every role i've seen david tennant in has been brilliant. i haven't watched it yet but just knowing tennant's resume, i know i will be amazed because he gives his all to each and every role!
First David Tennant in Bad Samaritan movie, now in Des. He really is an outstanding actor & nails the ultimate creepy psycho roles with perfection. You feel when you watch you really don’t wanna run into the characters he plays
Sick of people who say this glorifies killers , what it does is open our eyes to what seemingly normal people can be capable of and only through an event of discovery can bring to light killings taking place over years and maybe shedding light on previous missing persons and what actually happened to them as sad as these events are
It's not about glorifying, it's about knowing the psychology behind psychopaths so people don't fall into trap and cost their life as reward to these psychopaths.i mean after all it's all a perspectives to how we see things
What's really sad about cases like these is that nobody will ever truly know whether people are still missing or have been murdered by the hands of people like him.
Cant wait for the final episode tonight, David tenant has been superb playing this part and the fact they have got him pretty much the spitting image of the killer makes it even more interesting. Heard alot of comments about how the accent isn’t great but anyone trying to do that accent who isn’t from that general area even experts would probably struggle, I’m Scottish (Edinburgh/Lothians) and can just about pull it off. What amazes me more is the fact even more people were saying how good a scottish accent David can do and not actually realising he is Scottish in the first place lol Think this series will win some awards aswell as the viewing figures are apparantly the highest for itv in a good while, and they have went to alot of trouble getting alot of the facts etc spot on. Like the kitchen in the killers house (wall paper etc) not that i was ever in his house to know this lol but i seen a picture of the original house online and was pretty much bang on. Great viewing and well done David. Daniel mays is a great actor aswell, he was good in line of duty. Series 2 i think or maybe series 1. (cant wait for that to come back aswell) 👍🏻
Another fun fact David Tennant is the reason this got made. Apparently one of the producer or writer (cant remember exactly who) was on the set of Broadchurch talking about trying to get this drama made. David said he'd love to take part. If his name wasn't attached to it then it would not have been made.
Just watched and thought it was quite good. They've got the period atmosphere right and as far as I can tell, used the real locations of Nielsen's two houses for filming. I'm not sure the term 'homophobia' was in common use at that time and a pathologist would use the term 'post-mortem' rather than 'autopsy' but apart from that, no major nitpicks so far - well done ITV.
@@Anthony-rt1ol Thanks! Just remembered another nitpick - Nilsen's Cricklewood address is given as London N2 - but that's an East Finchley postcode. Cricklewood is NW2.
Awesome display of Davids talent as this cold calculating butcher.......scary how a plain guy you wouldnt guess what a monster he was....British TV at its best again.
Who thinks that the actor who plays the character Steve looks like a resemblance to the Irish Comedian Dave Allen. Well done ITV for a great drama. Looking forward to watching the final episode tonight. What will be next. The criminal known as the Fox.👍👍👍👍
Yep agree 100% David is playing this role unbelievably and looks more like the killer than even the killer does 😂 and Daniel mays is a great actor aswell, he was good in line of duty when he was in it. But this is defo the best roles they have had by a long shot and will probably win some awards.
Wish I could watch this in the US. There is an incredibly well done three part podcast about this serial killer . It a podcast called “casefile”. Starting at episode #144 I think. Check it out if you have the stomach
If David Tennant and Daniel Mays don't win awards for this then that's blatantly robbery! David Tennant gave me the creeps big time in this! And Daniel Mays you could feel the utter horror he feels at having to actually deeply delve into the mind and world of a complete and utter psychopath like Nilsen to find out what's happened. DCI Peter Jay must've had a strong stomach to sit there and listen to Nilsen as he calmly described his murders and all the things he did to his victims. Absolutely shocking and despicable
I wanna know about what made Nilsen tick and more anger from the police officer other than that scene when he is asking if he had killed several young men.
thats what I think Des was trying to portray...point is I thnik...that any ordinary guy you would probably chat to in a pub can be a cold butcher....scary ....IMO he was lonely figure and was making a "Legend" of himself.in a gruesome way...we`ll never know....
I think the lack of anger by the police was partly shock and partly because they weren't sure if they were dealing with a total lunatic who had no understanding of his actions.
People have been hitting Ofcom with complaints about this. What on Earth is happening to this country? Have we really become those people who complain about everything? If you can't handle a show/film about a serial killer, then don't freaking watch it! Or better yet, watch something more suited to you, like Peppa Pig!
Good point. But property prices had not gone crazy in London (that happened after the boom of '87) and Muswell Hill was not so upmarket as it is today either, it was a fairly shabby suburb and had no tube line, making rents cheaper. Also, Nilsen's place was a tiny one bedroom attic flat. I lived quite near his house and had a similar sized flat in the late 90s, which I was able to afford on a fairly average London salary.
Just shows you that even in a busy place like London people can go missing and Nilsen preyed on that young men who were homeless hungry had addictions he is burning in hell.
One of the better acted dramas I've ever seen. Tennant is grossly underrated as an actor on the world stage.
He so is.
He’s an amazing actor. He blew me away in broadchurch
Broadchurch was so good
How amazing David can transform himself from the charming Dr. Who to creepy serial killer Nilsen. Well done, David.
His performance in Jessica Jones as well really shows how versatile he is as an actor. One of the best out there.
@@fivestarman5130 i was really hoping to see more of him in J.jones

A brilliant actor! Period! He deserves an award for this! Love it remarkable transformation! British actors are amazing I must say!
He’s too sexy for this role
I've never heard of this man so I searched him up....I'm still in shock
Lucky for you, you can have an amazing ride during watching his stuff
I unfortunately did the same! Those poor men, the sicko talked about their deaths like it was something he had for lunch
Fantastic, gripping drama. Well done David perfect portrayal. Was gripped by this.

Fun fact they finished filming this a day before the lockdown started
@Luke 1234oh yeah i knew that one when i saw him win that award mans does the most brilliant British accent

It's awesome, David Tennant is amazing as Nilsen
I can't stop thinking of the Doctor

Great series. Superb acting. Storytelling with out glorifying Dennis Nilsen

It was the cigarette addiction in so many people that horrified me more
Brilliant men in hell type series with no women around.
Hope this gets a Netflix release

Why does he actually look like Dennis Nilson 😳
that British custom of doing things right. Once again.
