Great review brother. Been trying to watch all your videos. You've got a bunch. I put a little Bluetooth speaker in my loader. I crush cars and watch your stuff at the same time
The wife got me the fuego CT for Xmas. I had found it for $63 on amazon so she bought it. It's my favorite to use after a few trips. Not my farthest caster but my most enjoyable. I agree with the graphite. My casitas started grinding so to speak after a few big hooksets on larger fish. 3 4 lbrs. Good video. You always seem to have the same tastes as me. Lol
I realize this videos a year old but I actually just purchased two of the left-handed models and when you can get them for $60-$67 each there is no reason that you shouldn't. Granted back when I was heavy into Tournament Fishing I owned nothing but the old green Corrado's back in the 90s and then I got a great package deal on a half a dozen high-end revos that were less than a year old. Both reels we're work horses for years. Now that I'm older and I don't do the tournament scene anymore but I still like to have a half a dozen different setups there is no reason to go out and spend $175 on one reel when you can almost get three for the same price. I was actually going to switch to the Lew's LFS this year but once I checked out the CG 80s I decided against it because I already had 4 of the CR series. I also just recently picked up a CA 80 XSL because I wanted the 8.3 to 1 ratio. Although I am disappointed that this particular reel only has 11 lbs of drag!!
I usually buy from tackle Warehouse or sportsmans outfitters. I have done videos like that. Some combo vids and more lure specific vids. Check them out and let me know what you think. Have a good week man!
Great timing with the video, I just ordered a Fuego a couple days ago. Unfortunately my lakes are just about frozen right now here in Massachusetts so it won’t get much use right away when it comes in so I’m looking forward to that review! Great review on the CG80 too!
I had a CC80 for about 10 months. I really enjoyed how it felt but it definitely started to feel worn out by the end. I replaced that with another CC80 through a protection plan from Dicks and had it for about two weeks before it blew out of the back of my truck on the turnpike. Now I am trying to decide if I am going to replace that with the CR80 (I can get it for $45) or the Fuego CT (which I can get for about $65). I really liked how the C series felt in my hand, but I would also have more peace of mind with the longevity of the aluminum frame/body that comes with the Fuego. What should I do?
If u watch "The Reel Test" n his reviews on the CG80, he explains that the factory that manufacture that reel also makes the Lews LFS. That's why they're so similar.
Yea, I was trying to subtly drop that. I didn't want to go into that in the video because I wanted it to be just the product info and my experience. I feel like people say well that reel is made in China so it's not good. I've had that speed spool for...well...more to come in the next vid. Lol. Thanks for watching man!
Very helpful review it's not a bad looking reel but not sure i would buy 1 I've always liked Lews reels got a reel question would a 6.3:1 gear ratio work for texas rigs
Any gear ratio will work for a Texas rig. You'll just have to reel more to make more pitches. Additionally, you could get in situations where it's hard to pick up line if a fish comes at you or into brush. But if that is all you have, ROCK IT!
Great review! I’m interested in the lower price models but I just can’t see any reason to choose this reel over the Lews or the other one, primarily because the graphite v aluminum construction. Am I missing something? That being said, I have very little experience with bait casting rigs, and I’m looking for the best reel around $100. I just bought a FibLink 7.6 MH with fast action, so it needs a reel! I’m learning a ton from these videos, about technique and how it works with tackle. Your videos are pretty much the best I’ve seen in a lot of ways. Keep up the good work!
Hey. Great Video, review and commentary. If you still have the reels or the info, I have a question. Can you tell me what the weight of the spool is for the CG80 and the Fuego? I fish inshore saltwater, have the Lew's Speed Spool LFS Inshore, and have used it for two years. Great reel. The LFS Inshore is like the LFS but better drainage and slightly more drag. I'm considering a new baitcaster that could be used in Saltwater with a four piece travel rod. I can still get the LFS Inshore, tho they have been discontinued, but I would like to look for an alternate reel that would be better with ultralight baits like flukes and small, light bonefish style jigs. So, specifically, my LFS Inshore (fully spooled with 30# Power Pro) weighs 26 grams. Not sure if I want a carbon/resin model, but would be interested in knowing the weight of their spools. Thanks. And thanks for a great informative video!
Hey man, thanks for watching. I would not use this as a saltwater reel. As harsh as that stuff is I would definitely go to a baitcaster that is specifically made for the salt. The Lew's inshore is still available on tackle Warehouse. I know daiwa has a coastal reel that is built for salt too. Those are both around $200 dollars.
As an update, I might have a line on a Shimano Citica I. It has a bare spool weight of 16.5g and I despooled the Lew's LFS Inshore and it's bare spool is 20g. The Citica might be a good option for Flukes and Paddletails. If you can recommend any others specific to that application, I'll take any recommendations. Thanks!
And yes, I can pretty easily get the LFS Inshore again. They seemed to have pulled them when Lew's added the Custom Inshore reel as it's replacement, but now you can find them here and there. The Custom Inshore is a sweet reel too, but seems to be headed in the opposite direction toward the Daiwa Lexa that a smaller reel for really light baits.
@@BillDeWeese if you're wondering about the spool and casting I would check out the reel tests channel. My buddy told me about him a few weeks ago and he has EXCELLENT content. He goes over the spool weight and does a lot of casting tests!
I have the Tatula, speed spool and CC80. For the money the CC 80 is a great reel. Smooth and reliable (so far). I like the Tatula best over all but that’s a 129-149 reel. I don’t like the tiny drag wheel on the Tatula especially when flipping docs. That is the only draw back. I have also been using the speed spool carbon fire for 2 years. I’ve had great performance out of it for a 70 dollar reel. The reason I am bought the CC is because of the similarities to the speed spool. I’ll bet they are both made in the same factory in China. I’ll let you know how it performs over the next couple months. BTW Good video. 👍🏻
Thanks a lot for watching man. I'd definitely like to try some more of the daiwa reels (tatulas and such). I've had an old speed spool for 3+ years and it has NEVER let me down. I think there are a lot of similarities! Have a good week man!
Just curious, I picked up a used CG80 in a horsetrading deal, it's in good shape and spins/reels smoothly. I'm a big Daiwa guy, and the Fuego CT is my go-to - I think I have 8 of them. I can't find a teardown/owners manual for this reel, but the brake dial on this one acts weird. It starts off pointed to "Free" and as you get it clicked around toward "Max" , at about the 5/8ths mark on the dial, there is an audible click, and if you do it with the side plate off, it is the magnet plate, dropping back down about half of the distance it just traveled inward. After this click, you can't dial back toward "free". You can continue toward "max" another 6-7 clicks and the magnets do continue moving outward - toward the spool, and then you hit the end of the clicks. You can't make the dial go backwards toward free at all. Once you hit "Max" then your only option is to continue past "Max" and when you get to "free" everything resets. I've been inside lots of reels, and tearing this one down, everything looks correct, and properly aligned. No broken parts. Surely this isn't proper operation for this reel. Any ideas?
I have owned the cc80 for 3months I fish everyday. The reel is still solid and smooth ***update*** 7 months later the real started making noise and had to be cleaned and lubed. And the real is not as smooth as it was before. But still holding up fishing daily. **update** 3 years later, only cleaned twice in three years this reel is a real dandy for the price. The reel feels the same as the 7 month update and holds up to daily fishing still. I still using it. The decals have wore off but the reel is worth it
I bought the CR80 for $59.99. And was gonna sent it back and get a Fuego instead since I can find them for about $15 more. Glad you updated your opinion thank you!
I saw it was marked down on tackle Warehouse. If you're using it for lighter treble hooks type lures, yeah. It has held up well but it's all graphite. If you're not using it for heavy jigs, texas rigs, frogs, it will last a lot longer! I feel $59 is a fair price on it.
Thanks! After rewatching your review, I think I would have the same issues that you did. Went with the Lew's Tournament MB Speed Spool that was on sale
It’s not a bad reel but in my opinion as an angler and as a tackle shop owner, you’d be wise to spend a bit more and get one of the new Tatula 100H reels. I would like it if Daiwa came out with a CR80 with a twitchin’ bar like on the Megaforce reel. I have one of those and use it when throwing soft plastics. The Fuego is totally a solid reel too. Pretty much everything from Daiwa over $50 is going to be a worthwhile piece of equipment. Great video bud
Thanks for that feedback man. Appreciate tackle shop owners adding insight! You guys see all kinds of gear come and go. I would love to try more of the tatula reels. My 9ld man has a couple and he loves them. Have a good weekend man!
Anytime dude. You are right, I get to see all sorts of good... and bad stuff. Lots of companies from Rapala to Lew’s came out with amazing products in 2018. Daiwas new 2018/2019 lineup is unbeatable IMO. now I’m in countdown mode for Icast 2019 and can’t wait to see what they’re coming out with next!
I almost picked up a CG80 one up but instead went for the Fuego CT. It's become my new favorite reel! Nice review. You can find new Fuego's on Amazon & Ebay for $80
Great review! The CG80 is a solid reel for 100$. I primarily use it for flipping and pitching smallmouth but last summer I landed a 15 lb northern on it when I was in Canada. No disappointments.
I have the Spartacus plus and loving it, it's been like a year now and im getting better at casting but as soon as I get really good i will buy the Fuego CT
I have the $80 version and I love it!! I like it more than my tatula. I use it on my medium power rod throwing crankbaits and such. I was very surprised how much I like this reel. I never used it in heavier stuff, it didn't seem like it would be good for that, for some reason. I'm glad you pointed this reel out because it's a great deal! Thanks for the awesome video!
Looking at getting a specific reel for froggin. Features/specs to look for besides high gear ratio? Also maybe a video series idea: reel specific applications, just a thought. Nice review.
I definitely look for an aluminum framed reel. Some guys also only want an aluminum handle sideplate to prevent reel torque that leads to that grindy sound and uneven retrieve. But I've been happy with aluminum and at least a 7.0:1 gear ratio.
Hey Debo, I love your videos. You are currently my go to TH-camr for techniques and gear review. On that note, what are your thoughts on The Drop shot. This is one technique I want to start using during the cold season. Wooo!
Awesome man, I really appreciate you watching! Hahah funny you should bring that up. I talked about that in my best lures from 2018 vid. The dropshot is one of my least confident rigs. Stay with me in 2019, it's a rig I want to conquer!
@@DEBOSFishing Haha, well if I would of watched that video , I wouldn't have asked you that question. No worries, I was just curious because I have yet to see that in your videos that I have watched. Your the man Debo. Wooo!
With that reel being that similar to the Lew's, I think along with a longevity comparison, a comparison of customer service might be something to consider, if ever needed. I own a couple of Lew's, the Speed Spool LFS, and the Tournament Speed Spool SLP, and really like them both. The SLP had a factory issue in that the side plate has been known to pop off, mine almost did once, Lew's knew about this, and shipped me an updated plate no charge. Might be interesting to see if Daiwa does anything about that trim piece that's coming loose.
Yea, I've been happy with all of the Lew's reels that I've used and had. You're right because if you have to call a company and get bad service, it completely ruins your view of that company. Even though it just may have been one or two people who work there, they are the face of the company. Great point!
I have the cc80 and I love it for the money I thought my son and wife how the throw a baitcaster with it and the both cought there PB using it I have had it a few months and it is the best reel I own now mind you I'm pure and cant aford high end reels this one is really good for the price to me
I don't know about the cc80's ability to cast light lures. I will definitely be giving my thoughts on all the reels compared in a video at the end! Thanks for watching man!
i personally own the CR80 and i have it on a aird X rod and the rod feels like a 100$ rod but the reel after a few months of use has a grindy noise coming from the gears not big though and aside from that there is nothing rod with it i have caught fish after fish and can say this reel is well worth the 80$ price tag and punches higher then that in my opinion its not as nice as my Gen 2 Abu Revo STX but the construction on STX the handle wiggles sence day one and this one has not made any exterior noices and im quite happy with the purchase. Sorry for any miss spellings.
I got the cc80 and I'm not gonna lie it's a pretty good reel. I did wish the spool was a bit bigger tho. I've taken it a part and re lubricated everything I needed to after about 3 months of constant fishing and it's still the same as it was when I got it.
Okay, DEBO, I'm not sure about these reels but I have a suggestion for you. Would you consider doing a series of reviews on sub $100 spinning reels. I know that you've done a few in the past, but, to be honest, I am wondering what you think of the Diawa Legalis LT which I have ordered in the 2500D-XH. I know that you'll give an objective review. I look forward to it.
Hey man! I only have a couple spinning reels. I definitely need to try more because finesse can be deadly. I'm honestly sometimes too stubborn to put the baitcaster down lol. My buddies who let me borrow reels aren't big on spinning. I'll keep my eyes out though! Thanks for watching!
I guess I'm into spinning reels because my experience, from the get go, has been with spinning reels. My go-to line test was 8-lb.. This was back in the 1960s and 1970s. I like baitcasters and I do have some experience with them but I see a place for spinning outfits in my arsenal.
@@dennisnicholson952 absolutely, I think every angler needs a couple in their arsenal. I go in spurts where I fish a lot of finesse then not so much. Next year I'm focusing on the drop shot so I'll definitely have a spinning rig in my hand a lot!
Hey Debo....good informative video! It showed up in my feed since I've been watching vids for the Tatula 100 which I bought and is an excellent reel for the street price.
Awesome video Debo ! I’ve been actually thinking about getting the cheapest one of those Daiwas for a travel/pond hopping reel something that can beat around and my feeling won’t be hurt if it breaks for some odd reason lol
Sweswio I'll definitely agree to that and dont get me wrong I'm an equal opportunity player when it comes to budget fishing but I am very impressed with my cc80
I'd grab a Tatula Ct or Tatula CT type R over that reel. Last night I saw some aftermarket light shallow finesse spools for that fuego reel. The frame really looks like a Tatula, without the TWS . With those aftermarket spools, you can turn the reel into a BFS reel for real cheap.
O yeah, download the AliExpress app and get them really cheap and good quality, and the lures are not bad at all, those Chinese are getting better really quick
Great vid man! You are spectacular on the mic! Wishing you massive growth in 2019! At 99$ look at the daiwa BG a spinning reel....and how that platform has 250$ variants...then look at this OEM made plastic baitcasting reel for the same price....then wait a few weeks for when that same 99$ daiwa bg jumps up to 120$ and see where this reels price goes.......And look at all the JDM daiwa's being sold stateside......They're being sold stateside because they didn't sell in japan.....(from the horses mouth) So these OEM reels in my eyes are $ margin reels. Daiwa offered OEM reels in the past....but nothing i recall in the modern mainstream
Thank you very much for watching sir! My buddy told me about your channel a few months ago. Much respect for you. You tell it like it is and give great tackle reviews to the public. I understand what you mean about the $ margin reels and JDM selling. I often wonder if it's like the theater popcorn marketing. Theatres never intend to sell small or medium. The price is all based on the large size for profit. If you order a medium, they will upsell for $1 more to a large and there is a distinct size difference. Of course I'll buy the large. Wonder if these are a way to promote the fuego or potential new reel slightly over $100? Interesting to think about.
@@DEBOSFishing Thanks man! And take it on the chin at times as well lol....the second that reel was announced I reached out to daiwa for comment...(I found out about awhile back...I leaked Daiwas entire Icast lineup rods reels accessories about a month ahead of Icast..lol..) this was the reply I received. And to me....that was the wrong answer. One way to look at it. They being Globaride......can have another manufacturer build daiwa quality for less. OUCH!!!! Hi Nick, We have had reels in the past that we have designed and engineered ourselves, but did not manufacture in order to hit a price point. The 80’s (CR, CG, CC) fall into this category. These reels were designed and engineered by Daiwa, but were not manufactured by us to allow us to offer a quality reel and still keep it at a reasonable price point.
@@TackleAdvisors I like that you give that into. I see both sides. Makes sense from a business standpoint. At the same time, you want that "built in house" quality when you see their symbol. I don't know how strict the quality/oversight is when a reel is outsourced. I feel like it also depends on the company's service. If they hold a high standard of quality for what the product is AND take care of anyone who has an issue, I feel better about it. A company like Lew's has their reels manufactured by Doyo I believe. I've had great luck with their reels. I've heard their customer service is top notch (never personally had to deal with them). I see this a lot in my day job and understand the importance of a company following their word and taking care of the consumer. Great getting the opportunity to talk to you. Binged on your vids but didn't want to comment as a small TH-camr.
Great vid. Not sure if you saw or even care for them, but Academy and Tackle Warehouse both had the Revo ALX down to around $130-140 from like $200+. Looks like a really good Abu for that clearance price.
You're right about the graphite. It's really dependent on the quality. Some has more of a plasticy feel, where others feel more sense. The denser ones I've never personally had any issues with. Aluminum frame is nice for sure and even having all metal, like with the ProTi and my higher Shimano's, can help with larger options, they are still usually not gonna let you down with bass.
@@bassnazi4713 yea, I do have a buddy that let me borrow the ALX. Nothing special about it but it feels really good. He got it for just over $100 so heck of a steal. Feels very sturdy yet small!
@@kellyherrington2428 they are both great deals for those prices. I don't own the Revo, yet, but will probably pick up at least one while they are still that low. I had picked up the Mach Crush last year, and the ProTi this year, so really don't need it, but will be a solid addition for anyone.
I have a cc80 and have used a friends cg80 and for me the cc80 was matching casting distance within a few feet and actually felt lighter on hand than the cg80 as for drag performance specs say the same but the cg 80 was almost locked down or nothing the cc80 is definitely not that way it seems to be more sensitive at every step in the drag both feel good but my feugo and carbonlite 2.0 are my best reels currently sorry my punctuation is non existent
I’m liking these reel reviews. After many years the fishing bug bit me hard again. Most of my gear is from the mid/late 90’s. Just went and bought a Black Max combo recently. I’d like to see some head to head with the fuego, SLX, and some 13 fishing reels near the same price point like the TX, and the white one (whatever it’s called)
I had a black max a long time ago. They are not the smoothest reel around but they keep on kicking and do what they need to do! Thanks for watching my friend!
The daiwa cc80 would be an option if you're looking for something cheaper. It's in the same line but weighs a tad more and has a couple fewer bearings.
Oh man I’m still using reels from the 90’s. I’ve got a Quantum Iron reel from 1994 that is beat to heck. Probably should update or at least rebuild the thing. My kids laugh at me when I take it out.
So I almost bought the CR80, but found a Fuego CT 7.3.1 for $60 and couldn’t pass it up. Amazon is another great place to look for deals, because I found my Daiwa Tatula CT for $111 on there
I see they also have a CA80 A=aluminum frame. It's the same price as this graphite frame model.... Weird. Edit/Update. I just seen that this reel is no longer listed in Daiwa's website. Guess they listened and replaced this reel with the newer CA80 model. Pretty cool of them.
7:5.1 and 6:8.1??? That’s odd for Daiwa, those are common gear ratios for Lew’s reels and Daiwa has never had those gear ratios before. Odd. I’m going to stick to my Fuego, love that reel.
With the daiwa cg80 it is outsourced. Normally daiwa makes every reel in house but these are made by the same company that makes the lews reels the abu Garcia reels the 13 fishing reels. Shimano and daiwa are only to that make every reel in house.
hArRiSoN ç I really don’t want daiwa to switch to doyo. Daiwa makes such good reels already and have multiple of their own factorys. Though, aren’t 13fishing made by banax? I think 13fishing also have their unique designs. But I really hope daiwa will make all their reels in their factorys, not doyo’s factorys!
hArRiSoN ç I have a daiwa prorex (pretty much a tatula) and I really like it. I’m more a fanboy of shimano reels but daiwa reels made in daiwa factorys are such good reels. My prorex 200hla casts pretty much as far as my shimano tranx 301 and it costs half the price!
Just call customer service of the company that manufactures the reel. They are usually very helpful in getting you a replacement part. Thanks for watching man!
Thanks man! I haven't used the inception. I own the fuego and think it may be one of the best $70ish dollar reels on the market. You can find it on sale a lot, it has a solid breaking system, and it has an aluminum frame!
Speaking purely on cosmetics, the Lews LFS and Shimano SLX look far and wide much classier than the CG80. The weird red color with the fake chrome makes it look like a Shakespeare I'd pick up from walmart for $25. Diawa makes some great gear, but this one is a no from me, dawg.
I agree, I don't like the color or accents on it. I've been pleasantly surprised with how the reel has performed though. I just don't think it should be a $100 reel. I've had zero issues with it though? I'd definitely like to try some more Daiwa reels.
It has stood up so far and has surprised me. I agree though, you can get the fuego for $80 now and it has an aluminum frame. Ton of options at $100. Thanks for watching man!
I've had a few people suggest that reel. I've never used those. Borrowed my old mans smoke and it feels good except for one small part. May do a review on that later. Thanks for watching!
Just a suggestion brother. I really don't use anything but but quantum however I do watch all your reviews because I know their honest and not biased. And produce great content so keep that up buddy much appreciated either way from me and smokes are not beatable for the price own 3. ( Thanks for the response shows you really care about subscribers)
@@randalljessee5443 I loved the smoke...there is just one tiny thing about it that bothers me. I'd definitely keep an open mind and try other reels of theirs! Of course I'm going to reply. Without viewers, my channel has no use. People like you are why I do it man 👊
Do people not understand that not all baitcaster reels are the same. Some are for casting some for power winching, some for speed, some for finesse, some for casting heavy. this is why you will see more than one reels at same price point.
This is true. Some are better for specific tasks. But if you only have money for one, that's all you need to go out and have fun. Thanks for watching man!
upstate NY basser 10586 i think this one is:/! The tatulas, the steezes and almost all their other reels are made in daiwas factory. They make their own reels but this one is probably made by doyo. Why though:/?
upstate NY basser 10586 yeah. My guess is that daiwa made this deal with doyo to make them this reel so that they could compete with the palming size and the pricepoint of the shimano SLX. So this is a reel made for younger people. But the fuego is so much better qualitywise. I would never recommend this doyowa over the real daiwa. The Fuego is just so much better. In the future I hope to see daiwa making ALL their reels in THEIR OWN factorys.
Bro! You nailed it! But all those dinks take a toll. It's like getting 10,000 thorns in your leg vs getting bit by a rattlesnake ...neither one is good and both are going to leave a mark hahahah👊
Yeah its great reel but had a play move on the gear ⚙️ or may be the drag im not sure but have a play moving up and down haha 😆 but im sure from the drive shaft that is disappointing me
It's just a piece of trim and didn't affect the reel at all. I personally think it would have been better left off and just made the frame a different color. I'm just going by my experience with the reel and it has surprised me.
Great review brother. Been trying to watch all your videos. You've got a bunch. I put a little Bluetooth speaker in my loader. I crush cars and watch your stuff at the same time

Perfect. Yes that fellas channel is where I learned of the Citica I. Thanks again!
I bought the cr80 not to long ago and I’m very pleased. Great reel for the money
It has been a good reel so far. I'd really like to try the $59 version!
Any ideas?
No, that is definitely not standard operating for the reel. Sounds like the clicking/ramp mechanism is busted 🙁
I have owned the cc80 for 3months I fish everyday. The reel is still solid and smooth
***update*** 7 months later the real started making noise and had to be cleaned and lubed. And the real is not as smooth as it was before. But still holding up fishing daily.
**update** 3 years later, only cleaned twice in three years this reel is a real dandy for the price. The reel feels the same as the 7 month update and holds up to daily fishing still. I still using it. The decals have wore off but the reel is worth it
That's good feedback man. Yea, it has surprised me!
Awesome! Good to hear some feedback. I wonder how much of that is attributed to the graphite frame? Thanks for providing an update!
I bought the CR80 for $59.99. And was gonna sent it back and get a Fuego instead since I can find them for about $15 more. Glad you updated your opinion thank you!
Update??? After 3 years?
@@christopherbuckel9180 update posted above
Just bought a CC80, nice reel for the price. My only complaint is that there are no markings between "free" and "max" on the brake adjustment.
may i know something? is it affordable if im buying this cg80. does the reel smooth for long cast?
How has the CG80 held up? Worth picking up at $59?
I saw it was marked down on tackle Warehouse. If you're using it for lighter treble hooks type lures, yeah. It has held up well but it's all graphite. If you're not using it for heavy jigs, texas rigs, frogs, it will last a lot longer! I feel $59 is a fair price on it.
Thanks! After rewatching your review, I think I would have the same issues that you did. Went with the Lew's Tournament MB Speed Spool that was on sale
@@TommyGilligan_Bunny I've heard a lot of good stuff about that reel! Let me know how you like it!
@@HeavilyArmed heck yea, it will be fun! I'm definitely looking to add some more Daiwa gear to my lineup. 👊
Thanks for the review!! It helps out us lower budget guys who can’t afford reels over 100 and make a better decision.
You're very welcome. There are a lot of good reels at the $100 price point!
I almost picked up a CG80 one up but instead went for the Fuego CT. It's become my new favorite reel! Nice review. You can find new Fuego's on Amazon & Ebay for $80
Yea, I have seen a lot if sales for the Fuego? Guess because it's older? I agree, it is a solid little reel. Thanks for watching man!
Great review! The CG80 is a solid reel for 100$. I primarily use it for flipping and pitching smallmouth but last summer I landed a 15 lb northern on it when I was in Canada. No disappointments.
Any opinion on the kastking reels? I have 2 and very pleased
I have the Spartacus plus and loving it, it's been like a year now and im getting better at casting but as soon as I get really good i will buy the Fuego CT
Yea, I've used their reels. Still have them in rotation. Hope to see them keep releasing some cool stuff. Thanks for watching!
Just realized how old this video is Haha 🤣
Looking at getting a specific reel for froggin. Features/specs to look for besides high gear ratio? Also maybe a video series idea: reel specific applications, just a thought. Nice review.
I definitely look for an aluminum framed reel. Some guys also only want an aluminum handle sideplate to prevent reel torque that leads to that grindy sound and uneven retrieve. But I've been happy with aluminum and at least a 7.0:1 gear ratio.
Debo great review love the videos man. Would or have you already done a review on the Abu Garcia revo x also a 99$ reel. That would be great
Thanks man, appreciate you watching 👊 Yes, the revo X vid will be coming soon. Wanted to put some more time in with it.
Does her magnetic brake work well? Carry light baits with 6 or 7g?
I've thrown little 1/4oz cranks on it fine. I don't go really light though. I just use a spinning reel. Thanks for watching!
Wooo!
@@John-ho2ks sorry, didn't mean it that way. It was just funny that I was just thinking about it. Appreciate you watching my friend 👊
Debo I was just wondering if you have any info on the diawa ca80
I have the cc80 and I love it for the money I thought my son and wife how the throw a baitcaster with it and the both cought there PB using it I have had it a few months and it is the best reel I own now mind you I'm pure and cant aford high end reels this one is really good for the price to me
Yea, that reel seems like a sleeper! Don't need expensive gear to go out a nod have fun! Thanks for watching man!
someone mention the cc80 might be good for casting lighter lures. hope you’ll test one in the future. what is your opinion of the cg80 vs SLX?
Get it the cc80 is a tough bastard

Yea, they seem to have good sales. Same for the fuego, can usually find good deals on it. Thanks for watching man!
OUCH!!!!
Hi Nick,
We have had reels in the past that we have designed and engineered ourselves, but did not manufacture in order to hit a price point.
@Sweswio yea they are a steal at that price. Academy had the Lew's LFS from $99 down to $69 before, too.
I'm planning on getting one
@@bassnazi4713 yea, I do have a buddy that let me borrow the ALX. Nothing special about it but it feels really good. He got it for just over $100 so heck of a steal. Feels very sturdy yet small!
@@kellyherrington2428 they are both great deals for those prices. I don't own the Revo, yet, but will probably pick up at least one while they are still that low. I had picked up the Mach Crush last year, and the ProTi this year, so really don't need it, but will be a solid addition for anyone.
Is this saltwater usable? I can't find any info if it can be used in freshwater and saltwater

I think i will consider this reel..with cheaper price..the ratio..its suitable to cast at stream
The daiwa cc80 would be an option if you're looking for something cheaper. It's in the same line but weighs a tad more and has a couple fewer bearings.
Do they make it in a left hand retrieve?

7:5.1 and 6:8.1??? That’s odd for Daiwa, those are common gear ratios for Lew’s reels and Daiwa has never had those gear ratios before. Odd. I’m going to stick to my Fuego, love that reel.
With the daiwa cg80 it is outsourced. Normally daiwa makes every reel in house but these are made by the same company that makes the lews reels the abu Garcia reels the 13 fishing reels. Shimano and daiwa are only to that make every reel in house.
reelfishing oh that explains a lot, I was reading something about that earlier as well. Hopefully Daiwa doesn’t switch all their reels over to doyo.
hArRiSoN ç I really don’t want daiwa to switch to doyo. Daiwa makes such good reels already and have multiple of their own factorys. Though, aren’t 13fishing made by banax? I think 13fishing also have their unique designs. But I really hope daiwa will make all their reels in their factorys, not doyo’s factorys!
Benjamin S yes I agree, love my Fuego and I have handled the Tatulas. Love the way those feel too
hArRiSoN ç I have a daiwa prorex (pretty much a tatula) and I really like it. I’m more a fanboy of shimano reels but daiwa reels made in daiwa factorys are such good reels. My prorex 200hla casts pretty much as far as my shimano tranx 301 and it costs half the price!

Thanks for watching man!
because they have too.....just like apple and GoPro
Just picked up a cc80 on Amazon for 45, almost a no brainer
Search is over it's the slx
It's a good reel man, very happy with it this far!
I’d just stick with the SLX.
I definitely like the SLX but there are a lot of good options at this price point!
It's a Lew's/Abu/daiwa all made in the doyo factory.
upstate NY basser 10586 i think this one is:/! The tatulas, the steezes and almost all their other reels are made in daiwas factory. They make their own reels but this one is probably made by doyo. Why though:/?
upstate NY basser 10586 the fuego is not doyo made!
Must be cheaper to make them there. Yeah the Fuego is different aluminum frame. The tatula style reel.
upstate NY basser 10586 yeah.
Me too. I have the Fuego and I love it it's such a solid reel.
Good videos was gonna add that the dinks you catch your reels should last a lifetime. Of course I'm joking but great review gives options.
Bro! You nailed it! But all those dinks take a toll. It's like getting 10,000 thorns in your leg vs getting bit by a rattlesnake ...neither one is good and both are going to leave a mark hahahah👊
I had lexa winn tatula sv tw its awesome 👏 reel ever
I also have thr lexa winn for my muskie rig and it is a nice reel!
Yeah its great reel but had a play move on the gear ⚙️ or may be the drag im not sure but have a play moving up and down haha 😆 but im sure from the drive shaft that is disappointing me
@@spincaster1497 that stinks! I've really liked the reel thus far. We'll see after I catch some big fish on it but so far it has been nice.
Haha 😆 may be its stinks 😷
For $100 if stuffs start to fall off , even flake off, it’s a sign of cheap builds. I expected more even at that price range
It's just a piece of trim and didn't affect the reel at all. I personally think it would have been better left off and just made the frame a different color. I'm just going by my experience with the reel and it has surprised me.
13 fishing TX review??
Would LOVE to get my hands on one to test. I haven't got to use any of their reels!
Do the 13 origin se
I'll try to find one. I don't currently own any 13 reels but would love to try some!
Big ty for the review 🖒👊
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Fuego has a aluminum frame
Yessir, it definitely does!
daiwa launched the CA80 reel and lowered the prices of the CC, CG AND CR80
I need a one casting reel
Don't we all! Thanks for watching man!
Love my cg80
Thank you bro 👊👊🎣
