The Bburago model of the F40 is a really good looking model to have on your mantle piece, and for the price it is a very good reproduction, that even the most avid collector couldn't turn their nose up at the detail. No wonder it is a best seller, who didn't as a child want to own a F40 even if it's just a model. :)
Thank you so much for this video. I am a Japanese watching from Japan. I think this red one was the model, which was my first Bburago bought in the train station of Rome in 1992. Didn't know this was such a popular diecast model. I was just travelling with my friends in North Africa and Europe from Japan.
Bought this model and am modifying it to be as realistic as possible including making the pop ups work, changing the exhaust to straight pipes, redoing the wastegate tubing adding metal bits.
I want to stop by thanking you for making this video on the f40 because you're always very detailed in depth review of your models you make such good videos 👍👍👍👍 it would be nice if you can add to your videos where you can find especially this Ferrari f40 what I mean is where I'm lying could I find this for our f40 ? Again thank you 😃
The first text I left you I meant to say I want to start by thanking you for making such good videos.. and also I wanted to know where I could buy the f40 by Borago? I apologize for the misspelling of these words in my first comments I made
thank you very much! the best place to get such an f40 is from e bay, just keep looking until you find one in good condition and a good price, they always keep showing up there and sometimes are in bad condition so just keep browsing the product listings until you get a good deal.
Great video! I'm still missing the F40 and the Enzo out of the Ferrari's fast five but I'm thinking about getting a Ferrari Enzo by Hot Wheels that's in a pretty rough shape for 3 dollars. The original series F40 cost 100 dollars here in S.Korea so I couldn't dare pick it up.
i'd definitely recommend getting the hot wheels enzo, it's a great looking model and surprisingly it is still easy to get for around RRP, i still see many offers for
Hello there ! Recently I bought the reproduced ` original series ` bburago F40, and I can say, if u don't want to buy a made in Italy one, it is basically the same casting, with better details on everything, except for the front interior ( belt, tubes , etc are still plain red plastic.) Also they feel better compared to the Italy one that my cousin has. I'd say, if you can get one for a good price, go ahead ! I got mine for 40$ and it was a steal, really !
absolutely! it saves you a lot of hassle like painting all the extra details yourself. sadly when I was on the lookout for mine a year ago, I could only ever find them for 80 dollars so i got this one instead
Awesome! I was just at a model show yesterday and a guy sold one to me for $8 USD!!!!! I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT! The only problem is that it’s missing a singular windshield wiper, but that’s something I can find anywhere
This is just awesome ! You mentioned that the Tonka version has pop up headlights. How about the rest of the car from Tonka. Any suggestions if I should go for Tonka or Bburago version of the F40 ?
thank you! i dont own any tonkas IRL but I have heard they're actually slightly bigger than 1/18, more like 1/17, plus if you look at the pics of the tonka in my video I personally feel it looks a little "elongated", like the shape is a little off. Also the engine of the bburago seems to be more detailed. So if there is no price difference I would go for the bburago, and when it comes to these old models condition is also very important.
@@ImperialDiecast Thanks a lot for the explanation. Well price wise, I found Tonka cheaper than Bburago. I couldn't judge the longish size that you mention, but I felt the Bburago ones have slightly better details and finishing. Let me dig a bit more and see if the Tonka makes a better display piece or the Bburago.
I just thought of something do the upgrades that you make on your models you know to make them look better do they enhance the value of the model or does it decrease the value of the model ? Because I had carpets to some of my models which there are 1/18 scales models that I collect.
considering these are bburagos that (at least in europe) retail for 30-45 euro new in box, i would say custom work increases their value by a bit rather than further decreasing, because they do look better and there's not many people who put this sort of work into them so that others are forced to buy the KK scale or GT spirit if they want a similar look (but lose the opening features in the process) while the kyosho and hot wheels elite are impossibly hard to find.
The prototype f40 has the logo on the passenger side according to some pictures that i have seen of the car.

Nice! I want one again in my collection :)
My Favorite Ferrari 😍, I also had the Tonka 1/18 F40 beside the Bburago, both of them still made in Italy
Which one is better in terms of quality and appearance?
@@pinkraven4402 i chose Tonka coz pop up headlights are workingable even because of it the trunk cant open
which one is rarer and how rare, in usd
@@trrrmac i think Tonka is more Rare than Bburago

Damn, making pop-ups work is dedication. How are you gonna do it?
The Saleen S7 is my favorite supercar, but I know everyone needs to pay homage to the legend of legends.

Nice classic car! Pure drive feeling as possible. :)
Tonka Polistil also does production F40
I wonder if it would possible to move the popup headlights from tonka to bburago

@@DiecastDreamz well, any news update?
I got the Tonka Postil and the Franklin Mint Ferrari F40's
Do you find the doors come off easily on this model?
Whit what kind of paint are you painting the details?
acrylic paints from the citadel brand, bought from a company called games workshop that sells them for painting plastic miniatures
@@ImperialDiecast thx mate.
Great car bud! I do have the same model but in yellow. Will release the review on monday😊🚗💨
Great casting 👍👍👍
Im looking for detail hole..at rear wing..its look 5 hole ..its very diff with the real only have 4 hole strip

You are the elegant oxford right?

The F40 is *THE* Ferrari.
No.disc brake ?
Es hermoso ese Ferrari, lástima que no abre los faros delanteros. ¡Por lo demás está maravilloso! 😍👍
Got no disc brake
Fantastic!!!!! very informative :-bd
Очень кайфовая! Смущает только шильдик F40 на антикрыле. У настоящей он с правой стороны, а ни с левой.
Nice 👍
