Dear Richard and Teresa. Thank You for your continued dedication to sharing your knowledge skills and tips&tricks. The 1000's of people who you have helped in some way is incomprehensible. God Bless you and your family
Kinda remotely like those cans of spare fasteners we have in our garages. Can't buy that stuff. Only years or decades of accumulating spare hardware and pieces from disassembled and scrapped items fill those cans. I've got tall empty coffee cans with hardware dating back to the 1970's or earlier. Bolts, nuts, washers, etc. odd sizes.
Thank you Teresa for your camera work I’m sure it is hard to hold it for an hour that’s a lot. Thank you Richard I appreciate you for sharing your knowledge that you have been Blessed with. May y’all have a Blessed one.
You two are an awesomely fun and loving couple, I love the content, been down since you started. Keep it the same please and may gods bless you and your family.
I recently started watching the channel love it subscribed 5 weeks ago I was a transmission guy for a few years takes me back. You do it right keep up the good work.
Make sure you subscribe to their other channel called “Precision Transmission” too. They have a LOT of videos on that channel. They stopped on that channel for awhile but looks like they may start posting there again so keep an eye out there too.
Richard I want to thank you for all your tips and tricks on the 4L60E in my 2K GMC 2WD! Now the trans shifts the way it should and I like it! Trans -go SK kit, removed all the plastic pistons, shortened the 1-2 accumulator stroke, blocked the 3-4 accumulator, I didn't block the TCC valve, but I used the valve and spring in the S-K kit and it only moves maybe a 1/16 and it feels like a shift.Basically I followed the instructions but used most of your tips. Man it shifts nice! So Thanks a bunch back at ya!😁 Hi Miss Teresa! I also used Corvette servo parts and matched the springs for the accumulator in the valve body and installed the fiber check balls! The Trans only has 65K on it but I over serviced it and the pan was spotless ,just a small amount of gray matter on the magnet and the separator plate looked like new👍👍👍
Richard, I enjoy your videos but how about doing a question and answer session where we can discuss issues either before or after having the transmission rebuilt. Several people have mentioned issues with the 3-2 downshift on the 48RE after overhaul. I think this would increase your viewing. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Theresa, not sure what camera you use, but there might be mounts and other fixtures you can use to help support the camera better without going freehand and tiring out your arms and shoulders.
great videos!! But so complicated! Is it possible you can show or explain how the bands activate the shell and what implication it has when the planetary gears are stopped or the only gear that is not locked(sationary) and the inner or outer gears are not locked (able to spin freely around the planetary gears, what is the output effect it has on the output shaft?
I have the same truck with 205k miles that I'm starting to get some torque converter shudder, at least that's what I've been told it was. Can you explain what that means on the next 48re you do? It's all stock and the transmission has only been serviced by me. I'm sure I'm on borrowed time for sure.
I have an non dodge question lol. 4l80e when it goes into od it will slow the truck right down. Almost feels like it's putting a load on it or something. Any ideas???? Thank you
Hey Richard i see you do alot of rwd transmissions do you have any tricks for a 4t80e fwd transmission to make em hold any kinda of power or help keep em alive?
Hey Richard. I have a question. I had my aod transmission rebuilt. Now I have the overdrive light flashing on the shifter. I have replaced the speed sensor and the overdrive button. It's still flashing. Is it possible a solenoid in the tranny 99f150 4.6l. thanks dude
Selective smell and the ability to turn off noticing the smell. I used to work around jet fuel. Has a unique smell. I would have to intentionally smell to actually smell it and to take notice of it. Years later and I would have to intentionally smell something to smell it on purpose. Otherwise my nose is "off" by default. Like how women smell everything on purpose by default. Someone walks by and she says "that guy smelled bad; did you smell it"? Nope... why would I want to and why would I. Not going to smell it just to confirm what she smelt. Don't care.
@@rtz549 My smeller was burned out decades ago , but thank God I can still smell the sweet smell of orange blossoms , not a bad compromise if I say so my self.
Hey Richard and Teresa, I’ve got a quick question and I’m not sure if you’ll see this question or not but I’m curious, do you use WIT transmission parts or just Transtar parts? If I could get a shout back that would be awesome thx! Sincerely, one of your subscribers!🙂🙂🙂
Rich, what is going on with the channel names? I see an old vid off this channel of when you openend this new shop about a year ago just surface on your original "precision transmission" channel 24 hrs ago. Please advise what is happening. Is there someone scamming with your channels?
Guys please do a build video or something different. We love the videos but man there really aren't any problems in disassembly that you haven't explained to us over and over. I feel like you would get alot more views. I know it takes longer to build but some longer format videos will not hurt or some series videos. Thank you ❤
If you listen to his teardowns you get all the tips and tricks. You will still need to get ATSG for all the specs. And I think seeing the carnage is the best part.
Well, the channel is in the company name, and Richard is the CEO/owner of both involved companies, so not much his son can legally do, I think he just had jump the hoops with google to gain access again.
@@jimmyvaught what is the story with his son on the videos? I have not watched the newer videos and noticed when I started watching them, the son was not on them. I enjoy them either way.

The knowledge you possess is absolutely priceless!
Can't be bought or taught. Only years from doing gain that.

Love the 727 build that you did. I watched both video's. Hope you have more on 727's. Tips and Secrets. - Regards
God has a special seat saved just for Richard to fan the clutches
Richard your knowledge is really beyond anything I have ever seen, Thanks for sharing.

Was going to say similar, her camera work is on point as of late. Easy to watch, not jerky, just right 👍
Pay attention Dodge Boys. There's an 800 pound grenade in the house.

That's the biggest little coil spring I have ever seen. Did not know that existed in those transmissions.

The mad scientist at it again ,,,,so nice to watch a master !!!

Thanks You two for another great video.
Thanks for the lesson Richard!
Thought you would upgrade that dented table that leaves a puddle of atf everywhere 🤷♂️🤣🤣
He could probably shim the front of the table ever so slightly so the atf drains back.
Excellent presentation!
Great video!!

I wonder if when you do a tear down, 48re would be great, showcase all the upgrades you recommend to put into a 48 to make it better? Just wondering…

Unfortunately, in today's world, you need a book for everything...!
I haven't been back to Precision channel yet, but will soon . :)
You keep mentioning the 3M seal. Which product do you use?
looks like you guys got the old channel back? or are they simply reposting your vids from here?
What kind of 3m do you use on the seals?
I'm confused now, which channel is yours Richard? I'm seeing new videos on your old channel?

Hi there, I got a 88 Ford AOD and a 97 GM 4L80E that needs your attention... Can't get ahold of you guys....
I have an '01 Ram3500 4wd v10. I believe its supposed to have a 48re. How different is my 48re from a Cummins 48re?

You are going to have to run a computer Scan on it to see what the code is to find out why that light is flashing

My truck goes crazy when I shift to reverse with the drivers door open. Can I bypass this feature?

Wetsuits are advertised as being neoprene. Does anyone know what polymer those plastic check balls are made from?
Looked it up. Torlon. Not Teflon. Appears to be able to handle temps over 500 degrees.

No playin hookie....there's work to be done 😁

Well documented
Decided to part ways
