Picked up this new Daiwa Reel after it was at Icast. It is extremely affordable and still carries the Daiwa name. The CC80 #Fishing #Reel #unboxing Follow Me / phantomfishing
Bought one of these reels to put on a spare rod. Started using the combo during bass tournaments with a spinnerbait. Works great. Hauled in a huge Northern Pike too. Handles all sizes of fish. Casts really far and smooth.
i ordered this reel while i was at my mom and dads in montana for a month because i wasnt able to take my gear with me and wasnt going to spend alot of money on more equip and i like it so much that i still use it quite often .
nice video, but just want to say that it's a carbon composite frame and side plate, essentially a carbon/graphite material with carbon fiber strands for reinforcement. you typically only see complete carbon fiber components like handles, drag washers, and the occasional drag star.
Looks like a great reel I hope to pick one up soon to try. As for the drag In my opinion there isn’t one single instance where you’ll need any where close to 15 lbs of drag for bass fishing and most other fresh water species. I think it’s all marketing when companies advertise these huge amounts of drag.
I'm pretty sure there isn't any carbon fiber in a $59 reel, it's probably graphite. A 2lb bass can easily put 10-15 lbs of pressure when surging. If that 2# bass swims into a brush pile or weed bed you'll need more than 15# drag to pull it out.
Correct. I even practiced saying carbon graphite and then didn’t realize I said it until I had uploaded it. I’m not going to be using a real like this punching mats or flipping buck brush. Thanks for watching!
Dude I had this in my hand today at Academy walking to check out. I put it back because I wasn’t sure. After peeping this vid I think I’m going to go back and snag it. 🤙 great video.
Thanks for the review. I am always curious about those low price point reels. I have a KastKing in that category Im pretty pleased with all things considered.
Carbon composite is not carbon fiber, they are not even close. The cc in cc80 stands for carbon composite, it's basically like fancy graphite, it's not bad, but it's not carbon fiber
Thinking of pairing this up with my 3' Daiwa Triforce for creek smallies & picks'n'pikes. Also, people muskie/snook/red fish with reels that only have like 10 pounds of drag, so that's something to consider.
Looks great as a beginner casting reel. Andy months ago you did a Daiwa Tatula LT SS 3000-CXH unboxing. Got one after I saw your video! Thanks been hammering large smallies on it. Replaced tea Handle with straight one from Japan tackle. How do you like yours? Did I miss the review update? Great video as usual!!
Affordable because its not even made by Daiwa but Doyo, a Korean company. So when you compare this $60 Korean reel to other Chinese/korean $60 reels, its not exactly affordable, but more like the average price. Would i still take it over a Black/Silver Max? Sure. But if i were someone who's looking to buy a new reel, i would save up more money and buy a proper reel, not these "carbon fiber" plastic garbage that sound like maracas while under load.

Tricks And Coasters it really depends on what you are using it for. I typically use fluorocarbon for most things especially bottom contact baits. I use mono for topwater because it floats. Braid floats also but I will usually only use it for thick cover. I have started using a braid to fluoro leader instead of all braid or all fluoro. If you do spool with braid you need to use a backer on your spool such as electrical tape or something similar or the braid can slip on the spool.
great video sick reel I am going to check it out. and only 65 more subscribers please send me the reel love the videos and the channel is getting better and better every video.
I love them I own 5 . And the combos. Never had a problem in and conditions

I switched to this from an abu Garcia black max 3 and I will NEVER go back this reel is 100% far superior then any other bait caster I’ve ever used
Nice to see Daiwa get into the budget side of reels
Daiwa hits another one out of the park!

yeah and i totally looked it up before i filmed it and still said it haha. oh well

How do you feel about the 11-12lb drag on some of Shimano's higher prices reels?
I wasn't aware Daiwa put this out, thanks, gonna have to look into one.

My only real concern would be the drag. Really would like to see how it holds up.
Thanks for the review. I am always curious about those low price point reels. I have a KastKing in that category Im pretty pleased with all things considered.
I have it my friends have it I like it better than my lews but only for the nice carbon fiber wrap on the combo
Brannon Brown salt or fresh water fishing?

I would like to see how this casts light lures.
Looks nice
Love my Tatula SV.
Great review
Is her pitch good? Does it throw light baits between 6 and 8g?
Pretty good price for what you get.
Just get a Fuego CT for the same price aluminum frame.
The price of the CT is literally twice the price now. This reel is now 40. 80 for the fuego.
Looks like another Doyo. It's gotta be.

Do you reccomend putting mono or braid on it?
