Roger ,first heard in about late 70s witth Dreamer , I'm now 83 and l still listen to Roger ,its a bit more classical now but l still remember those days ,of Dreamer and the people who were there enjoying his music What memories it evokes, thank you Roger for your music and the memories l will mever forget Supertramp
Roger one of the worlds best .....each song has an important message. From true reflection & experience . I was born in 67' He started in 69' I probably discovered him at age 9-10 have been a fan ever since . He took me across Canada and to the Carribean he's always been in my music when I travelled . A comforting voice of reason. Each time I travelled I let others hear him too. Priceless times .... I have caught him 3 times and sure would like to see him again if the Gods are willing to line up the Stars . I think of a John McCuchon song .. Been a longtime traveling. Here below been a long travelling away from my home .... May we always meet again till the last note fades away ...
La musique de Supertramp avec M, je ne connaissais pas....... mais je n'ai pas été déçue........... C'était parfait (je dois avouer être fan des 2) , merci les surprises de la vie !!!!!!!!
Almost had to hold in my tears watching this from amazement and respect. This song is my childhood I listened to it everyday during the summer nights my mom recorded this for me off a record player, I can't even describe how nostalgic this song is and I am so happy to see it finally getting the respect it truly deserves. Thank you Roger.
Dear Roger, I hope you will read that: Your Music, especially the "In the Eye of a Storm" saved my life, when I was down and completely alone. Truely. I saw you and your Band in Munich and it was the best Concert in my Life. If I would ever meet you, I truely would fall of my Knees and just sayin "Thank you!". The "In the Eye of a Storm" is one of the 3 Albums that I would take on an Island if I have only 3 to choose. And one of that would be "Symphony Nr. 9" from Beethoven.
... You Are A Wonderful Was-er And Is-er Mr.RogerHodgson ... Your Was-ing And Is-ing Is Eternally Present In Every Generation That Ever Was, Is Or Will Be ...
Mr. Roger Hodgson… May I call you SIR Roger Hodgson… You are a KNIGHT of Creativity and Music and for this I salute you! You have created in me a love of music in which I now share with the world! Not hiding in my shell!
Amazing!!! What a great performer... This is a very hard song to perform live and Roger absolutely nailed it!!! His voice is better now than it was 30 years ago... The MAN is ageless
I can relate so much to this song. I was born in 1963, one of the worst winters on record. In a sense I was born naked in the eye of storm. That is why this song means so much to me.
I am in debt with Roger. I will be always grateful. Almost every day i listen Rossie, Travelled or Have a dream, etc, and I FELL so much!! Thank you very much and sorry for my english from Spain
Amazing. I saw Supertramp several times in the 80's. It was always a superb show. I am seeing Mr. Hodgson tomorrow night and can hardly wait!!!!! Excited!
Damn!!! I remember seeing this one or two times on Mtv when it first came out and then it was gone for the last 35 years and I just now found it!!! SO GLAD I FOUND THIS MASTERPIECE AGAIN!!!
This song came out after he left Supertramp on his first Solo-album. Saw him on monday this week performing it with his great band here in Berlin and it was a highlight of the wonderful concert.
That was fun! Took me back to 1984 when I was 13 and listened to this on my Walkman. And here I am 39 years later sitting in my living room in Grass Valley and just learned this song was originally recorded in Nevada City (5 miles away from here). Thank you, Roger and wonderful band.
When I heard Supertramp for the first time , I was 11 ; I was watching T.V. very late , a saturday evening : the band was giving a concert , and I can't remember where ... I suddenly fell in love when Rodger sang "Fool's overture" ! Now I'm 43 , and I'm discovering "Had a dream" with a huge happiness ! Thank you very much for that
Hi Roger, I saw you with Supertramp on July 28th, 1979 in Ottawa! FANTASTIC concert. Love all of your music, but my favourites, in order are "Fool's Overture" - "Crime of the Century" - "School". You led with "School" and finished with "Fools Overture" and encored with "Crime of the Century". WOW!!! I was 22 at the time, now I'm 57 and I'm going to see you on Dec. 8th, 2015 back here in Ottawa, finally!!! Can't wait. Your music transcends generations!!!!
Thats got to be hard to play live with so many chord & music changes. Amazing playing to a truly amazing song with so much relativity to today! A gem!!
This is an amazing song and I remember it getting a lot MTV attention when i was in high school. Interesting thing is, I also recall RH getting run through the wringer for leaving Supertramp, being selfish, trying to be something he's not going solo etc. I liked this song when it came out but I love it now! The video was textbook classic 80s and the song itself is brilliant! This was a much happier and far more creative time in music!🤘
I can see there's 2 people that are either completely tone deaf or just plain hate life. How can you possible give this song a thumbs down. WoW!! Must be Justin Queer fans.......
He knew what his dream was of the cosmic universe...the truth about life...this man was and is the most talented artist we will ever come by today in 2023
Classic Roger. Thanks. having been privileged to be involved in various SUPERTRAMP and so many bands and their Rock Shows as a Personal Body Guard/Close Protection Specialist and one of my fav's was Super Tramp in Kitchener, Waterloo. Ontario., I can say that if and when we discussed their songs, their answers would ALWAYS be, "we wrote it with one purpose, and so many times, ours listeners will interpret it in many other way's, that's what makes song writing so fulfilling". So ROCK ON and Here is to years more of recovery. God Bless. Giving Thanks from Canada to the World. AMEN.
