastering these recordings
Thank you! Considering this recording has been public for nearly 10 years and I’m the only one to decipher it, disappointing to be honest.

Unfortunately they had the lieutenant general pressuring them with his presence in the cockpit.

The best solution would be to go to the alternate aerodrome, the weather conditions were extremely bad. But the "high passengers" would not allow that
They did the right thing to ignore the alarm. Military airports weren't in the plane's data base, so it didn't know it was landing, so it just started the Terrain Ahead alarm.

I agree with you! Having the lieutenant general in the cockpit did not help!

Thanks the subtitles are currently being triple checked! 🙂
My Russian colleague is in the process of updating the subtitle 🙂
In a version without ATC audio you can clearly hear him say it. But I don’t understand polish so I just assume what the transcript says
37:16 last minute of the cvr.
I think i can make it again for full version in youtube but this is for a few month why you can hear a navigator, Flight Engineer speaking i can't
Myself and my colleagues use headphones.
The long awaited has come
Sugestion about subtituled CVRs with pilot's photos:

Aeroflot-Nord 821
Aeroflot 821 has already been published.
@@alexhoe02 Ok
This is pure gold 🔥. My condolences for the deaths 🙏.
There's a version without ATC audio and TCAS, I guess it's better for listening the crew without the ATC talking over it
Finally!!
Excellent Job!
Thanks!
@@alexhoe02 No Problem!
Alex, are you upload cvr Japan Airlines 123?
JAL 123 isn’t one I’ll be covering I’m afraid. Another TH-camr has done a VERY good animation video on the accident, which includes the CVR.
Great! I love this!

Wheres the CVR part?
The cockpit voice recording is the duration of the video? 🤨
So the Polish 101 callsign was "Horizon"?

No, the recording is a recreation.

Yes these were the best photos for the video in my opinion. There are plenty others which I have obtained.
