I am so very impressed, just what I needed, something more to make me feel inferior! I love my new 520, and am really quite well adjusted. Seriously, great job man!
Ha! Thanks a bunch for the comment Roger! I’m quite sure if you are a person who takes the time to compliment others you are definitely not an inferior person! I had a good time with this bed build and a great time doing the speed gear set. These pioneers are neat little machines that’s for sure!
You know at this point I really think Honda does that for legal reasons and so they can also sell their "Bigger and Better" models. Just to let folks know about the weights though the factory rack and fenders is about 37 lbs. This bed completed was 62lbs and the gate (I far overbuilt) was 31lbs so there is about 50-60lbs more weight in this setup over the rack but that rack rides way up high on top of the fenders so anything you load up is UP there. The bed mounts much closer to the frame so your load has been lowered. In addition most people put a heavy steel basket on top of that factory rack. Thats not only getting you closer to this weight but also its a steel basket riding way up high. The only thing I can find wrong with the mod is how much time I spent doing it! LOL Thanks for the comment, it really was a good one!
Thanks! I have been so busy with other things that I have not been able to do much with the channel. I am hoping to get the time to do a break down one day of a step by step of this build but until then I hope you enjoy the content and I appreciate you reaching out! A simple “that is awesome” helps me convince myself to get back to putting time into making videos! 👍👍
Old vids, but have you, or do you know of anyone that has "fixed" the auto downshift on the 500? Many of us want to get rid of the auto shift on manual mode, and make it truly manual shift.
Yea, I’m sorry I have not put up anything in a bit. I was having a great time doing powersport videos but they take so much time to edit and put together! Life gets so hectic finding free time for FDR is hard. I’m trying to set up a goal to get back into the makeshift studio. When I get comments from folks it reminds me that I’m actually helping someone so I really do appreciate the comment! I have heard a bit about the downshift thing but I have not really looked into it. I’m sorry I don’t have a good answer for ya. Hope you have a great Holiday Season. 👍
Hey thanks for the comment. It’s really a lot of work to do a good video on “how to” and I just did not have the time to do all the editing for this one. I thought this would give others some helpful ideas on building one for themselves though. Shoot, even just taking pictures and documenting all the steps and things before then putting this video together took quite a bit of time. In case you did not know, this is a free video. I don’t make a single penny from any of this. I’m just trying to do my part in sharing the little I know. 👍
Thanks! I don’t sell them I just thought I’d made a short vid to give sone ideas to those thinking about building one and show that you can build a great piece without having $10000 of metal working equipment. 👍 Thanks for the compliment!

Definitely a lot nicer than what Honda offers! The weight would be the only thing concerning as the tail is only rated for 450 lbs.

Nice job
Thanks! It was a fun project.
That is awesome! Definitely would be interested in seeing a video on how you did it!

Bro! That is an amazing job!!!

Where did you get the side pioneer panels and the tailgate
The tailgate I built and the panels themselves are old Big Red bedsides. I had custom decals made for them but other than that it’s how they come.
Nice. I was gonna build one today for ours but after seeing this I’m gonna pause and see about doing something similar. Where are the bed sides from?
They are from a Honda Big Red 700. You can get a used set on eBay and not break the bank! They are very durable and lightweight.
Incredible.!
Would have preferred some "how to" dialog instead of Hill Billy Rap.

Wow is absolutely amazing so professional looks from the dealer. Are you selling those for the Honda Pioneer 500’s?

@@Freedonkeyrides is amazing what you do. You would make a bank selling this for the honda pioneer 500’s owners and for 4 wheelers. Absolutely amazing
