The singer is a brilliant comedian and actor too. He also sang a live duet in church during the royal wedding of our Swedish crown princess. 🇸🇪😊
One of my favorites! I was a teenager at the time and nearly 60 now!!!! Ahhh, the good old days!
Me, too Polly. All those great songs of the 70s
OMG!!!! Listening to my radio in my bedroom as a young teenager!!! Dang the memories are pouring in... 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Jovaughnnn Im absolutely luvin your enjoyment listeninto all these GREATS 😀😀😀😀 YEW!!!
You did it to me again 👍 another one I haven't heard in forever. So many songs you play that I just forgot about. Thanks 😊
🙏🙏🙏🤩
This is a cover of a B.J. Thomas hit. You're absolutely right. It was featured in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I like BJ Thomas' rendition better. But this is more 'fun' 🙂🎶💃
David Hasselhoff did a cover, too! XD
this version was morepopular
If you react to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, you would not be disappointed! I was introduced to so much music because of that. This is such a fun song!
Once he’s done that. Blues Brothers, The Wanderers, The Big Chill, and Reservoir Dogs sound tracks. Undercover brother the first movie also had some great references to awesome music!
@@horsefootrot8044 yes and also the Dazed and Confused soundtrack is Awesome too...all 70s!
@ted ritola Or even better, a 60's kid!!!!
Oh, I absolutely loved the soundtrack of that movie even though most of it was from before _I_ was born. And guess what--it was one of the biggest-selling albums of that year, ABOVE the new stuff!
I love oldies but gotg made me realise these songs existed I’m 20 it’s a blessing
You are killing it tonight, Jay! Love that early 70s pop. Keep it coming!
This singer is named Björn Skifs and hes somewhat of a legend here in Sweden
Hear, hear
Yes he was and as far as i'm concerned he was a legend to me
His voice is definitely legend. From Texas.
This song was originally performed by the always great and still performing BJ Thomas and went to #5 in 1969.
BJ Thomas is definitely one to add to your list...especially since he is still alive and performing:
Some of his best:
Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song
Hooked on a Feeling
Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head
I never knew that! x
Until he just passed away the other day. R.I.P. BJ Thomas
Björn Skifs is shortened to BJ in usa?
whoa, BJ Thomas is a name I haven't heard in eons. Thanks for the reminder!!
He's a hell of a singer in that Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck sorta vibe.
ooga chaka, ooga ooga ooga chaka, was a weird way to start out a song, but it worked.
it really didnt its better without
This song belonged to B.J. Thomas who you should check out. He had some nice hits in the 1960s. Raindrops Are Falling On My Head, I Just Cant Help Believing.
Clyde Barrow 👏👏👏 he also sang the title for that TV show Growing Pains, As long as we’ve got each other.
My favorite is "[Hey, won't you play] Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song"
BJ still performs...awesome performer :)
Eyes of a New York Woman and Mama.
B J Thomas is amazing. Ive been friends with his daughter for years. So grew up a huge fan and he has a great voice.
Clyde Barrow I liked B.J.s Songs.
I love to watch you lovin on these 70s songs I love so much!
One of my all time favorites ♥️Never My Love is another great by them 💙
Great song from the past.
Six new videos and I don’t have time to watch them all before work! I’ve had Sylvia’s Mother in my head all day. Now I’ll have Ooga Chaka in my head all night, lol. 😂
Lmao!!! So true :))
😂😂
You are on a roll with some old classics. Thanks needed these.
It's always fun to see the light come on when you realize you've heard it before! Guardians of the Galaxy is where you heard ELO - Mr. Blue Sky too.
I love how much you appreciate all genres of music and how you seem to smile even when you're talking 👍👌
A Great one hit wonder Band another one is Brandy by looking Glass.
Yes!!!! Brandy by Looking Glass!!!! Please!!!!
One of my very favorite songs from back then!
Actually a two hit wonder. They also had a hit with a cover of The Association's Never My Love.
A one hit wonder in the US but he (Björn Skifs) is quite big in Sweden. They never expected this song to become a hit in the USand were not prepared for it. Skifs were on tour in Sweden and didn't want to cut it short to disappoint his fans here to visit the US and when he went severals months later it was to late. But still, he's done quite well in Sweden and is a all-round entertainer who's done music, TV, film, stage shows, teatre and, well, pretty much everything, and is a really nice down to earth guy.
Loved this song since I was 11!!! Your on a roll tonight!!
On my way to the airport to start my time in the army was the first time I heard this song. Great song...
Bruce Severson Good luck to you
Thank u for your service . God Bless You. Please be safe
This is one of my all-time favourite songs and I got to tell you, just seeing the smile on your face when you were getting into the groove of the song made this so worth it! Thank you so much for just being you and having genuine reactions to songs a lot of us I have loved for a long time. The way but you're so open to all different kinds of music that's not something you can teach somebody. Thank you so much for just being you! Tons of love from Toronto
Loved this song when I was in high school! This brings back so many memories. Thanks for playing such great music! Wonderful reaction.
If you're doing one hit wonders, you gotta do Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye by Steam
Wow haven't heard this one forever. Thanks. Love this song.
Of course it was GOTG! Thus, the "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" graphic. Lol!
I remember when this song was released... we were ALL hooked on that Ooga-Chaka! 😅
Blue Swede sounds like "Blue Sweed" they are from Sweden.
Think of the song, Blue Suede Shoes 😉
@@tedharvick9010 Um, no. Not "swade" here. It's
Sweed.
I grew up in the 60's and 70's. This kind of lick was all over AM and FM all the time. From Three Dog Night to Gladys Knight, it was gold.
My wife and I were both born in the 60's. One day two of her young grandsons came out and started serenading her with this song. She was floored, where had they herd this song? G of the G,needless to say it was a great moment for her.
I remember when this song came out. They played it all the time on our AM radio station. It was just before we had a good FM station. Song still makes me grin like it did back then.
Always loved this song too-grew up with it! But don't say I'm old😅
Another one from my childhood... keep it up, your doing great.
This was popular during Expo 74 world's fair in Spokane, Washington!
I really enjoy your little grunt-like sounds you use to express appreciation or a vibe moment. Sweet!
:-O
The cassette tape wheels are moving. Melts my nostalgic heart.
This is one of my new favourite channels. Watching this guy discover all this great music is brilliant
Another 70's AM radio staple....memory of going on vacation and singing at the top of our lungs in the back seat of the car...
I Love this group. Bjorn skiff was my idol growing up.l truly loved this man
I used to have a blast singing this. Lhm had totally forgotten it existed. What a happy tune
Oh man... this is crazy!! Wow! I totally forgot this song! Love this!!
Hooked On A Feeling...awesome and classic hit...play it in any disco or bar/dance club...especially on 70s/80s Night and you will see everyone go wild to this song....this is a great "crowd song"....like Sweet Caroline, Brandy, Brown-eyed Girl, Country Roads, Daydream Believer, Play That Funky Music White Boy, etc :)
I have loved this song from the minute it hit the airwaves!
"He may have been your father boy, but he wasn't your daddy!"
"I'm Mary Poppins Y'all!"
That was Vol.2, but still. LOL
Two of the best soundtracks ever!😄
😆🤣
Love watching you listen to new music. I’m hearing songs I haven’t heard in a long time!
This song goes way back and it never gets bored. Gives a really good vibe.
Not only am I 💙💙 that you are playing my music from my youth.......but listening to you try to pronounce their names, keep up the great job. This song was also made famous in the 90's, when Ally McBeal had the dancing baby groove to this song.
Reminds me of being about 11 or 12 in the early 70's. Loved this song. BJ Thomas did it also but Blue Swede did it sooooo much better! The 70's were so much fun to be a kid and teenager.
I absolutely 💯 love 💘 this song wonderful happy song 🎵 yea love this 🎵
This song is also in the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, one of the best soundtracks in my opinion
I still can't hear "stuck in the middle with you" without thinking of that scene in res dogs, classic
I swear no matter what I get goose bumps at the very first bass drop
Great song ,spent many days skating to this . Yes in the 70s we really did roller skate .
I couldn't remember that song by name. But soon as the track started all the lyrics came rushing back. ❤ What a Great Feeling! You Rock Jayvee 🖐
so many great songs from this era are overlooked
Oh yeah!!! Spending summer at the neighborhood pool! I’m THERE again!
💖💖👏👏🎵🎵 let’s dance !!! Brings me back decades
I just love your reactions
Me, too!
I just love seeing and hearing your reactions....makes me smile every time!
Thank you
This was a cover...Originally sang by B.J.Thomas in the '60's...
1969 to be exact. The Swedes version was 1974.
You obviously love music...and I do too...Really kewl...Makes us friends with listening to the GOOD STUFF...This was a Novelty song when it first came out by this group Blue Sweed. There was a much more straight forward version out previously by B. J Thomas. Liked that one too. My band was playing cover songs in clubs at the time and we didn't know what to make of this version at first but decided to play it anyway. People loved it! Even along with us doing more serious covers like Yes, ELO ,Uriah heep, and a Full Moody Blues set etc...Fun song always reminded me of a Reggae beat in a Bob Marley. *CHEERS and ROCK on!*
Wow bUsting them out tonight are we 🎶🎶🎶🎶🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️💕❤️💕💕♥️
I haven't heard this song in sooooo long. It was popular when I was 14 and I played it in my room every day and I was usually up dancing while my homework laid on my bed waiting for me. lol Thanks for rebooting the memory for me, Jay.... Take care and be well, Jay. Peace.
I KNEW you would LOVE this song soo hard 🎵🎵🤟🤟. You're pure joy makes my day soo much better!! ❤️ I really think you have incredible taste & I am going on this journey with you s as you fall in love with music I grew up on 🤟🤟🎵
As soon as I saw what song you were reviewing I had to watch! I had this on 45 as a kid!
Back in the day, groups would "cover" songs that were hits by other artists. This was an example of a song that was a hit twice. The original, by BJ Thomas was a big hit in 1968. This unique cover by an unknown group called Blue Suede, was a hit in 1974. The versions are very different from each other, and each artist makes it "their own".
It used to drive my mom crazy when I'd walk around the house yelling "Ooga Chukka Ooga Ooga Ooga Chukka" at the top of my lungs!
I played this twice because I like it so much. Of course I was singing along.
These old songs will, never let you down, and Jovaughn there's still so much more, to dive into.
@jayveetv, when you start singing along, that's when we know you're really into it. :)
You need to find the live version from the 70’s. Fun to watch them
Love your reaction! I've loved this song since I was a kid.
Love your reaction! 😁
Wow! Really brings me back Haha
Ahhh...the OOGA CHACKA song. LOL! Great memories from my youth. Blue Swede also does a great cover of "Never My Love".
Bjorn Skifs, the singer,is a welll respected artist here in Sweden.🎶👍❤️
I remember hearing this song when it first dropped. I was a kid and that ooga-chaka drove me nuts. I loved it. Always been one of my all-time favorite songs.
I loved this song. It was really popular when I was about 12.
Loved this reaction! I was 13 when this came out & can STILL clearly remember the first time I heard it on the radio. The "ooga shakas" cracked me up so bad I fell off the back seat & ended up on the floor of the car, giggling like a complete loon. Loved it. Somebody did a later (I think) cover without the "ooga shakas" & it was just....blah.
Yep , Guardians WOOOO! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Another GREAT jam! Love ur reactions! You're adorable!
Fabulous, thanks J. Sweed as in Swede a person from Sweden. I had no idea who sang this but recognised it as soon as it started proper
I had forgotten all about this song. Liked it, as well!
Get it, JV! LOL...u had me dancing too!
VERY HUGE HIT back then. There was no one who didn't know this song I remember as a very little kid hearing it everywhere
Blue Swede was a Swedish group fronted by Björn Skifs. They werent the first (or last) to record this song, but theirs is definitely the most famous version
Love your joyful spirit and reaction to this song! I love this song, too, and always have to get up and dance to it when I hear it! Great job on your reaction video’s!
These oldies are timeless that's why they are used in today's movies and advertisements.
One of my all time fave movies 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and this great track always reminds me of the great characters and the excellent plot!
One of my favs!!!
Hey J that's a B J Thomas song you need to listen to him sing it.
B.J. Thomas will always own this. No comparison.
Yes, please listen to B J Thomas’ version and react. It’s candy for your mind.
Another great one from that time is Nights Are Forever by England Don and John Ford Foley!!!
TUUUNNNE! Love your vids ❤
I really love this song!!!! It was also played on Ally McBeal Try Red Bone, come and get your love.
an iconic 90s one hit wonder to check out is 4 Non Blonds "What's going on." It's got a big raw sound.
Just like Guardians of the Galaxy it's on a cassette...love it!
Oh! I loved this song.
Used in Quinton Tarantino's reservoir dogs before it was used in guardians of the galaxy 😁
Memories!
DANCE JAY!!!
So, so, so great, right??! Such a fun song. Loved this one as a little girl, too.
It's suede, like the material! Great reaction! 💖
