Just like old times! Except with better lighting! 👍It's like you never missed a day, Richard! Just like riding a bike. Glad to see you guys back at it! 🙌
You probably already know this, but in case you don't or if people watching are wondering, it takes almost 2 hours for TH-cam to render HD on a video of this length. You can post it right away like you did, but it will be in 360p quality until it finishes rendering. I usually walk away as it's uploading, and let it finish everything, then post it - that way it's in 1080p right away. Takes a LONG time, though. Too long!! Is what it is I guess. Audio was good - a little on the quiet side in the very beginning, but other than that, everything was right on!
That new work area is perfect - plenty of light, and everything is laid out where you can grab it. Maximum efficiency! That makes the day a whole lot easier. I used to turn wrenches full time out in my driveway - did that for 7 years! Couldn't work in rain, ice, or snow, and was very limited in extreme cold ... plus, crawling on the ground, getting up, laying back down, and walking a mile for my tools a hundred times a day really took its toll. By 5pm I was ready for BED! What a difference when I got a lift and a new shop to work in.
Tis the season for change. I've been turning wrenches myself for 14 years, and this year I've decided to hang it up and do something else. I took on a maintenance job for a big corporation in the city. Great pay and benefits, and I won't be struggling with lack of service info, RUST, RUST, and MORE RUST, and poorly engineered parts locations. Modern cars burned me out fast. I'll still play around out there in the morning on small jobs, but I'm done doing it full time. It was time to eliminate some stress around here. I just signed my acceptance letter yesterday, so I'll start work in a month or so. I'd better go through my Silverado and make sure she's ready for commuting again! Big change, but it was time.
Great to see you guys back! I'll spread the word wherever I can. I'll be watching for the next one! WELCOME BACK, Richard & Theresa! 👍👍

I just had an epiphany about the draining into the barrel/bucket. Attach a length of link chain to the end of the through that reaches the bottom of the bucket. The fluid should just run down the chain and not make any noise at all. 😊

You should create playlists with the videos for each specific vehicle for your TH-cam, so someone can easily find the playlist called "03 GMC 4L60E - No Second Gear" or something along those lines and watch all videos from start to finish without having to scroll through all your videos if they're trying to diagnose their own issues

So happy your back, been watching you for about 2 years now. Even joined your Facebook group.
Some feed back on your new video:
    * Lighting is excellent.
    * Video quality is clear and excellent (I watch it back on my large tv in 1080p.
*Sound is good. You may be slightly more quite but the setting you have it at is a perfect balance between you and the air tools. The tools didn't get super load and the voice doesn't mute down for compromisation. My opinion keep it where you got it when using air tools. If you go to electric, try the gain 1 more and see, but it may be perfect for that too all ready. It also seems to have better response to the higher noises like air flow, gives it that more realistic sound from tools I know and use.
*Bucket drip noise.. Try an old window screen. The ones designed to keep bugs out or that multie tight weave stuff that's used for people with pets to be tougher. Hang some strips down from inside the trench then straight down to the bucket. The oil in most cases will stick to it and flow right down instead of free fall drip.
I am really happy you are back, and wish you the best and hope you keep the videos coming!

Hi Richard and Miss Teresa, The first thing I learned workin flat rate ,many moons ago, is that every move you make has to be profitable or you are losing money And it took me a few months of not making over 40 hrs to learn it, but I finally got it. But I refused to take short cuts like some techs did. That covers work your area, tools and everything else to do with the Job,including my attitude. Nice job Teresa!!

Still have all the videos to watch since finding this channel again, so I'm not sure if this has been brought up or not. If you want to stop the dripping noise from the oil draining from the autopsy table, simply attach a cable or small chain to the end of the channel and drop it into whatever is doing the catching. The oil will run down the cable\chain and you won't get any drips to make noise.
Mic system is working fine in my opinion. Keep up the awesome work! You're an inspiration to many and a symbol of the good left in humanity.

Your process improved at the new location. Seems you clean up coarse dirt from transmission housing you take out of a vehicle for the disassembly table. So cleaning the tranny parts at the parts washer is less laborious than at the old location where parts got mixed with sand and grit. Also seems you have a parts bucket for fasteners now rather than tossing them in the table, again cleaning in the parts washer gets faster.

    • @jraydelatorre
      @jraydelatorre ปีที่แล้ว

When it comes to purchasing the tools, it depends on what unit you’re building. It’s Transmission has individualized tools for each process and a lot of them you can find on Amazon if you know what you’re looking for and eBay at a fair price a lot of things you can also make sure it’s also a TH-cam channel called transmission bench, and that dude tells a lot about the tools that are designated to a specific unit with each video he makes he will also describe tools needed, and probably links on where to purchase

Fantastic to see you’re back! Just a tip/suggestion, as I see Richard is right handed so will be naturally placing tools off to the right and reaching etc which will naturally cut across shot and mean you’re having to back out the way. It might be worth seeing if you can get the angle from the other side like you used to as will be an easier and more open filming shot. Appreciate might be tricky with the wall etc. Really cool vids, love watching them.

    Hello,
The air Impact is simply way too loud. We turn up the volume to hear Richie talk. Then the impact is double the volume.
As watchers, some may do the same as me. When he picks up the impact, I dump the volume.
You really only have a few of choices.
    1) get some sort of Mic that picks up Richie's voice louder. (Problem is, the impact will still bleed through)
    2) quieter impact. Electric or some quieter one somehow.
    3) Try to EQ the frequency of the impact out of the final audio mix. This may help, but still won't solve the issue.
    EQ Settings:
Roll off 125hz and down. This lowers the banging around noise.
Roll off 800 -1K and above. This will remove a ton of the impact sound. The air impact spans nearly the entire spectrum though.
    4) lower the air pressure to the lowest amount that still works the impact. If you need more pressure, for a larger task, have a high-powered hose handy. You don't need 100 lbs air pressure for the majority of the bolts you are taking out. the drop in sound will be huge.
This has been an issue even on the old videos.
Only trying to provide some solutions.
Reach out to me on FB if you would like some more details about the EQ.
    Take Care.
    Don

FYI on the mic's: more gain is needed. I wouldn't be concerned about the impact wrench noise as the main reason to set the gain because that setting makes it difficult to hear your voices.
Glad to hear you are pleased with the Quincy compressor...its our favorite make as well, they run quiet and pump a lot of CFM at a low RPM. Nothing but quality, USA made I believe.

I’d suggest setting the gain for normal voice levels, not the air gun. The gun will cause clipping for sure, but when the gain is low I have to pin the volume up high to hear thru the speakers. So maybe a 5.5 or 6 then evaluate.
